I'm back!
Classes have been keeping me busy, but I've started redoing Corn's sweater to fit her now that she's grown up. (She'll be a year old soon!)
I had originally planned to unravel Corn's kitten sweater up to the neckline to just add to it, but unfortunately due to a mistake while crocheting it, the sweater no longer was able to unravel past the first slipknot done in the neckline. I was, however, able to salvage the yarn from the body of her sweater and tie that yarn into the yarn skein. That means, the entire neckline of her new sweater is composed of the yarn from her kitten sweater!
Without further ado, this is the sweater in its progress currently. I have a project I want to do for myself, but wanted to test crocheting two colors in one project without having to cut the yarn. It's been tricky in the sense that doing the hidden seam idea that Catventurous Crochet does in her video with the TC has been a little challenging to make look nice. Thankfully the project I want to do for myself isn't done with triple crochet. Once I've completed a few more rows, I'll post a picture to show what I mean here. Until then, here's what I have!

Luk very angrily modeling the sweater.
She wasn't honestly super angry, just uncomfy like the first time I had put a harness on her. Either way, she was happy when I took it off and a good sport through the whole thing. Corn even came over to offer some emotional support.
There's plenty of space to move in the sweater and do normal cat things, but, of course, she'll likely only wear it if going out and about in the cat carrier with me.

Also, I never shared this, but Corn actually fit her sweater so much better when we were getting ready to move back to my apartment. ♡

Finally finishing Luk's sweater as the hyperfixation is coming back. Here's some pictures of the girl patiently letting me put the sweater on for sizing purposes.

Only played with the yarn a few times.

I'm not trying to be inactive on here and have plenty of neat crochet projects planned! I've actually been working full days and weeks again, so I'm trying to learn how to balance that again. c:

Sizing a one time sweater for a kitten who chews your measuring tape and yarn through the entire process is hard has h e c k, I learned. It ended up a lil big around the shoulders, but I actually ended up tired of fighting her to try it on and just went with it. At least my adult cats at home I know are easier to work with.
Followed the beginning of Catventurous Crochet's video, linked in a previous post of mine, and just kind of finished it off without the video so it would fit Corn at least a little. This video here.
Corn is actually laying on my chest attacking my thumbs as I type this all out before bed. c':

I figured I should introduce my cats on here. I've introduced them on my main blog, but since I just started this blog, I'm going to introduce them again!
First up is my muse, Luk. Her and her sister, who'll be introduced next, are cats born stray that my grandma found in an old house they were tearing down. She gave her, her sister, and her brother to me to take care of, but we never did catch the mother. Luk and her sister were actually adopted by an ex of mine while their brother stayed at my parents as a farm cat. 6 months into owning them I had saw on Facebook that my ex was trying to rehome the sisters and I jumped at the opportunity to have them back. This July they will be 3 years old!

Next is Luk's sister, Lily. Same story as Luk, just she was the only of the litter to be a tabby. Muk and Luk are both black cats.

And finally, the latest and last addition to my cat family, this is Corn! She's a kitten from a litter of 5 kittens that one of my parent's barn cats had. (If anyone wants I got pictures of the whole litter, tons of them). I love this little girl so much. She has not yet been introduced to my other two, but I plan to get that under way asap. I just want to do it when I know someone can be home 24/7 to monitor their behavior. For now she's staying with me at my parents and only things with her scent on it go home with me for my other cats to smell.

Anyway, that's my cats! Luk is my adventurous girl who likes to go outside, and Corn is growing up the same way. Lily does like to go outside, but she prefers the luxury of just staying and sunbathing on the balcony.

The beginning of my very first cat sweater project and my second ever crochet project (please be nice, I am smol and fragile. That being said, any helpful tips and constructive criticism, please throw my way!).
This is as far on it as I can work because although I took measurements of my cat, I want to try it on her periodically to be sure it's sized right. Unfortunately, I'm currently home with my parents and away from my cats for most of the summer for work, but don't worry! I have a roommate who is taking extra good care of my girls while I am away. ♡
Extra notes:
This is for my cat that loves going outside. She has a thick winter jacket (her winter adventures are just me holding her while I take my dog out), but I wanted her to have something nice to wear in the fall and spring that wasn't overly warm, but was still cute. My cats also have color themes for their collars/harnesses, and hers happens to be blue.
Following the pattern on Catventurous Crochet's video: found here
