having only succeeded in getting a handful people to dance with him -- and not for long enough at all in christopher's mind -- he'd resorted to finding another drink. never mind that he'd already lost track of how many he'd had. "this must be my lucky day! your timing is impeccable and i will absolutely take some champagne. the complimentary kind is actually my favourite -- how did you know?" he grinned. "and merry new year's eve to you! we simply can't have anything ending miserably around here. especially not tonight."

the woman had never really hosted a big event like this at her impulsive impulse purchase of the loft. julia had make sure to nap beforehand and whilst she wasn't the biggest fan of new year's eve, she had decided it was better to go out than to stay in thinking what a disaster this year had actually been for her. from the short time she'd being present, the owner had already managed to get more than her fair share of champagne in her system and it was obvious down to the amount of smiling she was doing (it wasn't her personality type to be so welcoming and smiley). "merry new year's eve. would you care for some champagne? it's complimentary. mostly because my attempt to finish the bottle will end miserably. i also have some premium soda if you don't drink."

if there was a party going on, the likelihood was that kit would be there. naturally, he wouldn't miss one as big a new year's do for the world, but even he was starting to agree that it was getting a little too much. watching the collision happen from several steps away, he stuck his bottom lip out in sympathy and approached his friend the moment the coast was clear. "uh oh. guess you'll just have to take those jeans off and give us all a show, eh?" kit smiled innocently, taking a sip of his own ( miraculously ) still intact drink.

Usually, this type of crowded event wasn't his style. It was loud and stuffy and he had been bumped by far too many people for his own comfort, but Jaspar had been convinced by multiple people that it would be a good idea. He hated to admit that any of his friends could wear him down if they tried hard enough, but he supposed his presence at the Loft was proof of it. Jaspar stood awkwardly to the side of the room, people watching now that he had finally managed to find a spot where he wasn't being suffocated from all sides. He clutched an Old fashioned in his hand, more of a social crutch than any desire to drink it. That was his next mistake, because as soon as he wasn't looking, someone knocked into his side, dousing his shoes and jeans in alcohol. "Fuckin' hell-"

born and raised in oxford christopher's parents were both teachers ( mum of biology & dad of history ) and he the youngest of three, with an older brother & sister. while his siblings followed along the academic path set by their parents, kit was consumed by a love for ballet and all things creative from a young age.

he attended the royal ballet school for several years thanks to bursaries, but at eighteen suffered a back injury that had to be treated with surgery. though he mostly recovered ( it still plays up every now and then ) he decided then that it wasn't the career path for him.

so, he started a degree in music and drama at university and ended up doing some modelling for fellow students in fashion and photography by chance. with their encouragement & his family's, he built a portfolio and approached several agencies. he began part time work straight away ; dribs and drabs here and there, but enough for jack to find a real passion and dropped out of uni before finishing his first year.

struggled through a few years of ups and downs ( mainly downs ) in london. his luck started to turn at 22/23 and a string of successes prompted his move to new york around five years later. the ups and downs ratio shifted towards more of the former and at 26 he booked his first big editorial shoot in an issue of harper's bazaar.

after this he started earning regularly in editorial and commercial fashion; enough to move from his first dingy brooklyn apartment.

his ownership of rainbow rhythm came basically completely out of nowhere ; christopher would never have dreamt of being a business owner -- far too much responsibility. until, of course, a club space not far from his new home in bushwick became available. it is maybe the most impulsive thing he's ever done.

it was always going to be an lgbtq+ space and it had been a club before, so that was a pretty easy decision. but it's by no means just a club. downstairs is only open from the evening and is the designated club space ( though there are alcohol-free, relaxed and quiet nights even in the club ), but upstairs is a much more relaxed space with a bar and cafe capabilities. kit really wants it to become a community hub of sorts.

he for sure still has stress dreams about RR since taking ownership five years ago, but it's done and the club is now his baby. he still models & loves it of course, but channels most of his energy into the club.

headcanons

is probably a relatively mid to high-level model. he's had his fair share of shoots in popular magazines / working with well-known brands, so is no doubt recognisable to an extent, but not enough to be considered a household name, really.

was diagnosed with adhd and dyslexia before he dropped out of uni, and the largest exclamation of 'oh, that makes a lot of sense' was heard around the world that day, from kit himself and everyone who knew him.

don't call him christopher, he'll cry. kit is MUCH preferred but he'll answer to pretty much anything you call him -- especially if it's flattering.

supports local small businesses ( esp queer ones ) at any chance, whether in the club or through investment, sponsorship, whatever. he has money ( like, a good amount of it ) & kinda status for the first time in his life so is always trying to find ways to share it out and make sure as many people benefit as possible.

has been known to randomly appear at the club's karaoke night and take part. usually a wham! song or 'never gonna give you up' if he's feeling funny. if he's not modelling, he can usually be found at RR, obsessing over one thing or the other and being a typical perfectionist / stress head overthinking things.

bubbly af ; just wants to be friends with everyone. big golden retriever energy. some people-pleasing tendencies but he's getting better since being in business and realising that sometimes it's very important to say no.

a dreadfully hopeless romantic. his dating history has, like his career, had many ups and downs. still firmly believes in love and the idea of settling down with 'the one' which has been his most recent dating goal though he's fallen out of the scene a lot with being so busy.
