I finished my Masters in Library and Informational Science! People asked me what I wanted as a graduation gift and I said that all I want is for you to help out @abo-ataa to support his family this winter by donating to his paypal below.
Please consider donating to my friend Hussam, he has been displaced from his home in Rafah, and has to take care of his children in this freezing cold weather without even a proper tent! A few dollars will go a long way, no matter how small! Consider it a graduation gift for me if you appreciated any of my posts on tumblr!

In July, the bird flu spread from dairies in Colorado to poultry farms. To contain it, two poultry operations employed about 650 temporary workers — Spanish-speaking immigrants as young as 15 — to cull flocks. Inside hot barns, they caught infected birds, gassed them with carbon dioxide, and disposed of the carcasses. Many did the hazardous job without goggles, face masks, and gloves. By the time Colorado’s health department asked if workers felt sick, five women and four men had been infected. They all had red, swollen eyes — conjunctivitis — and several had such symptoms as fevers, body aches, and nausea. State health departments posted online notices offering farms protective gear, but dairy workers in several states told KFF Health News that they had none. They also hadn’t heard about the bird flu, never mind tests for it. [...] Farmworker advocates also pressed the CDC for money to offset workers’ financial concerns about testing, including paying for medical care, sick leave, and the risk of being fired. This amounted to an offer of $75 each. “Outreach is clearly not a huge priority,” Boggess said. “I hear over and over from workers, ‘The cows are more valuable than us.’”

Do not really know what to say. A year ago we were making posts about how Gaza was being bombed through Christmas- how the oldest Christian community was being bombed- how the birth place of Jesus was being destroyed and his people murdered. A year later, it is going to be Christmas again soon, and the bombings have not stopped. But the news, and the attention seems to have died down considerably. It feels terrible and scary.

In an address to the inaugural Palestine Festival of Literature in 2008, John Berger gave a moving reading of Ghassan Kanafani's "Letter from Gaza", written in 1956.

Please support this campaign for Gaza's children and elderly! It's spearheaded by a father in Gaza who works hard on distributing aid within his camp. Getting a supply of diapers is especially critical because they're costing $65-$75 per pack and so parents are resorting to makeshift cloth diapers that are giving their babies rashes.
(Ignore the end of the video where I tell people to comment, that's for algorithmic platforms, here you can just reblog)

the al manasra family is still fundraising to pay for manal’s life-saving operation in cairo and is still only about halfway to their complete goal. please help them. your donations have made it possible for this family to stay together once the border crossing opens, but please do not forget about them now that they are registered for evacuation. the reality remains that mohamed is being forced to pay out-of-pocket for medical treatment that every israeli is guaranteed for free thanks to imperialist extraction.
if you are also frustrated by the violence and hypocrisy of medical disenfranchisement on every level, please consider at the very least keeping my friend’s campaign circulating.
the Al Manasra family is vetted #192 here by El-Shab Hussein and Nablusi.
read some of my posts and comics about the Al Manasra family here.
you can alternatively donate to Mohamed’s still-active GOFUNDME page if you have an issue with Chuffed. mohamed’s Tumblr page is @save-mohamed-family here is a post about their current goal that links to an additional FAQ! i will also note in this post that mohamed previously purchased food for his starving neighbors thanks to your donations, but must now save for manal's treatment. thankfully, the sameer project recently announced that they will be operating in nuseirat, bringing food and materials to help displaced gazans survive the winter! here is their campaign page:
+ here is my friend mohamed's campaign one more time. his wife manal has uterine cancer that has become life-threatening because of this genocide, and gazan hospitals have no capabilities for the hysterectomy that she needs to survive. once the al manasras arrive in egypt, however, they are being charged exorbitant prices at a private institution because of egypt's strained medical system.

My situation is like everyone else's in Gaza
if we don’t die from the bombings, we die from hunger and cold.
There is nothing more to say after that.
We plead for your support our lives hang by a thread, caught between hunger, cold, and unending devastation.🙏

no matter what the results of the negotiations we can all agree that it's over a year too late. how many lived could've been saved had egypt not upholded the blockade? had they let people through without extorting them for every penny they have? if the border opens, how many families will flee it fractured because they lost someone while the border was cruelly shut on them?
@eyadgaza46 is 20. he should've started university. he has developed a respiratory condition. his family contains three young children: nasir, mohammed, and hind. they are in poor condition.
i have no faith in leaving their fates to the whims of a state that has demonstrated nothing but the utmost cowardice and apathy. until they pull their weight and do something i am asking you to keep iyad's family fed and warm in the meanwhile.
please, if you can spare anything, donate here.
vetted here at #24 (gaza-vetters)

If you noticed, in the last week or so, the daily reports of the number of Palestinians killed in Gaza would average ~120. And as grotesque as it sounds, I do feel like people for the most part have grown unaffected by the numbers. The reason I say this now comes from the fact that what was circulating the most in the past week was how all of Gaza is functioning on 6 ambulances or how all of 36 hospitals in Gaza are destroyed (which isn't entirely true). This honestly proves that while we need consistent advocacy, people do crave shock value even if misdirected unfortunately.
Not sure what the best way would be to tell all of you that every single Palestinian killed by Israel is one life too many and genocide does not have a specific threshold of number of people killed per day to qualify as such.
We need to be loud about Palestine and we need to be consistent. Make no mistake, this genocide might drag on for many reasons but at the end of the day, those who are facilitating it are counting on people losing momentum.

I've lost the love of my life, and my fingers refuse to write the word “death” in connection with him. I am still in denial, grappling with the harsh truth that he is gone. Now, I live amidst the ruins of memories—everything around me serves as a reminder of him. He adored the sky and the sea, always fascinated by the stars. I once told him that I wished the roof of our future home could be made of glass, so we could gaze at the stars together, dreaming of our life ahead. But all of that is now shattered, forever lost since Israel took away the soul of the one I cherished most.
My life has become an empty void, devoid of any motivation to take a single step forward. I find no desire to cry, to eat, or even to exist. Each day is a relentless cycle, repeating itself, as I wait for the moment of my death. I often find myself lost in thoughts of how it might happen: will I die whole, or will my body be scattered, pieces of me consumed by stray dogs and cats?
➡️Now, my focus has shifted to my family and the desperate need to save them from this hell we call home. This is not just a plea; it is a campaign for survival.
Please, if you can, do not hesitate to donate and help us find safety. Every bit counts in this fight for our lives.
My campaign has been verified

A video posted by dear uncle Khaled (khaledmnabhann) picking lilies as a tribute to Gaza and the people of the world...
A translation of what he says in the video:
(Comment from instagram user mydxbstyle - Translation: 'Today is 4 August 2024. Today, I put together this bouquet of lilies as a gift to the souls of the martyrs of Gaza, the people of Gaza, and the Arab and Islamic Nation, and to all Free People of the world!')

With the blockade imposed by Israel, it is extremely important to support grassroots organizations. They provide aid to multiple families on the ground. The Sameer Project is one organization. It is led by 4 Palestinians in the diaspora and Gazans are risking their lives while distributing the aid to ensure families are accommodated.
The Sameer Project provides food and shelter. As you know, the rainy season is persistent and many families have been displaced by the sea. The high tide has caused many to lose their tents, the only shelter they have. So please donate to the Sameer Project! With your support, they can branch out to families across the Strip!
Here is their Linktree, which also includes Venmo and PayPal.
