Consider: Kira trying really hard to connect w/ hayato and even if he has no idea what he's doing (i.e. video games.), he still tries and has fun bc it makes hayato happy.

Also consider: kira trying really hard to be a good husband for Shinobu, since clearly he's somehow better than the piece of garbage he replaced.
