my name is keen. i'm an inmate at a prison a little ways outside splatsville. currently serving enough consecutive life sentences to pretty much guarantee that i'm never gonna be free again, but you might still see me around because [GRIZZCO] took out a contract with me.

sometimes i get censored. that's part of the contract, i can't say anything that goes against company values. ignore that.

not really sure what else i should say apart from that. kind of a bad introduction if that's all you learn about me, so have some fun facts:

i'm a splatana wiper main. i don't get a chance to use it much nowadays so i love seeing it in rotations. man i miss it.

before i was convicted, i spent some time living in salmonid territories. unrelated to the conviction, btw.

i was supposed to have a twin but i ate him before we were born.

i like human music. the heli pilot authorized to transport me to battle sites reconstructs human songs as a hobby, and he lets me listen sometimes. i especially enjoy breaking benjamin and other stuff that sounds like that.

i can probably come up with more if you meet me on a run. i’m full of theories and lore that i can’t write here for company reasons.

now that the statute of limitations has expired, i can say that during the pandemic, my apartment complex at the time tried to change the laundry room hours to business hours, and i very calmly and quietly went down, took a cinderblock off the garden wall, and threw it through the glass door. and it stayed open til 9pm, and we never heard about changing hours again. sometimes you have to throw a cinderblock in a very businesslike manner, i'm saying. this is a negotiation, among stakeholders, and i would like to make clear that the cost/benefit balance sheet used to make the decision to change the hours was missing a variable

I know it's unfair vilification and stuff but it's also a lot of fun to see old media and stuff where people were SO scared of big animals like lions, sharks, crocodiles and wolves were fully expected to just come and eat you the moment you stepped into their territory. In older media we also made that assumption about gorillas and in still older we thought it'd be whales. But some animals that will actually fuck you up got left behind. Boars will kill you and eat you. They're way more likely to do so than any of those other things actually. Hippos, obviously, got off like bandits always being depicted as cute and dopey. And then there's the squids. Not giant kraken size squids. The eight foot squids that hunt in packs and will fuck you up if you fall in the water at night. I can't BELIEVE people slept on that. It's like all they cared about were the huge deep sea ones we never see. The medium size wolf pack squids were right there.

I honestly don’t understand why there aren’t more people who, when given the platform to discuss minimum wage, don’t simply distill it to the simplest of facts:

A forty hour work week is considered full time.

It’s considered as such because it takes up the amount of time we as a society have agreed should be considered the maximum work schedule required of an employee. (this, of course, does not always bear out practically, but just follow me here)

A person working the maximum amount of time required should earn enough for that labor to be able to survive. Phrased this way, I doubt even most conservatives could effectively argue against it, and out of the mouth of someone verbally deft enough to dance around the pathos-based jabs conservative pundits like to use to avoid actually debating, it could actually get opps thinking.

Therefore, if an employee is being paid less than [number of dollars needed for the post-tax total to pay for the basic necessities in a given area divided by forty] per hour, they are being ripped off and essentially having their labor, productivity, and profit generation value stolen by their employer.

Wages are a business expense, and if a company cannot afford to pay for its labor, it is by definition a failing business. A company stealing labor to stay afloat (without even touching those that do so simply to increase profit margins and/or management/executive pay/bonuses) is no more ethical than a failing construction company breaking into a lumber yard and stealing wood.

Our goal as a society should be to protect each other, especially those that most need protection, not to subsidize failing businesses whose owners could quite well subsidize them on their own.

I know a company that does both these things and no surprise, when you shop there, the employees are always miserable and agitated.You should kill your managers in such situations imo. The only reason I receive treatment slightly above this is i'm lucky enough to have managers who are also bothered by these business practices. The water one is especially bad if you have heat intolerance, I was so sick regularly before I switched to a department with more leniency regarding water.

Depending on where you live these things may violate labor laws though so if you're in the same situation look into it. However in my experience any labor law violations happen without consequence regardless
