when in rome . . .

make sure to read everything before making a request!

࿇ all of my works are under roman empire, which is my masterlist.
࿇ first, please be polite and specific with sending a request. i'd also appreciate it if you're patient.
࿇ i have the right to decline a request especially if i don't feel like writing it. i most likely won't answer the ask—it will be deleted.
࿇ i don't write explicit nsfw. 18+ themes such as drinking, smoking, the likes would be mentioned from time to time. i might write about implied nsfw, but again it won't be detailed and too explicit.
࿇ i also don't write fics that include consent boundaries such as: non-con/dub-con, underage, incest, extreme violence, depictions of self-harm and the likes. i also avoid cheating and infidelity plots.
࿇ i write requests at my own pace. i have a busy life and i write on my free time—which is a bit rare these days. thank you for your patience still. i think i could write short excerpts based on some lyrics or prompts, so feel free to send that as well.
࿇ i mostly write for a female reader. i'll do my best to write for a gender neutral character.
࿇ i only cater to fluff and angst at the moment. leaning to fluff to be honest, i just like it lighthearted most of the time lmao.
࿇ reblogs and comments are much appreciated as always!

BEFORE YOU FOLLOW/DO NOT INTERACT IF . . .
࿇ please don't ever interact with me if you are: pro-isreal, anti-lgbtqia, racist, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory; pro-shipper, the likes.
࿇ you don't like what i write. i can take constructive criticism, but if you just want to get on here and hate, put that time elsewhere.
࿇ i made this blog to write for lookism, mainly. but hopefully i'll be open to other fandoms soon.
࿇ this is a curated space. i like to reblog what fits my interests, so if you see random, non-manhwa related posts... that's probably me.
࿇ please have some basic internet decency as well.
࿇ please be kind and respectful. i'll give off the same energy you give me.

Hey I loved your Gitae headcanons....
Can you please write Jichang kwak headcanons tooo
jichang kwak headcanons

࿇ pairing. jichang kwak x reader
࿇ disclaimer. might be ooc! mentions of trauma as well. i always put a disclaimer like this since some readers or fans of jichang may not like my headcanons or how i view him as. i’m always open for discussion (for any of the characters) though! thank you. i like learning about how you guys see your faves ࿇ author's note. sorry for posting late and thank you for your trust in my writing! to those reading this, requests are open as always (i don’t think i’ve closed it lmao) so you’re free to let me know what else you want to see me write!
masterlist. ࿇ requests.

IN GENERAL...
࿇ With Jichang, you have to acknowledge that he had gone through, what I feel like, all sorts of trauma during his time in Seoul.
࿇ Getting kicked out of the city by Gitae Kim, is in fact, a light testament of how the brute of a man had forcibly removed him from his position as king—swinging his axe haphazardly, but with the intent to inevitably get rid of Jichang not just from being the ruler of Seoul, but from the world in itself.
࿇ How he was beaten by James Lee twice to the point he had pitied him, not even bothering to remove a limb because he was just not worth it in the legend’s eyes.
࿇ How he was called weak not just by in losing fights, but in many different ways that had gone through his head.
࿇ I think it blew irreversible damage to his confidence and ego—especially if you think about how he felt during that time; how fresh it all feels for him.
࿇ How can the former King of Seoul be reduced to this?
࿇ I feel like it would take time for Jichang to heal from all of that, and while it doesn’t hurt as much as it did for him, it’s like a certain type of grief that lingers in his body, heart, and mind. There are reminders everywhere of what he had lost and what he had become, and so it will take a lot of patience with him.
࿇ Moving onto the lighter things, I want to take notice of how caring and loving he is towards his brothers. That one panel of him feeding them in Seoul and how he had advised Jinrang to break his shackles in order to protect his siblings—his pack—I feel like he greatly resonated with that, and that shows how much love he has for those who he truly cares about.
࿇ He’s strict—all business when needed be. And while I know that the Jichang from Seoul and the Jichang from Chungcheong are still somehow different, he still carries that with him.
࿇ I feel like he would be overprotective too given how he had ensured that Bakgu Noh was safe from the threats that possibly haunted the old man. While he did owe Bakgu Noh a lot of things (I forgot if anything was implied regarding this, please feel free to remind me), he’s protective still.
IN DATING...
࿇ Since I did mention that Jichang carries a lot of trauma from the past, basically demeaning himself from time to time, he’ll need reassurance from you.
࿇ In relationships, partners reassure their lovers that it’s completely okay that they get affected from their traumas—from situations that happened years ago—especially if it gets triggered on a random day, and you are that kind of person towards Jichang, but I feel like he also knows that he has to get better from this.
࿇ That he’s safer now here in Chungcheong surrounded by his loved ones, how he’s with someone as patient as you. How he knows that you love him, and that love will fuel his desire to become better and to heal from that.
࿇ Since the dangers never end, and despite the quietness that the province holds, he would make sure that you’re okay and that he knows where you are. That might seem overbearing, but it’s really just for your safety—and it eases his mind honestly.
࿇ He would be a real romantic though. I mean at first he would probably be a little nonchalant towards you, afraid to show affection or still hide behind his mask, but you’ll eventually break all that down and you’ll realize that there’s a man who loves you purely and softly despite how rough of a background he had.
࿇ I think he’d be a little insecure with handholding considering the state of his hands. It’s particularly messed up with marks from the past, and every time he sees them, he’s reminded that he uses these hands to hurt people and to protect.
࿇ But whenever you hold them without any complaint and in gentleness, he’s amazed. Jichang would probably think how you’re possibly just stomaching to hold his hand because that’s what couples do.
࿇ He’s an overthinker too, and so you will reassure him, calm him down that you’re not just holding it even though it’s mortifying to look at. You tell him that you’re holding it because you want to.
࿇ And he’s probably thinking oh, that’s possible?
࿇ Dating him also means that you get little spies—his brothers. And while Jibeom is the most normal about this, I feel like Jihan would be a little more mischievous. After all, he’s still a kid in his teens. God forbid he was curious about his hyung’s love life!
࿇ Jichang is the type to date to marry, so if he dated you.. sweetheart, you better be ready for a ring in the future.
࿇ Would probably call you darling, sweetheart, love… the likes.
࿇ He would be a good listener and the best person to go to if you need advice from life.

Hey! I loved your work on lookism boys as girl dads.......If possible Can you do the same with 1st Gen kings please
1st gen kings as girl dads.
࿇ characters. jichang/jinrang/jaegyeon/james/gongseop/taesoo
࿇ disclaimer. this will be my first time writing for the 1st gen kings so please bear in mind it might be ooc. i’ll do my best to navigate around it though. again, thank you for believing in my work! this isn’t really long too. ࿇ warnings. jinrang’s past. gongseop is a fake monk but still uses one the four noble truths to justify his feelings. mentions of zack in gongseop. hudson is basically the big brother to taesoo’s daughter. ࿇ author's note. i didn’t think the earlier girl dads scenario would be somehow a hit to the point you guys would want a 1st gen version, but here we are! i didn’t add gitae here since he was already a part of the original post.
original post found here.

JICHANG KWAK
With how Jichang had raised Jibeom and Jihan, I could see him as a father who would tend to be a little strict and overprotective with his daughter. He knows the dangers of the world that they live in and how he has a lot more to protect now. It’s not just his siblings and Bakgu Noh anymore—it’s not just ensuring that Chungcheong Province was free from bad guys, but he has you and his daughter now.
He would teach her how to defend herself at a young age. Considering how dangerous things are for him and how he’s on edge whenever a foreign face comes to visit the province, he would want to make sure that his daughter can protect herself. If he’s too busy to teach her, either Jibeom or Jihan would take over, ensuring that they put in the hours and effort in educating her in his technique.
You would be against it at first since you wanted your daughter to enjoy her childhood, but at the same time, you knew—were well-aware how bad it was for Jichang back in Seoul. And so you let him teach your daughter.
“You’re doing well,” he says, giving his daughter an encouraging smile as she spars with an exasperated Jihan. “Why are you making me spar with her?!” his youngest brother exclaims, doing his best not to hurt a strand of her from his niece. “This is unfair, hyung!” Jihan adds, making Jichang roll his eyes at Jihan’s dramatics.
Jichang was about to open his mouth to respond, but his daughter beats him to it. “Uncle,” she says, mimicking her father’s pose.
Her left arm was outstretched as the other was bent to cover her face—both hands ready to serve as blades. “If you can’t teach me how to fight, then who will?” she asks, trying to mock her uncle. “Aren’t you stronger than uncle Jibeom? Show it to me then,” she says, making Jichang eyes widen, but soften right after.
She really does take after him, he thinks. And that makes Jichang cross his arms, looking at Jihan, who was shocked at his own niece’s words.
“You heard her,” Jichang says. “Fight back.”
“She’s not even 10!” Jihan argues.
“Don’t underestimate my kid.”
JINRANG
Given his vicious childhood, it was a fact to say that Jinrang had it rough. The only thing that was on his mind was to protect his people—those who were younger than him, the same ones that called him hyung. The same ones that relied on him whenever things had gone awry in the cesspool they called home back then.
The two of you had met when he was rising in the ranks of the Busan Gang, developing a romance that he didn’t know how to navigate at first. But one thing Jinrang knew was that he knew he had to protect you—and to him that meant that he cared for you, loved you in a way that he knows how.
He had found out that you were pregnant right after he was taken to prison, remembering how his heart lurched in his throat—feeling helpless because he was behind bars for dealing with the late Dalyoung Oh, the previous King of Busan.
Jinrang was the type of person who had always protected you, who had made sure that you had a roof over your head and away from all the mess that the gang had even if he was in prison. His brothers, Sang Baek and Jungseok, had ensured that you had a safe pregnancy despite their hyung being in prison.
When he got released, the first thing he did was go to your home—so comfortable, nice. A far cry from his prison cell. Everything was clean, and he could see the toys that littered on the living room.
“I’m home,” he says, loud enough for you and for your daughter to hear. Hell, he isn’t even sure if his own daughter remembers him. The last time he saw her, she was an infant. Can she walk now? He thinks, heart hurting because he couldn’t even be with her during her first moments.
“Daddy!” is what he hears, a giggle following after as he sees his daughter—a mix of you and him, running towards him with a smile that could blind him.
That’s his little bundle of joy, all grown-up, recognizing him and even calling him daddy. He has to thank you for your parenting, how you managed to do all of this alone when all he wanted to do was help and be there for you—but he can’t because of the circumstances.
“Sweetheart,” Jinrang says, a small smile on his face as he kneels down to hug his daughter. Her tiny body had fit comfortably against his, and he can’t help but hug her tighter as you look at their small reunion. “Have you been good for mom?” he asks quietly, rubbing his daughter’s back before pulling away to look at her.
He marvels at the fact that she looks like the two of you, and he thinks that finally, he had contributed something good in his world. A tiny human that was of the two of you—so loving and caring, not looking at him like the felon that he is. He’s only daddy to her, and he would like for it to stay that way.
“Yeah!” she says excitingly, handing him the stuffed animal—a wolf, and it makes him laugh quietly. “Mommy says that daddy likes wolves, so I asked uncle Sang Baek and Jungseok to get me one!” she adds, jumping as she tugs his arm.
“Come on, daddy! Let me show you my playroom.”
JAEGYEON NA
“Don’t touch it!” Jaegyeon exclaims as his daughter looks at him mischievously, hand hovering above Initial N’s new paint job. Everyone in the family knew that he was protective of the damn car, and it’s not below him to tell his daughter or you off when it comes to it.
“But why, daddy?” she asks, hand still hovering on the car’s new pain, and Jaegyeon swears the little devil was putting her hand agonizingly slow just to piss him off. “It’s just new paint,” she retorts, her answers somehow similar to how Jaegyeon responds to people.
You watch the two of them, entertained. It’s not all the time your daughter manages to tick her father off because she’s an angel as he says, but it’s a different nickname for her when she tries to mess around with his precious car. “Do you care about Inital N more than me, daddy?” she asks, trying to sound so sad, using puppy dog eyes to make it seem like she was about to cry.
Jaegyeon immediately softens, though it’s obvious that he’s conflicted. “You’re such a manipulator,” he says to his kid, but without any bite. “Where did you think she got that from?” you comment from the sidelines, and all he does is give you a massive side-eye.
“What’s a manipulator, daddy?” she asks, clueless. “But do you really care about Initial N more than me?” she asks again as she sees Jaegyeon walking towards her, kneeling, his blond locks framing his face. “No, angel,” he says. “It’s just a paint job is expensive here in Incheon, and daddy can’t be bothered to go back to Seoul to get it done again.”
Your daughter doesn’t really know the value of money considering that Jaegyeon had a bad habit of spoiling the two of you so much, evident at how you were sporting luxury goods from head to toe, and his own child was decked in Baby Dior. “But you can afford everything, daddy,” she argues before humming.
“But okay,” she says, unconsciously resting her hand on the car, which makes Jaegyeon gasp, all exaggerated. “What!” his daughter asks, surprised, looking at her hand and seeing how there was a faint color blue on it. “Ew! My hand is blue! Daddy!” she says, her hand smacking on her father’s cheek, and Jaegyeon can’t even evade quickly.
“Angel!” he says, looking at the small handprint on the car, his daughter’s faint blue hand, and to you, where he sports a blue cheek.
“Can my wife please help me?!”
JAMES LEE
Even if he had already changed his identity, it didn’t mean that James was completely safe from his past. Sure, he dropped James Lee in public, went and become the famous idol Dagyeom Kang, created his own entertainment company before declaring that he wanted to pursue politics, of all things, but you—you were the one who knew him from the start, way before Charles Choi and the Four Major Crews came into the picture.
You were his constant, the one who knew him as James—the one who stuck by him despite the many changes and dangers that had come to his life.
James was a private person. Not many knew of his relationship with you, and not many were aware of the fact that he had a daughter with you of all things. It only heightens the risk, and given his reputation, a lot of people could benefit from this fact alone. And so, he keeps you and his daughter away from Seoul—away from all the danger that the city holds.
He takes time away from the public and from the gang problems that constantly plagued his entirety, and instead, he comes home to you and your daughter in a small town where you two lived comfortably—in a home where it smells and feels like home; how it’s not a place where it looked like it came from a cover of Architectural Digest.
“Daddy, can you sing for me?” his daughter asks one night. James does not often come home, and his daughter just knows that daddy is an important and busy person where he’s constantly talking to people. You did a great deal of hiding the fact that her father was basically a mobster, who was using a multitude of his connections to become the perfect candidate and politics.
“Mommy said you don’t want to sing anymore, but pleaaaaasseee?” she begs in that small voice of hers while clutching the very first stuffed toy that James had given to her when she was able to recognize what it was—a panda. “Mommy said that, hm?” he chuckles, brushing the strands of hair that were across his daughter’s face as he sat on the edge of her bed.
“Mommy’s wrong, because daddy likes to sing for his little princess,” James says with a tender smile. He thinks fatherhood initially didn’t suit him, but ever since you two had your daughter, he was embracing it very well. “Do you have any requests, little one?” he asks.
Even if James had wanted nothing more but to sleep beside you in your shared room together, he will make time to read a bedtime story to your daughter and lull her to sleep.
“Oh! How about Three Bears, daddy?” she asks excitingly, eyes beaming with eagerness to hear her father’s singing. *“Gom se mariga han jibe isseo!” she sings in a pitched voice, making James laugh quietly, pinching his daughter’s cheek lightly.
“Okay, okay. Daddy will sing it,” he gives in, clearing his throat as if he’s performing in a stadium—but in reality, he’s in his daughter’s room, performing with an audience of one.
**“Gom se mari ga han jibe isseo.. appa gom, eomma gom, aegi gom..”
*There are three bears in a bear family. **There are three bears in a bear family: a Daddy bear, a Mommy bear and a Baby bear.
GONGSEOP JI
“Is Zack coming by?” your daughter asks as she stands behind her father while he pretends to pray in front of the statue of Buddha.
She doesn’t see it, but Gongseop frowns at the question, adjusting his glasses as he turns around and gives his daughter a fake smile, as if he was elated that his very own flesh and blood was asking about his disciple—who was probably learning about English at the very moment. The boy was studying here a few days ago while you shamelessly pestered him.
Gongseop knows the harsh truth, and it’s the truth that he can’t swallow.
And according to Buddha’s Four Noble Truths, Dukkha means that life inherently involves suffering and dissatisfaction. Right now, Gongseop could heavily relate to the part where he is suffering and dissatisfied at the fact that his daughter had a crush on his disciple.
“No, he is not,” he says, putting a hand on her back as they walk outside of the temple. “But why?” his daughter asks, completely unconvinced. The little brat pushes on asking him questions, and to be fair, Gongseop had no idea when Zack will drop by because the kid was busy.
He was his disciple, yes, but he was like his own son or whatever—though the thought still makes him cringe. Him? Having a son like that insolent brat? No way.
(That’s what he says, but Zack grew on him like a leech.)
“He’s busy taking exams,” he responds to his daughter as they look at the city of Daegu. Being in the mountains meant that your daughter didn’t go to the city as often as she’d like, but Gongseop doesn’t deprive her of that. “Remember when he was studying here? That was for an exam.”
“Ooohhh,” his daughter says, though not totally getting the concept of an exam, still. After all, she was young. “When will he be back?” she asks, and it makes Gongseop roll his eyes.
“Sweetheart,” he calls out to his daughter, looking down at her. “Why do you keep looking for Zack?” he asks, though he knows the answer anyway. He just wants to hear it from her just to see if she’d make any random excuse.
“‘Cause I have a crush on him,” she says, as if she didn’t figuratively throw water right in front of his face. “Mommy says that it’s okay to have a crush.”
“Mommy said that?” he asks his daughter, a sour look on his face as he turns to look at the house that you three stayed in here in the mountains. “And you agree with that?”
His daughter only shrugs. “Zack is handsome.”
“No he’s not.”
“Yes he is!”
“His hair isn’t even that nice!” he starts to argue with his daughter, although playfully. He would not risk hurting her feelings. You, on the other hand..
“Why would you say that?! You’re bald, daddy!”
TAESOO MA
Taesoo loved your daughter very much. It was evident at how gentle he was with her, how he practically heeded to her every whim, even stopping to eat boars and snakes (from time to time) when she found out because it was dangerous to his health. That’s how much he valued her word and yours.
But now, he was faced with a challenge. “But why can’t I go the mountains with you, daddy!” she bawls, and Taesoo carries her in his arms, with a visibly helpless Hudson, as he tries to hush her crying. You weren’t here to help the two of them because you wanted to leave and have some time for yourself—a pamper day, if he remembers correctly.
“Sweetie—“
“Even Hudson gets to go! Why can big brother go and I can’t!” she argues, not even letting her father finish speaking as she cries on his shoulder, clutching his shirt as Taesoo and Hudson look at each other, both unable to know what to do.
“Mountains are for training,” Hudson explains gently to his master’s daughter, treating her like a little sister instead of being indifferent towards her—how he usually is to other people. “Plus, there are dangerous animals there. Big brother and your dad don’t want you to get scared,” he adds.
“He’s right, sweetie,” Taesoo takes on the conversation. “Daddy and big brother can protect you, but we can always choose other things to do,” he coaxes her gently, pulling her away from his shoulder so that he can wipe her tears for her with his thumb.
“Like what? I don’t wanna go to the mall,” she says, and it makes Taesoo chuckle. “Should we go to the park then? It’s pretty quiet during these hours,” Taesoo suggests, and Hudson quips. “We can go to Nojeokbong Falls. You like waterfalls, right?”
Your daughter nods.
“Good, we can go there and we can eat,” Taesoo agrees and your daughter goes over to Hudson, and he easily carries her like he was used to it (he is, you tend to be clingy to him).
“Can we go and feed some fish, big brother?” his daughter asks and Taesoo nods. “Of course. What else do you want to do, sweetie?” he asks this time, and his daughter says one thing after the other, which earns the attention of her big brother too.
Crisis averted, Taesoo thinks.
