I think "The AI says something in an eloquent tone that suggests an educated mind, with the confidence that suggests reliability and makes me doubt myself when I disagree, yet the thing it says is entirely made up, and when I say so the AI will not be reasoned with" is just a brick wall that everyone has to walk into at least once before they realize you can't rely on what bots tell you. I think we can tell people as often as we want, they have to experience it themself, personally, each and every one of them, at least once. It's easy to feel superior when you've had that experience in 2011 (fun too!), but some had it in 2023 and some will probably have it in 2025.

“BacksTagez träffar Tegnér” (sic) går väl att se som en pendang till “Sven-Ingvars i Frödingland” som hade släppsts något år tidigare. Plattan är dels ett exempel på Tages förmåga att surfa på rådande trender, och dels hans ganska missriktade strävan mot att bli accepterad i de finare salongerna.

i'm AWARE this is a stupid hill to die on, but like. trope vs theme vs cliché vs motif vs archetype MATTERS. it matters to Me and i will die on this hill no matter how much others decide it's pointless. words mean things

This is a friendly reminder to never, ever publish your book with a publishing company that charges you to publish with them. That is a vanity press, which makes money by preying on authors. They charge you for editing, formatting, cover art, and more. With most of these companies, you will never seen a cent of any royalties made from sale of your book. A legitimate publishing company only makes money when you make money, they will never charge you to publish with them. If a company approaches you and says "Hey, we'll publish your book, just pay us X amount of money," tell them to go fuck themself and block them.

Golden rules of the thumb 👍
got told at lunch "you feel like Tumblr Incarnate" and i had to tell them i've been here for 13 years and counting. i was here three years before dashcon happened. i saw the mishapocalypse. i survived the gigapause. i've been here longer than the shoelaces post. i've been here since it was hipsters versus fandom and i played both sides extensively by overdoing the sepia filters on everything and making my own flashing galaxy gif edits for my fandom posts. i'm every tumblr. it's all in me

“One of the things I know about writing is this: spend it all, shoot it, play it, lose it, all, right away, every time. Do not hoard what seems good for a later place in the book or for another book; give it, give it all, give it now. The impulse to save something good for a better place later is the signal to spend it now. Something more will arise for later, something better. These things fill from behind, from beneath, like well water. Similarly, the impulse to keep to yourself what you have learned is not only shameful, it is destructive. Anything you do not give freely and abundantly becomes lost to you. You open your safe and find ashes.”
- Annie Dillard
