Day 8
It was a tough weekend. In the past we would have said we failed and gone into a total binge and “started again on Monday”. This time is different, we didn’t fail, we learned. We actually looked into ourselves and why things got off track. It was the weekend, we worked hard and it was Kimmi’s birthday, perfect time to relax and have some fun. The guilt settles in, you regret, and you promise to do better, but starting only on Monday after a weekend of excess. But no, we looked into this, we discussed our feelings and why we are full of guilt. We made the decision to continue living life. We aren’t stopping to get healthy and fit. We are going forward with the lesson that this is life, and life will happen. No need to focus on extreme diets, yoyo cycles and binge weekends. Live with moderation and enjoy all of the aspects of life. There are no good or bad foods, just food. Some serve your goals more than others.
Heading into this week we are trying to work out together (crazy?) and see how that goes. Change up our schedules a bit and see how we feel in a few weeks.

Day 3 - March 15, 2018
Day 3 in the books. Was another day of dull headaches and detox challenges. Was also a day where the mind was being challenged. I didn’t eat enough in the morning and had major energy lull. I didn’t workout in the morning as I was too tired and that slowed me down mentally. This is one of those days where you basically question your own decisions for the entirety of the day. Why am I doing this? Will it be worth it? This is too hard. I’m just not cut out to be healthy and fit. etc.
You will need major will power and internal motivation to push through these days. Head down and just work. Keep busy and keep moving, don’t give yourself time to stop and overthink. Drink water to keep you full.

Day 2 - March 13
Today was tough, mostly mental. Really struggled being tired and having headaches periodically throughout the day and into the evening.
One thing to remember and talk yourself through was how you felt before. I remembered feeling like garbage after going for McDonald’s, both mentally and physically. I remember being down and just not wanting to be there anymore when I was eating crap and drinking a ton. So when my mind starts to play games when I am eating healthy, I focus on those memories and know that this is just a craving and a process of going through the detox. I don’t actually want to give in and quit, it is just a phase of the detox.
Regardless, got through day 2 and that was an accomplishment. I am prepped for day 3 and just going to take this one meal at a time, one moment at a time, one workout at a time. Don’t focus on the future, focus on the moment and achieve those small steps.

Getting Fit Log
Day 1 - March 12
Not a bad day, but challenging none the less. Struggled with some low energy and withdraw, whether actual or placebo/psychological. Maybe trying to go a bit too fast in one day, with going cold turkey on sugar, caffeine and alcohol. None the less, got through it and was prepped for day 2. Didn’t get a work out in, but need to give myself some time to get proper rest and energy. You have to remember (and I’m talking to myself here), that you didn’t get here in one day and you’re not going to get out in one day.
