Hmm, honestly, until now I’ve never given them much thought. I thought it was just a silly one-off line.

But now that I am thinking about it…

Maybe they symbolize the dolls? They “aren’t penguins”, but they look like it. The dolls aren’t human, but they look like it.

It might’ve been referencing that. I was going to look for the Japanese and see if it implied anything else… but I can’t find it.

I love when the asunaro is characterised as a workplace sitcom it’s so good. Like yeah they’re the horrible death game human experiment company and they revel in others’ suffering all in the name of God but also they argue about the budget. Like yeah we can’t have the crawfish death trap it’d cost too much. We cant get real lava for the lava trap sorry. I’ve been watching Penny Snapcube’s playthrough of Deltarune and I can’t get it out of my head that her voice for Kris would be perfect for Kai Satou from Your Turn to Die. It’s the dry delivery I think, something about it is so hilarious to me and I can’t stop imagining him talking like that.
