Eren was startled to hear his name. At first he thought it was Mikasa, before he remembered that she had extra lessons. He halted and turned, his eyes roaming the crowd until he quickly spotted Armin, frantically attempting to catch his attention. Eren raised his arm in a sign of recognition, worming his way out of the moving mass of his fellow trainees and into the lamplight, shining from its position on the side of a building.

He waited for Armin to catch up to him before asking, "Hey. What is it?"

Night descended slowly over the training camp, draping dusky clouds over the sky. The last vestiges of daylight drained away into a crimson smear on the western horizon, and lamps lit up all around the training camp. Trainees were flooding into the barracks, having just come from assorted types of lessons. 

Armin tried his best to blend in, joining the crowd from an adjoining building. It was more than just slightly difficult to be inconspicuous with one arm in bandages.

He fought his way through the throng, blue eyes scanning the crowd for the two silhouettes he wanted to see the most. He found only one.

"Eren! Wait!"
