Visions

Imagine you’re a princess. 

Since you were born a prophecy was made about you.

The Seer of your village leaved his tent to come to your mother when you just had born. He looked at you, still covered in your mother’s blood and he whispered to your parents the words that nobody ever understood:

“The Iron must fall for her eyes. The bear will come and claim this child as his own.”

You were raised without ever being able to go into a hunt ‘cause your father got a phobia of bears after hearing this prophecy, but something about this doesn’t fit for you. You never understood the Seer’s prophecy as something related with your death. Instead of it you were always looking between the lines, trying to understand what was the gods saying about your future.

One day, into a small travel to join a caravan from Kattegat to the temple of Uppsala, your carriage was attacked by pillagers. Most of your few men fell and you were caught from inside the carriage by a strange and huge man, with an enormous beard in his face and lots of hair. For an instant your heart skipped a beat and you almost heard the Seer’s voice on your head… “The bear”…

The man dragged you with him for some meters, throwing you over the ground, laughing. And you were about to cry, begging to the gods your thoughts were wrong, when arrows came from nowhere inside the woods, killing the men around him before an axe hit his face right in the jaw, killing him instantly.

A blond man, tall, fierce and now covered in your tormentor’s blood, stands beside the body, looking at you with a clear pair of blue eyes. He offer his hand to you, helping you to lift from the ground. Your dress is now ruined, so as your hair that beast had pulled so strong that caused you a headache. But you could only look into that two beautiful pieces stolen from the sky.

“Thank you”, you say. But before he can answer a heavy voice of one of his men echoes into the woods attracting his attention.

“Ironside! We still have men runing away!”

Ironside...

It echoed on your mind with the voice of the Seer… “The Iron”.

He seems to turn himself to leave, but you hold his hand and he turns his beautiful blue eyes to you again.

“What is my savior’s name?” you ask. And he curves his lips on a hypnotic smile that caught you completely.

“Name is Björn. I need to go. But I’ll find you again. Soon.”.

He leaves and you just stand there, savoring his name. The prophecy finally make sense and now you know that you have to find your bear once again…
