once we got back i created some initial mood boards to spark inspiration, i used cut outs from magazines as well as primary imagery and photocopied books.
since i chose the theme of the mouth, i wanted to support this by focusing on primary imagery so i did a mini photoshoot, and below show some of the pictures.

the mouth- otherwise known as the upcyclingproject, is a project commissioned by the Barnsley hospice to collect 5 pieces of denim from their warehouse as well as another piece of my own choice, in which i chose a wedding dress. we were asked to create a garment out of the denim about our chosen theme which has to be about the body, i chose the sub category of the mouth from the body brief. the images below show my visit to the warehouse

for my photshoot i was inspired by lighting photographer pete eckert, i used led finger lights mainly and fairy lights. i used long exposure as well as slow shutter speed. this allowed a light string effect.

i decided that i didn’t want to waste my illustrations as my actual ones were printed onto fabric, so i used them to make illustration boards, showcasing them with technical flats alongside.

after using my development from artists and fabric manipulation, i created a veriety of designs, this is a toile from my chosen design. because this was a live project we had to only make a top so that is what i designed. after the toile i made quite a lot of adjustments to the pattern. for example i made the shoulders more exaggerated, as well as making the neck piece shorter, so not as high into the neck, i made the fit boxier, so added more onto the side seam, and altered the hem slightly.
