Mom and I have arrived at the airport and after being dropped off courtesy of Scott & Son transportation services, we went to find some food and a television to watch the French Open. I’m proud to say that I resisted eating Panda Express for lunch for the third day in the row.

Delta lost my seat reservation, so Mom and I will be two rows apart (which at first was a little deterring, but upon further consideration, perhaps 12 hours of travel is best spent not within two feet of immediate family members).

Now, we are just waiting for our delayed plane to arrive, so we can head off to Boston and ultimately London. Our takeoff today has been a little bumpier than planned, but for the time being we have seats with a view and books in our hands. I think we’ll survive :)

I can't think of anything that excites a greater sense of childlike wonder than to be in a country where you are ignorant of almost everything. Suddenly you are five years old again. You can't read anything, you have only the most rudimentary sense of how things work, you can't even reliably cross a street without endangering your life. Your whole existence becomes a series of interesting guesses.
