The Grace of Life
Grace to be Born is a maternity home for women who are not yet prepared to become mothers.
Located at 53 Dr. Sixto Antonio Avenue, Kapasigan, Pasig City, this shelter is one of the foundation under Light of Jesus Family.
They take care of Infants and toddlers, unwed mothers and victims of sexual abuse.
I visited this place with my Light Group friends and was instantly mesmerized by these little angels.
The babies were so adorable!
Our friend Shellie cuddling a cherub.
A temporary shelter for young pregnant girls who thought abortion is the only choice they have.
preparing snacks for the staff
at your service! :P
Looking at them, I was thankful that this shelter was able to saved them. It must have been difficult being pregnant with no one to support you financially, emotionally and spiritually

CurlyLicious day at Beauty Brick Salon
I’ve been contemplating since last December on what to do with my hair. Close friends know how adventurous I am with my crowning glory despite its limited edition hair strands. Hahaha! (Yep! lahi namin ang manipis ang buhok). Though that didn’t stop me from trying different hairstyles.
The kikayness of me :P
I already had Digital perm 2 years ago at T&J Buendia . The result was okey but I’m not a fan when it comes to their customer service. This week I decided to have a Digi-perm again. After reading so many reviews on different Salons, I choose to visit Beauty Brick Salon at Jupiter Makati. I know it’s a bit costly versus the usual parlor here in Sta Ana so I saved up months ago just in case I’ll prefer curly over straight /rebonded hair.
Dona Consolacion Building near RCBC Jupiter St.
I made an appointment via text. I choose to be early since I anticipated heavy foot traffic in the afternoon. Dona Consolacion Building is easy to locate. Just look for RCBC bank along Jupiter St.
Beauty Brick Facade. I notice that from previous posts / reviews, the Salon’s name was painted at the top but now, it’s just plain white.
I arrived around 11:15am. There was only 1 customer that time. The staff greeted me cheerfully in unison. One asked for my name. Upon confirming my reservation, they accompanied me to the “shampoo area”
Hair Cleansing. I took this photo in the afternoon while my hair is under the “octopus machine” Many clients already arrived.
Basically, 2 to 3 staff will assist you during “Shampoo session”. One will wipe water from your ears and forehead while the other is holding a “transparent plastic shield” on your face to prevent water splash. ( Shoray! May ganern talaga! )
1st Medicine application
Japanese owner/stylist Mr Shin Gi Jin ( or is it Gi Jin Shin? ) personally assessed my hair condition. What I liked about him is that he’s very hands on. With the help of her assistant / interpreter Deborah, he explained to me that since my hair is fine, I should have medium curls. Mr. Shin also said that my hair tips were already damaged and needs to be trimmed. Before we begin, Deborah showed the products that will be used and explain the process. She also showed the total amount of the package. Mine is P3,700. After Mr. Shin cut my hair, 2 staff surrounded me to apply Keratin treatment.
Hey there Curlers!
After 10-15 minutes, They applied the 1st medicine, Staff consistently remind me to close my eyes.
The Octopus Machine. I do look funny here :P
This is quite heavy on the head.
Waiting for the 2nd medicine application
With the ever cheerful and accommodating staff Charlene and Andrea. Thanks girls for teaching me on how to take care of my curls!
Almost done!! My Goldilocks curls.
With owner / stylist Mr. Shin
Ta-dah! Sorry I was really hungry! The whole session was about 3hrs. Wasn’t able to bring any food. (tiis ganda!)
I was surprised that they encouraged me to comb my hair all the way to the tip after shower. My former Salon said I can only use my hand to detangle my curls.
Overall, I’m super satisfied with the result and customer service is spectacular! Oh! and they’re giving 10% off on 2nd visit! So, I’m definitely coming back. (ipon muna ako ulit)
If you want to have natural-looking curls, visit Beauty Brick Salon at Unit 103 Doña Consolacion Bldg., 122 Jupiter St., Bel-Air, Makati City, 1209. I’m not sure if they entertain walk-in clients. For reservations, contact them at 09175200044

Weekends at Tiptop Tower Suite, Dumaguete
Every time I’m out of town I always try different hotels and inns. When I went to Dumaguete, I checked in to Tip Top Tower Suite. It’s located near Robinsons and Ceres Bus terminal.
Hotel Facade. Pardon my photo, Wasn’t able get a clear shot.
Lobby area. it’s modern and classy at the same time.
The reception area… spacious with friendly and accommodating staff
The room is decent and tidy. I was actually surprised it’s a lot spacious considering its budget range.
Small bath room but the hot water is already enough for me. Ang babaw lang ng kaligayahan. hahaha!
and it comes with toiletries!! Not bad…
The food is also affordable. Ideal for those who are tired of going out.
Given the budget and basic room amenities, the hotel itself is surely a winner. However, I was extremely disappointed on how the staff manage their room reservations. Before I left, I asked the receptionist if my room is available in case I extend and she confirmed. Few minutes later they called and advised that I need to pack because they overlooked a “reservation”. I was in a hurry to go back and find another hotel. With all the trouble I went through… totally a major turn off! Hope they could improve in the future.

Niko’s Ark, Ormoc Leyte
Last time I went to Ormoc, I stayed at IA Lodge near the Port area and it was definitely one of best budget hotels in the city. However, since I intend to explore other lodging house and inns, I decided to stay at Niko’s Ark.
It’s located along Real St, just beside Security Bank. What enticed me was their sailor- inspired inn. It’s been ages since I traveled via ship. The ambiance was nice, I imagined sailing and savoring the beauty of sunset :)
Awesome hall way!
Loving the lobby area
I wasn’t able to take a pic of the bed because the bad lighting so I just took a snapshot of the bathroom. The room was noticeably small. This is the part where I got disappointed. It’s lousy, a bit old and shabby.
Dining area
Breakfast.. the usual corned beef with egg.
Everytime I’m in Leyte, I always look for Sophia’s breadshop, Loved their choco bread!!
It’s a typical bakery, but try the choco and jelly bread, perfect with coffee!
Also tried the street food. Sarap!!
Other than the thematic Lobby, Niko’s Inn is just an average lodging house. Given the budget range, there are other hotels in the area with spacious rooms and comfortable bed. Just explore!

Etsu Hotel in Tacloban, Leyte
I recently went to Tacloban and as expected, signs of recovery are evident since Typhoon Yolanda has struck the city. Though I’ve been there several times, the hotels and inns were noticeably expensive so while at the airport, I was browsing for the best affordable and decent inns. I finally checked in at Etsu Hotel downtown.
The lobby with their front line staff, Portia and Arianne who, by the way, were really nice and accommodating.
It was a bit creepy walking at the hall way…
My room…
The bed is comfortable for single occupant.
Bathroom was kindda old school but clean.
The dining area is simple but the interior makes it warm and welcoming.
that homey feeling,,
cute designs
Menu..
It’s conveniently located along Rizal Avenue, near McDonalds and Jollibee. You can have your evening stroll along Leyte park and down town for souvenirs.
So far, Etsu Hotel is the best hotel for budget conscious traveler.

The Evolution of Music
Sometimes, its OK to expect the unexpected. Seeing my fave band OneRepublic plus other music artists at MTV MUSIC EVOLUTION 2016 turns out to be the best night ever! Singer Bebe Rexha, Far East Movement, our very own Gab Valenciano and his father Mr. Pure Energy Gary V (proud Pinoy! ) made the crowd dance in the rain literally!
Also proud of Department of Tourism for all the impressive commercials showcasing our beautiful country.
Thanks for the invite Anne and Kiddo!
The rain didn’t stop us from enjoying the night!
Bebe Rexha sounds amazing! Loved the Monster under my bed song.
Korean Pop group APink. Such adorable girls!
Far East Movement!
OneRepublic definitely nailed it!... and yes Brent,,you got me the moment you played your cello at “Secrets”.
The extreme mixture of music genre made the whole night unforgettable. Loved how the crowd appreciate each artist in their most behaved manner. Police visibility was also evident which made me feel safe. Congratulatons MTV for a job well done! Looking forward on next year’s gig
Hey, I still got that magical effect on me. Wonder how many days till my “hangover” wears off. Lol

How to UN-complicate your life.
Every month, I look forward to Feast Bay Area’s GIG (Gathering in God) which is sponsored by Love Life Retreat graduates. It’s a forum that helps single people to enjoy life and God’s love. This month’s topic is really interesting plus the fact that I like the speakers so much I wouldn’t miss it for the world!
(photo grabbed from Feast Bay Area facebook page)
The room was jam-packed despite the heavy rain. Lovely couple Didoy and Mayi Lubaton sharing their personal experiences about marriage and finances.
Setting priorities like FAMILY among other things.
Practical tips
4-6 years of relationship is nothing compared to lifetime of misery if you choose the wrong person. #nonnegotiables
FAIL FORWARD. Failure helps you become a BETTER person, not BITTER person
Life is not perfect, but Failure is the best teacher life could offer. Just savor the pain and lesson learned then move on. God has better plans for you

Independence Day at San Rafael Church
I celebrated Independence Day with friends at San Rafael, Bulacan and we were lucky to have an “exclusive” tour with our local guide Krim and Jerome at their Parish Church. Turns out, this place is more than just Suman and Butse after all. It’s rich in historical facts and ghost stories as well. ( reminds me of educational trips back in high school )
History of Revolution
Bayan ng San Rafael
It was mentioned that a chapter of Noli Me Tangere was derived from this church. Allegedly, Crispin was beaten to death in this area.
A closer look at the painting
The “blood stain” of Crispin’s hand that inspired Dr. Jose Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere.
A traditional pulpit inside the church.
“Katipuneros” painting found at the entrance of the church.
The altar
My awesome friends! ( Photo credit to Sis Rowze )
I watched the documentary show that features San Rafael Church. The initial test of the blood sample gathered at the stone does not have blood origin at all. Though the rest of the stories are real.
