Keep Your 'Religious Sentiments' To Yourself, Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill - Kwesi Pratt Fires
Kwesi Pratt Jnr., a veteran journalist, has urged Ghanaians to keep their religious beliefs out of the anti-LGBTQ+ bill, which attempts to ban homosexual activities in the country. Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Majority Leader of Parliament, has made a similar appeal, and Kwesi Pratt has thrown his support behind him. "I will instead rely on Ghanaian culture since the Constitution does not suggest that our justice comes directly from the Bible or the Quran," the Majority Leader said about the bill during an interview with Okay FM which was monitored by kenfadskillsolve.com. Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-statements Bonsu's appear to have enraged some Ghanaians, but according to Kwesi Pratt, there is nothing wrong with the Majority Leader's remarks. During his comments on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo," Kwesi Pratt asserted forcefully, "I agree with him. Does worshiping a fetish god imply that all Ghanaians must worship a fetish god? So, should we pass legislation because of your belief in the fetish god?" He contended that because Ghana is a secular state, it is wrong for anyone to make legislation based on religious beliefs. "Not a problem! You can be a Christian, but it does not imply that every Ghanaian must be a Christian and work with Christian ideals… Because the constitution states that Ghana is a secular nation, and because Ghana is a secular nation, we do not employ religion to establish laws. So, if Hon. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu says something like that, I agree with him. Read the full article

AfCFTA Growth Requires A Common Currency, According To The MD Of The Bank Of Africa
Kobby Andah, the MD of the Bank of Africa, has stated that establishing a common currency and digitizing trade will go a long way toward ensuring the success of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). He said the financial sector has a significant role to play in the smooth and seamless implementation of AfCFTA, speaking at the 5th Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference with the topic "Fostering Trade and Trade-Finance in AfCFTA; The Responsibility of the Financial Sector." He believes that a united currency will help deal with differences in exchange rates between member countries, cutting transaction costs for cross-border businesses. “Digitalization of commerce will improve cash flow, cut the cost of conducting business abroad, help connect all enterprises without time limits, and allow businesses to easily access more clients across the continent,” he said. As a result, he believes the AfCFTA should include more than just tariff harmonization and customs regulations and processes. In order to realize the full benefits of the AfCFTA, Andah asked banks to give capital to enable local businesses to grow output. “With adequate investment, local businesses will be able to expand and diversify their production in order to compete across borders, which will be a significant boost to the African economy,” he says. Despite the arrest of the ‘Apor' kingpin, WASSCE Maths for 2021 have been leaked - Report
Mr Kofi Asare, the Executive Director of Africa Education Wach, has revealed that questions for the 2021 WASSCE mathematics paper, which was administered today, were leaked in the rogue Telegram group Jerusalema, which is run by Godfred Darko. With a social media post seen by EducationWeb.com.gh, the Education Economist expressed his disappointment in the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), which is in charge of the ongoing international examination. The administrators and moderators of the rogue group, he claims, posted the 2021 WASSCE Mathematics questions and answers to the platform hours after the examination paper was over at 8:30 a.m. “We were ecstatic to read of the arrest of the kingpin behind Jerusalem and, one of the apo selling platforms, only to realize that the portal had just published free math apo with answers today,” the EFF said. Last Monday, the Council announced the arrest of Godfred Darko alias Mr Phres, who is accused of being behind the leakage of WAEC's 2021 Physics and Business Management papers, which prompted the examination to be rescheduled. Security operatives are looking for additional rogue group operators in the area, according to a staff member of the non-profit organization who confirmed the arrest of the Jerusalem operator to EducationWeb. Nii Saka Brown's comments on Psalm Adjeteyfio have prompted a response from Kaywa, a well-known Ghanaian music producer. According to Nii Saka, who indicated in an interview on TV XYZ that he is still renting at his age, Mr. Adjeteyfio has failed in life. His remark has provoked widespread indignation. Gloria Sarfo had previously expressed her displeasure with his remark. Nii's statement, on the other hand, was deemed "unfortunate" by Kaywa. What a terrible statement…you don't kick someone who is already dead any further!" If you seem unable to offer, never let your comments impede others from doing so…helping others enables you to aid others when they are in need since you never know when it will be your turn. "Shalom," he commented in response to a post on ZionFelix's Instagram feed. It all began with Psalm Adjeteyfio's request for assistance with his rent. Read the full article

Should Psalm Adjeteyfio Live off Donations or The Fruits Of His Labor? - Stonebwoy Questions
Following the release of Psalm Adjeteyfio, Stonebwoy has highlighted several concerns. Psalm Adjeteyfio, a veteran Ghanaian actor, recently appealed for aid to pay his rent. The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, gave him GHS 50,000. As a result, Stonebwoy is wondering why the experienced actor relies on donations to survive. The CEO of Burniton Music Group demanded that the system be rectified. In a post seen by Kenfadskillsolve.com, he responded to this. “It's a Great Thing to Donate to Support People,” Stonebwoy stated. For uncle TT and the likes, sad scenario (albeit some seize on it for clout) Should someone who has spent his entire career as an actor rely on donations or the fruits of his labor? “Does this simply suggest that we're all going to hell? After working so hard from childhood to maturity to entertain your community, how come you've ended up as a charity case in your latter years? “Let's Fix The Royalty System….” Read the full article

Sadiq Abdulai Abu Threatens Shatta Wale, Saying, "I Will Beat You"
The conflict between Shatta Wale and Sadiq Abdulai Abu, the CEO of 3Music Awards, has taken a new turn, with the CEO apparently threatening to physically touch the controversial dancehall act. “If I see you in person, yeah… In a recorded recording that has gone viral, a person claiming to be Sadiq said, "You wale I will (will) beat you." The audio is a phone call in which Shatta Wale and another individual, whom Shatta Wale referred to as Leslie in the recording, can be heard. Shatta Wale recently took a shot at #FixTheCountry campaigners, telling them to mend themselves, and Shatta and Sadiq don't seem to agree on anything. The most recent incident occurred last week when Sadiq chastised Shatta Wale for advice he gave musicians about the types of music videos they should shoot. “Keep shooting music videos like you want to battle Jay Z,” Shatta commented in a post. One day, you'll wake up and wonder how I made so much money. And I'll tell you something.” Sadiq, who was designated as one of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) spokespersons on Creative Arts ahead of the 2020 General Elections, disagreed with Shatta as the role was being discussed on Hitz Fm's Daybreak morning show which was sighted by kenfadskillsolve.com. *Wale's arguments are empty and he is continuously going around in circles, he wrote. Who says you can't know how much money you're making on a song or video nowadays? It's shocking how such stories are allowed to fester.” Shatta, Read the full article

Achimota School And The Attorney General Drag Rastafarian Pupils Back To Court On Appeal
To challenge the High Court's decision to admit Tyrone Iras Marhguy and Oheneba Kwaku Nkrabea as Rastafarian students, Achimota School and the Attorney-General went back to court on Monday. As a result of their refusal to be enrolled, the boys filed a lawsuit against the Achimota School Board of Governors, Minister of Education, Ghana Education Service, and the Attorney General. The school had indicated at the time that the boys had to trim their dreadlocks, and that refusal to do so violated its rules and regulations. However, on May 31, the Accra High Court's Human Rights Division, chaired by Justice Gifty Agyei Addo, decided that the two students' fundamental human rights could not be constrained by school rules. Per the judgment, Achimota School and its supporters, including GES and the Attorney General, failed to demonstrate why the two kids should not be accepted. She based her argument on the fundamental human rights granted by the Ghanaian Constitution of 1992, particularly the rights of boys to education and religious freedom. In its appeal, Achimota School claims that the High Court erred in ruling that the school's rules and regulations requiring conformity in appearance are illegal and infringe on one's religious liberties. As a result, the school is requesting that the Appeals Court overturn the High Court's decision and require the plaintiffs to follow the school's rules if they choose to be students there. Coups are only celebrated by nation-wreckers – Nana B
Nobody should condone the toppling of legitimately elected governments, according to Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), whose father went into exile during the military administration for fear of persecution. “It is wildly disgusting, ethically unjustified, and plainly amounts to cluelessness if coups become the primary response to national upheavals and problems,” he stated. He was referring to the military's toppling of Guinea's government on Sunday, September 5, and how certain Ghanaians, notably the Fix the Country Movement's Convener, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, have hailed the situation. Barker-Vormawor, who is also a private law practitioner, said "Neho!" in a series of Facebook posts. The news of a military coup in Guinea is welcome. “I'm still waiting for confirmation that it worked. Hopefully, a new transfer mechanism will be implemented as soon as possible. Guinea will work once more.” “If only the Guinean people had corrected themselves, none of this would be happening!” wrote another user. “Please, Ghanaians, let us mend our ways. We don't want anyone to come up with any amusing suggestions. “The Constitution of 1992 should not be amended by the barrel of a gun! Our voices should be used to alter it. “No military has the authority to deprive us of our sovereign right to decide the fate of our constitution. Read the full article

Same-Sex Marriage Blessings Approved By Church in Wales Unanimously
After the new law was passed by the Church's governing body, the Church in Wales overwhelmingly voted that same-sex couples will be entitled to have their civil partnerships or marriages blessed. At a three-day gathering this week at the International Convention Centre Wales in Newport, a law authorizing blessing services for same-sex couples was approved. Following a debate, the law was passed with more than the required two-thirds majority. Before the vote, Bishop Andy John, the senior bishop of the Church of Wales, recognized that some people might see the policy change as a break from God's word. “However, every progress is to some degree a departure; something changes whenever there is a new representation of practice,” he told the audience. “Even if a change looks to be in line with a stated viewpoint, it is nevertheless a change. “There was change when the Church altered its mind about prohibiting meals with blood in it, or when the Church realized that slavery in whatever form was wrong. “The ‘authority of the eternal yesterday must not be a millstone around our necks, but rather serve as a foundation for a bold embrace of what God is doing in the world around us. Faith is always centered on the mission. “And being awake to God, to what might happen next, is an important component of keeping curious and open to new possibilities.” The Read the full article
