Politics and Social Movement

After this week’s class discussion, many things stood out and gave me a different perspective on how Social Media at times is used and abused or taken for granted. We live in a fast-paced technical world where constant information is thrown at us, direct comments made instantly positive or negative and the need for continuous attention for being liked, getting followed and reciprocating that immediate gratification. Sometimes we may not have the time truly needed to stop and realize what the other person is trying to express through personal thoughts or actions and we either dismiss them or have something negative to share that can actually hurt the individual. By being openly social and interactive online we risk exposure to backlash, or lead to   experiencing violent harassment threats made by possible cyber trolls to cyber stalkers. It’s difficult to function with anxiety and apprehension all because everything that gets posted is socially scrutinize by those anonymously hiding in the shadows of the internet.
