Hi, I've only just heard of asmr today after reading a comic about it! It sounds really neat. I was wondering if you could help me figure out if it is what I've experienced before as just what I would describe as a good, tingling feeling when someone brushes my hair or sometimes when someone is near me and helping me do something. It feels good in the pit of my stomach, too. I don't know if this is asmr but I was hoping you could help me figure it out! Thanks!

It sounds like it to me! I'm no expert but I know people can experience ASMR differently. I feel it mostly in my shoulders and it gives me a warm feeling in my neck and chest. Others can feel it in their head mostly but it can differ from person to person! Hopefully, someone will publish some scientific studies on it (since it is a very young concept) and let us know more physiological aspects of ASMR. Hope this helps!

Do you have some information about ASMR type A please?

From what I know, those who are Type A for ASMR don't need things like youtube videos or binaural sound to trigger themselves. They can just think about their triggers (like someone giving them a head massage) and they experience their tingles that way. I'm actually slightly jealous of Type A's since they don't have to deal with ASMR youtube videos that have surprise loud ads on the beginning. So lucky...

Unfortunately, I don't know many people who can experience tingles this way but if you do, send me a message! I'd love to hear about it!

why wont asmr work for me?

Maybe you haven't found your trigger yet? There are many triggers out there in the depths of youtube and even tumblr! Unfortunately, AMSR doesn't work for everyone for some reason. It's such a new concept actually. There haven't been too many peer-reviewed scientific studies on the neurology behind the phenomenon but with streaming sites like YouTube, the ASMR community has a place to grow and blossom. Hopefully, the scientific community will take notice and help me answer your question in the future!
