The theme of my playlist is symphony. This word commonly means a lengthy form of musical composition. A symphony usually consisted of multiple large sections or movements where at least one movement will employ a sonata. This means one instrument for example, a piano will play three movements. I decided to go with the theme âsymphonyâ because it is a word that has been romanticized in the music and arts industry. It signifies someone peaceful, beautiful, and powerful. For example, in lyric some might say âlet me be part of your symphonyâ or âI used to hear a simple songâŠnow I hear a symphonyâ. For the first piece the infamous and classical Symphony No 5 by Ludwig Van Beethoven is a piece that is a fast and cheerful chamber music work. I chose this piece because it was my initiate piece of music I tied with my theme. The work is a symphony and is part of a group of other symphonies. The piece of music had 108 beats per minute with a quick and steady tempo. This is whatâs so impressive about Beethoven. The symphonies opening notes (dun dun dun DUNNN) alert the listener it is meant to invoke a powerful and darker emotion. Emotions like anger and despair. The next piece of music I chose was the famous alternative / rock song by The Verve called Bitter Sweet Symphony. A symphony plays in the background which makes this song unique to its genre of music. This song is able to invoke strong emotions of a bitter sweet feeling. At first the lyrics are sad but the song quickly becomes uplifting. This song is played at 86 beats per minute. The keys mostly heard are A and E major. The jazz song I chose was Symphony in Riffs by Benny Carter. It is his most famous piece. Both the piece of music and Carter is known for the idiomatic alto saxophone which entices the listener. The tempo of this piece is 110 beats per minute which makes the song easily danceable. It invoked a feeling a joyfulness and can bring people together to dance and enjoy Carterâs saxophone. Under the rap and hip hop genre I decided to go with the song by Juice Crew, The Symphony. This song has an energetic flow that catches peopleâs attention. It has a smooth flow with the consonance towards the energy of the rap. The song is famous for being hip hops first posse cut and left a positive mark on music history and listeners of all races. The country song called Souther Symphony has a tempo of 89 beats per minute similar to the rock song I chose. This piece is played in D major with a 10B Camelot. This song invoke a feeling of reminiscing. Symphony for Blues starts off strong and bold with a quick tempo but midway through slows down. If one were to skip into the middle of the song without looking they would think the music changed. Auckland Symphony Orchestra perform Fisher's Losing It as part of Symphony 2019 conducted by Peter Thomas. Just like the previous piece of music it is played in D major going at a tempo of 125 beats per minute. The piece of music invokes feelings of happiness and makes listeners want to dance. It has strong energy.

The poem I chose was also a short song written by D.H. Lawrence, an English writer. The beginning of the poem expresses how an individualâs heart, specifically a womanâs has opened to romance after being closed off and spurn from love. The author uses the simile â As a field beeâŠbreaks from the winter-cell, to clamber up the warm grassâŠâ to compare how the womanâs change of heart towards the feeling of love is similar to that of a bee leaving the winter season and embracing the comforting warmth of the sun in a familiar field of grass. During the second verse the author creates a visual for the reader to imagine. The poet keeps using the previous bee for another simile, â love has crept into her summery eyesâŠsuch as his along the folded wingsâŠâ. This means the feeling of love slowing came back to the woman and showed through like a soft glow in her eyes just as the soft glow the sun warmed the bees wings with. Lawrence used alliteration in his poem. Almost every stanza begins with the word âloveâ. This poem does not use a specific rhyme scheme, but the reader can see the author does use rhyme in the first stanza (amber, clamber). The last two stanzas of the poem show a shift of the individuals actions towards the feeling of love. Just like the bed will spread its wings and begin to buzz and buzz the love the womanâs heart is filling up with is starting to deep outside of her thoughts and emotions and is starting to become noticiable to others. The poet also includes a metaphor in the last stanza of the poem, âlove flies delighted in her voiceâ again, keeping the bee analogy in the format of the poem.

Architectural Interiors
The domestic architecture I would like to start with is a one-floor family home. The interior space is divided into a few different rooms, including a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, four bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The dining room is situated at the front of the house and features large windows that let in plenty of natural light but also warm up the room, which could feel uncomfortable, especially in Florida. The kitchen is a functional and well-equipped space and connects with the living creating an open space in the middle of the house. The three bedrooms are located on the left side of the home, in the center is one bathroom, and the master bedroom is on the right, along with the master bathroom. The rooms are divided by walls to create a sense of privacy and intimacy. Each room has a unique style and feels. The division of interior space creates a sense of comfort and familiarity, making it a welcoming place for a family to live in. One place I inhabit regularly is my high school. The building itself is much taller and broader than my home. This architectural space contains various staircases and more than 40 rooms. This space can make a person feel small; to me, it makes me feel quite the opposite of what I feel at home. The lack of windows and long hallways gives the area a colder feeling. There is more professionalism required in this area. Each space achieves its goals differently.

The Iwo Jima War Memorial Replica sculpture is a historical monument that is located in my community of Cape Coral, Florida. The sculpture is one of three and was originally created by sculptor Felix de Weldon. This memorable sculpture weighs a whopping 67,000 pounds and was commissioned in 1964. The sculptures medium consists of: concrete poured over a superstructure consisting of rebar and steel. This American-famous structure was built to recognize the second flag raising in the island of Iwo Jima, Japan by the American Marine Corps. Dedicated to the 6,821 American service men who met death during the battle of Iwo Jima. The high-relief sculpture specifically depicts the five marines and single navy corpsman who raised the flag on Mount Suribachi in 1945. The six bronze figures stand tall in my community and shows the importance of our history and commutes to the death of all of the brave U.S. service men. The original Iwo Jima Monument is located in South Texas and the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial. The sculpture symbolizes American honor, courage and commitment. In reality to myself and most Americans, the monument means a lot more than the raising of a flag. The sculpture represents the pride and the importance of standing by your country. Essentially it has shown the nationalism of the citizens of the United States for the past 70 years and definitely will keep completing its quota for making Americans proud and reminding the U.S. of its history and how crucial it is.

The piece of work I chose was Edgar Allen Poeâs âThe Ravenâ. The narrator (male) begins the poem sitting by a fire when he is interrupted by a loud thump at the door to what he presumed was someone knocking. Scared and worried, he opens the door only to be greeted by a raven who calmly perched upon a statue of the Greek god Athena. He talks to it and the black bird told the narrator itâs name was Nevermore. The bird and itâs name messed with his head so much he made conversation with the animal and kept asking it questions. The narrator goes slightly insane and becomes depressed after relating the birds name to the loss of his past lover, Lenore. He knows she will return ânevermoreâ. The way everything tied together in this poem was extremely satisfying to me. The symbolism that stuck out to me was the raven symbolizing a painful heart ache and never-ending remembrance, in this specific story it is the narrators lost love. The raven helps him realize that Lenore will return ânevermoreâ which is something he never wanted to admit although he knew it was the reality of things. This interaction with the mysterious raven fills the man with fear and sorrow. The narrator later describes the ravens eyes as âof a demonsâ. He sees the truth, the raven, as evil. When in reality it is just the hard painful truth of mourning someone you have lost for good. The feeling of lost and despair the narrator felt after losing the love of his life basically drove him to complete madness. This poem essentially shows that the grief you feel after losing somebody you care deeply for can haunt you and affect your way of living forever. The poem is almost bitter sweet and leaves you feeling melancholic especially if you can relate to the mourning of someone you have lost whether it be to death or other partings.

Hello, my name is Keylin Juig. I am a senior in high school and have been taking dual enrollment classes since my sophomore year. I am the president of the National and Hispanic National Honors Society. I also created my own club at school relating to mental health called Real Talk; and manage my high schoolâs basketball team. When I go to college I want to major in biology and chemistry and minor in anthropology. The humanities course interested me for this reason. Comparing the human society across the globe in time is riveting. On a side note, my hobbies include reading and going to the gym.
