I think Bong Soon has a lot of mental strength too. Even though she was totally powerless and strapped to a bomb and she felt like she literally can't do anything to save the person she loves, she was still strong enough to feel like that was the happiest she felt since she was born, and that says something.

I don’t agree with the harsh opinion of Bong Soon, especially all the “all brawn no brains” talk because that’s marginalizing it. Neither do I think that Bong Soon is stupid or has “reduced” number of brain cells. Yes, she isn’t as highly intelligent as MH is but few people are. She is extremely loyal and devoted to the few people she loves and she will always choose their safety and well-being above hers. She will act first and think later but that doesn’t mean she is an idiot, she simply acts as her heart tells her, unfortunately, with complete disregard to her own safety. And I can’t blame her for it because I think I would have done the same in her place.

It’s all because of her supernatural strength - she has never been physically hurt in her life, she has never been the weaker party when faced with an opposition and this caused her to be unafraid of her own safety. And there is another thing - remember, how she repeatedly called herself a monster today? It suggests she still sees herself as odd and doesn’t love herself fully. In that aspect she reminds me of Kenshin who thought that his life was worthless and was ready to sacrifice it for those he loved because he thought his own life to be worthless or inferior. Therefore I think that SWDBS is Bong Soon’s story, IT IS HER JOURNEY TO FIND HERSELF AND FULLY LOVE HERSELF and this journey didn’t end when MH confessed to her; it still continues, her character still evolves and develops; HER STORY CONTINUES and there are still 3 episodes to go.

Honestly, I feel there are so many people who view Bong Soon as some sort of one-dimensional character who is defined only by her supernatural strength, and don’t see her as the complex, strong and vulnerable woman who has had to DEAL AND LIVE WITH THAT POWER ALL HER LIFE; they don’t see the little girl who was abducted by a kidnapper herself and now finds herself once again in a similar situation.
