When I had a theory that he had a mother who was really rough with styling his hair (and thus he hated it).....only for canon to come along and slap me with him having a daughter who is depicted happily with multiple different styles. So yeah, feeling at least some vindication that Aaravos having a daughter who loved having her hair done was therapeutic for him.
