The sound design I wanted to go for was location reveal. I took a video of a glass pane and it shows off a futuristic, sci-fi, neon world. The music starts off slow and once we see the reveal we can hear there is a shift in the music creating a feeling of amazement and wonder.

Script Writing Part 2
Title: The Breakfast Betrayal
INT. APARTMENT KITCHEN - MORNING
A, B, and C sit around the kitchen, A aggressively rummaging through the fridge. B scrolls on his phone. C leans back, sipping coffee smugly.
A: Bro, I was dreaming about breakfast. Like, perfectly fluffy scrambled eggs, a little cheese, some hot sauce, and toast so good it crunches just right.
B: (not looking up) That does sound fire, but you checked egg prices lately? Might as well just take a picture of an omelet and eat that instead.
C: (grinning) Welcome to the eggless future, boys. I’ve been waiting for this day.
A: Oh, shut up. We’re all suffering, and you’re out here acting like a damn prophet.
C: Not just a prophet. A visionary. First, eggs get too expensive. Then, people give up. Slowly but surely, everyone joins me in the bliss of egg-free living. Finally, I’m no longer “that guy” for avoiding eggs like my life depends on it. Which, y'know, it kinda does.
B: Yeah, yeah, we get it. You’re allergic. But, dude, I’m not trying to go vegan just because my wallet can’t handle poultry inflation.
A: (groaning) Okay, but what the hell am I supposed to eat now? Oatmeal? I’m not some pioneer settler in 1823. I need something with flavor.
C: (mock serious) Consider...tofu scramble.
B: Oh hell no.
A: I’d rather eat my own socks.
C: (shrugs) Then starve, bro. That’s your only other option.
B: What about pancakes? Or waffles? French toast?
C: (grinning wider) Hate to break it to you, but...eggs.
A: (slamming the fridge shut) This is a betrayal. A full-blown breakfast betrayal.
B: This economy has us out here mourning omelets like lost loved ones.
C: (raising his coffee) Thoughts and prayers to your cholesterol dreams, boys.
A: I hate you.
C: Love you too, buddy.

For my costuming I did Gallimard from Act 1 Scene 7 where he is in his apartment speaking to Helga, it is the same as my set design assignment. The visual I went for is diplomat from France, who is clean cut and not too flashy but still professional looking. He has a suit that is double breasted and if I could color it in it would be a dark navy blue with a cream undershirt, the tie would be a deep maroon red with a slight pattern to the tie giving it depth. I threw on chelsea boots for him, I do not know if that is accurate but I did not really know how to draw fancy shoes and my representation of chelsea boots are an upscale version of a dress shoe that is black patent leather with a slight heal to it so you hear him when he walks.
The second part of my costume from scene 7 is the change into a casual suit. He is coming back to his diplomatic apartment and looking to get cozy. I went for the same facial look but now he seems a bit more lax not as stuck up and the colors are lighter, for the suit jacket i would do a light green and the t shirt under is a light grey. For the pants he's wearing slim khakis and shoes are simple white tennis shoes. The outfit is meant to allow him to relax and get comfortable for the night. Neutral and mute colors let him feel more at ease.

Egg Fiasco - Script Writing Part 1
A. Bro I really wanted scrambled eggs in the morning, with cheese and hot sauce with some perfectly toasted toast - mmmmm.
B. that does sound pretty good but eggs are so expensive bro, might as well eat a print out version of it
C. (grinning): thats some real wishful thinking. get used to it boys we're going into the eggless future ive always dreamed about
A. Yeah, we’re suffering, and you’re out here acting like you predicted this.
C. I kinda have predicted this...with like anyone who's ever listened to me rant on and on. First, eggs are expensive. Next, people give up and go vegan. Before you know it, I’m no longer the “weird guy for not being able to eat eggs or anything egg related because ill go into anaphylactic shock and potentially die at the slightest contamination"
C. Can’t wait to visit your place and see a completely empty apartment except for a frying pan and a carton of overpriced eggs.
B. He’d still have his couch. Gotta have somewhere to cry after paying the bill.
A. You guys suck.

Set Design for Scene 7 - M Butterfly
I chose to do the alley set.
For the scene I chose I do not need to many things in terms of big set pieces, I more so need space and the attention of the audience on either side that way they can see and hear the conversation.
Scene 7 is the scene where Gallimard and Helga are talking about how Song does not like to perform M Butterfly but it is for the foreigners.
5. Upon doing some research on what diplomatic apartments looked like in the 60's, I have seen the basic essentials like a bed, closet, desk and couch. There is an addition of a mirror since Gallimard is changing suits in the beginning of the scene with the closet next to the mirror for practicality. In some of the pictures I saw as well as my own interpretation made me add in a room divider that is something that every apartment comes with as a traditional piece of furniture in the east. Knowing that they are from France, I have also added a bar for Gallimard and Helga to wind down with since ending the day off with a drink is more a western practice and places like a diplomatic apartment would definitely have some sort of alcohol. I did not have coloring supplies on hand but the colors would be earthy and pastel tones for the furniture and bed. Red for the flooring or carpet, the wood color would also be a bit darker, almost like a cherry wood. The darker and a bit more muted colors goes to show how foreigners do not really care for the aesthetics of where they are staying in Beijing but they care about practicality.
