So I'm a big lover of the theory that Goldheart and Dr. Flug are brothers. Especially seeing how Goldheart reacted like an exasperated sibling at the end of Episode 6!

So here's a little thing I made whilst fighting art block! I headcanon the pair as twins solely for the tragic twin/twin rivalry tropes, and this kinda features a bit of my Goldheart power headcanon

I imagine their parents are both heroes-- their father the previous Goldheart, their mother his "sidekick". When the twins were born, the two were completely set on making one son Goldheart and the other his sidekick-- but while Herbert naturally fell into the role of Goldheart, Kenning just... Couldn't get the hang of heroism.

It's not that he was naturally evil, far from it! He was just like his family in having a literal heart of gold-- deeply empathetic and an overall good boy growing up even despite being bullied from his first year of school and onwards.

So his family honed in on Herbert. His powers developed sooner than Kenning's, he grew bigger and faster, and he seemed somehow more focused on helping others. He became the golden child both figuratively and literally, and Kenning was pushed aside and forgotten-- as was their little sister (my OC Viven).

Kenning grew resentful. And that hatred for his brother only grew when the girl who was his best friend, his love interest, fell for Herbert instead. That was what made him snap and turn to villainy, that deep betrayal from someone who didn't even seem to understand what he was doing wrong.

After he turned 18, Kenning left home-- going on various minor crime sprees and trying to sucker up to villains in Atreno city to be their sidekick. It never worked for years, so at some point he used his pilot's licence to steal a plane and leave.

He crashed into Hat Manor, and Black Hat granted him one chance to prove he was useful-- otherwise, he'd kill the scrawny young man for daring intrude.

All it took was Kenning to show off his intelligence to be hired. He changed his surname from Leth to Flugslys-- Plane Crash. He hid his face to further distance himself from his family and his powers.

His powers flare up frequently, especially when he's under high stress or with strong emotions. He doesn't have all of Goldheart's powers, but he has about half + his own unique powers that very rarely pop up aside from his intelligence.

From the Goldheart line, he gained illumination-- in which his heart, eyes, and hair begin to glow brightly. In some cases, the glow begins to spread from his scars. He also got minor flight, but since he never exercised the ability, the most he can do is jump really high or kinda hover just enough to reach high shelves, but it's extremely exhausting. He did NOT get the strength of his family, but he did get extreme durability.

His own powers are, of course, his intelligence-- as well as the ability to, only under the fear of death, absorb electricity from his surroundings and release it in powerful incapacitating bursts. His strongest outbursts are enough to kill a normal human man.

After contracting EWD (Ectoplasmic Wasting Disorder) from repeated Blood Blossom exposure, things stop feeling real for Victor-- and he starts to finally come to terms with the terrible cards he was dealt by his creator.

They might have been the only ones to receive any form of kindness from the ghost king, Six though to himself.

It wasn't much, but Pariah put up with the four of them. He listened to Six ramble for hours when the researcher would hover around him, incessantly chattering about the intricacies of ectoplasm's make up.

He'd spar with the Fright Knight, taking care to not cause too much damage, and he would patch the warrior up when he did take it too far.

He'd watch the twins train, two young ghosts who were an equal part of all three of them-- two ghostly royals who would one day follow in the footsteps their father, hand in hand, and control part of the realm.

He was kind to them, in his own way, gentle and loving.

Six exhaled as he looked over the Ghost Zone. Both ancient and still so young-- there was much to be discovered, and many spirits for his king to conquer. It was exhilarating to imagine, that he was so close to something so great and beautiful.

One of his pointed ears twitched, hearing the grand doors behind him open-- and suddenly he was back in reality, standing on one of many balconies on the highest towers of Pariah's castle. He turned halfway, red goggles fixating onto the doorway and ectoplasm hair aimlessly floating behind the movement.

The Fright Knight walked out of the ornate wooden doors, footsteps resonating against the emptiness of the room behind him. For a weightless creature, he always seemed to stomp around like he weighed a neutron star.

"Did sparring go well?" Six questioned in a knowing, energetic tone-- a deep huff escaping the larger ghost. The doors shut with a loud thud, and Six found himself being used as support for the Fright Knight's frame. Six chuckled, looking out over the void again-- at the free floating floating ectoplasm that seemed to be ever changing and ever moving.

"The twins are stronger than I expected." His partner finally spoke, in a voice much deeper and more powerful than his own light, chipper one. Six nodded, leaning back slightly against the armor-clad chest behind him.

"As I suspected," he started, "they're learning very well under you and the king."

"Too well." The Fright Knight rumbled. He rested his hidden chin atop Six's head, and not even the ectoplasm that formed the researcher's hair could illuminate what his under that helmet. "Not that it is a bad thing, they must be powerful if they are to fulfill their duties."

"They're children, they'll continue to learn." Six reasoned. The Fright Knight hummed in agreement, his arms coming to close around the spectral researcher's shoulders-- a gentle act of affection that was reserved exclusively for him.

The two sat in silence, staring out over the Zone.

The peaceful sight was eventually broken by the sight of a distant cluster of ghosts far in the horizon. Nocturn and Axolations, two of the ancient eldritch ghosts that created the Ghost Zone-- followed closely by six smaller ghosts. They weren't getting closer, but we're clearly going to some sort of destination.

The Fright Knight let out an indignant sniff, standing upright and letting Six go. "I'll go alert our King." He stated firmly.

Six nodded, but his mind was already miles away as the Knight left him on the balcony...

He wondered what they were up to.
