So this was entrance requirement for university in South Africa, 2014, at Witswatersrand Universirty.
1. Drawing of my routine or journey to high school every morning. In order it would be sleep, brush teeth, get dressed with uniform (tie), walk to school down the road. I incorporated the lane i walk through, the map of my journey, myself walking to school and a landscape drawing of my high school.
2. Is an essay about my opinion on sustainable architecture, it is a topic that is very relevant to the 21st century and i consider it very important. The world is evolving and expanding at a fast rate, resources are being used up, population keeps growing and the amount of land or space available is decreasing. Restoration and changing the function of dilapidated buildings could prove as a solution to future problems.

Cnceptual spatial organisation model of an urban area I created, each structural form creates its own space within or around itself. That theme or style is the replicated through out the design to bring out repetition to over exaggerate the style and bring about an overall design tied in with all the structural forms.

Shanghai in all it’s glory, this could be one the greatest architectural cities i have ever experienced. Standing in awe with the impressive scenery of the city, eye-opening to what happens when you combine architecture, creativity, imagination, mathematics, physics and understanding, the result is nothing less than amazing.
One goal of mine is gain knowledge all of the world, it gives a new perspective on my view of the world and especially with regard to architecture. No amount of knowledge is enough knowledge.
These are pictures I took during my visit to Shanghai, China.

There’s just something about sketching with ink that is so intriguing, can’t tell whether it’s the fact that if you make a mistake you cannot erase it or that all the imperfections, flaws and accidental lines are shown.

This is a small abstract model created to resemble the largest cities across all countries. Each of the biggest cities in the world have the tallest skyscrapers, and other buildings at different heights. The constructs in this model contrast each other in colour, height, design and texture.

I’m currently studying architecture in CHINA, my first year again. It’s different here, completely different to the spaces and architectural forms of South Africa.
This countries infrastructure is increasing at a very high pace, it’s like a new building is constructed almost every week. With a population so immense, it defines the spaces designed to suit people’s needs, apartment living, small intimate living spaces right next to each other and high-rise commercial buildings seem to be the trend.
I’m very much interested in residential architecture, and particularly used to the common spaces and home designs found back in South Africa. So all of this in China brings great insight, exposure, knowledge and a different perspective on residential living.
Took this photo on a walk early in the morning in Ningbo city, Zheijiang province.
