Oh ? What’s that on the ground ? A rose… There is a message attached to it:

Hello my dear, would you like to play a little game ?

You see this rose ? It is a present for you. It is nothing but a bud for now, but once you will take it in your hand, it will take a form that reflects your true feelings. 

Now here is the game: you have the choice to give that rose to someone who deserves to see your true self, or keep it for yourself, hide it, and protect your emotions.

If you choose to give the rose, you will get closer to the person who received it, but only if they accept your present. If they toss the rose away, wether they do it in front of you or behind your back, you will know it, and it will hurt you more than any physical wound ever could.

If you keep the rose to yourself, you will not get hurt (not for now at least), but your feelings towards the person you like the most will slowly fade away, until they become nothing but a stranger to you. There is nothing you can do to prevent that from happening if you make that choice.

Take this game as a little wager. But instead of betting money, you bet your feelings.

Whatever choice you make, be sure that it is the right one.

[Yuri stared at the note, looking over to the bud still on the ground. "Reflect her true feelings"..? What did that imply, what would it look like? But the scarier part.. seemed to be giving the rose away.]

[Who would she give it to? Who deserved to see her "true self"? A friend? But which friend, how would she be able to choose..?]

[Frankly, she didn't want anyone to see her true self. She'd made an effort to hide it from everyone. They'd view her differently, she knew that they would. She didn't want to be pitied. She didn't want them to stay out of obligation.]

[But if she didn't give it away.. her feelings towards the person she cared for the most would fade..? She didn't even know who she liked the most, but she didn't want to forget them.. that itself sounded like a fate worse than death.]

[Yuri bent down, picking up the rose and watching it bloom before her eyes, slightly wilted around the edges. What a sad thing to give to someone.]
