being a writer leads to a genuinely helpful but also very stupid kind of mindfulness where you'll be having a sobbing breakdown or the worst anxiety attack of your life and think "okay, I really need to pay attention to how this feels. so I can incorporate it into my fanfiction."

There's a lot of Danny and Izuku on my dash so I decided to combine them. I think it'd make a really fun Au. Kinda half assed the design tho...
To most people he's just some kid who goes to U.A's general studies course and gets bullied pretty often. Little so they know he fights ghost as a phantom and protects the city from things the heros can't normally see. He can also see OFA's past vistages and talks to them frequently. Eventually Principal Nedzu finds out and shoves him into 1-A.

I just reada really good fic but halfway through I realized "oh shit this is really familiar.... didn't I write something like this once?" And as I kept reading I kept predicting what happened next and the further I went the more convinced I was that they'd ripped off my story-
like, copied the ENTIRE plot and re-written it, just better than I had? The characters were more fleshed-out than mine were, and the POV was more interesting, and the pace made more sense- but it was MY STORY?
So close to the end I was like "holy shit.. do I message them? Ask if my story inspired theirs? Should I be angry? Flattered?" Cause their tags and description didn't mention me AT ALL, which, sure, it's fanfiction to begin with, but if you're using my work than at least credit me as inspo, right? Just to be courteous?
But I get to the end of the final chapter, and it's not finished, and I'm kind of disappointed cause I never finished my story and I was really immersed in their version now and had been looking forwards to seeing how they tied up my loose ends- so I scroll to the bottom to leave a comment, and.
It's MY URL.
IT WAS MY STORY THE WHOLE TIME.
THE ONE *I WROTE*.
In *2013*.
And FORGOT ABOUT
BECAUSE I WAS SO INSECURE ABOUT MY SLOPPY, SHALLOW, AMETEUR WRITING
And I'm just sitting here now staring into space thinking about every shitty story I've ever written now like
IT WAS ALL GOOD?
IT WAS GOOD THIS WHOLE DAMN TIME??
I'M A GOOD WRITER?????

Day 287: The Sentient Lesbian Em Dash — My Favorite Punctuation Mark — Gets Me Off
This one is so fun!! And it has a great flow to the narrative because, for a meta tingler, it doesn't do much direct fourth wall breaking. This one does something that sets it apart - something more subtle - by incorporating the living punctuation characters into the writing itself. (Yes, it isn't just the em dash. I felt kind of called put when the protagonist was complaining about the comma, honestly, I personally struggle with the temptation to just use commas to continue out the sentence forever, include asides to sentences that don't really need them, or could make a perfectly fine sentence on their own, and so on,)
This is exactly the kind of tingler I'm talking about when I say that I enjoy how tinglers sometimes take the same themes and revisit them. We have another writer protagonist who's looking for inspiration and desiring to improve her craft. It's a very familiar tingler set-up at this point. This tingler - and all others that start with that premise - keeps it fresh and entertaining by showing another of the infinite possibilities that come from that one starting point. The writer's approach is more technical this time - rather than many of stories that center on the emotional aspects of writing - but this tingler shows that the technical approach can also produce something creative and beautiful!

the most disorienting thing thats ever happened to me was when a linguistics major stopped in the middle of our conversation, looked me in the eye, and said, "you have a very interesting vernacular. were you on tumblr in 2014?" and i had to just stand there and process that one for a good ten seconds

Transformers: Phantom Planet - Prologue
Last night I was on the grind. I figured out an entire season 1 arc for this. Like no joke. I really want to expand on my idea more, cause I think there are some really interesting ideas and concepts from both franchises I can play with.
I actually wanna try making this into a webcomic. But, I admit I'm really bad with long term projects like this. There is no guarantee I'd finish this lol.
Anyway this is just a taste, lemme know what you guys think
(Oh and thank you @raeblog-reblog for Danny's Autobot name!)

The problem with commercial F/M romance is that it's written by the most heterosexual women alive and reading it you feel yourself slowly suffocating from the Gender of it all like a fish in a eutrophying lake. And what we actually need as a culture is F/M written by insane bisexuals violently allergic to heteronormativity
