Learning to draw. Any tips for beginners?

YES I GOT YOU

Had to get my Pinterest out for this

-Okay so first, this should be obvious but use refs, I use refs all the time, for poses, to see how lighting works, and other stuff. REFS ARE KEY

-Second, don’t jump straight into detail, just get a basic sketch in first than you can get to line art and all that fun jazz (I don’t usually follow this rule but I started since I’m trying to get my anatomy and proportions correct

-Third, don’t be afraid to take breaks, art takes time and sometimes you might get caught up in trying to finish a drawing, you will end up rushing and it won’t come out the way you want it to. I have fallen for this many times, so just telling you to take breaks

-Fourth, this is mostly a personal tip but look up different art styles and artist that you like, pick a few things out that you like and try to replicate it, but once you get the hang of it turn it into your own thing. An example of mine; so I look up to this creator named mouse (nn0us3) (awesome moot, recommended you check them out), and I take a lot of inspo off of his rendering style, but I changed a few things so it fit what I like (mouse I am so sorry if you see this)
