Day 6
12:30pm-3:30pm
The grading critera was given to me for my one to ones with the students, i gave feedback to some of the students and me and another member of staff got the students project proposals ready for submission. I am applying for a Diploma of Education at Warick University after my degree, this is a level 7 course so i can teach students from the age of 16 and work in adult education. This placement g has helped build my confidence greatly, i love working with this age group it is very rewarding. I am continuing to attend this college as part of the staff team until the end of the academic year and I will return next year part time to gain more experience.

Day 5
9am-12:30pm
I was working with the Level 2 students to develop their FMP’s, the deadline has been pushed back 2 weeks to the 4th June and the exhibition to the 11th. So with the extra time I advised the students to get their research journals up to date as its worth a big part of their grade. We have had some hiccups with some students projects because of space and material issues but everyones work is of a really high standard and im excited for the exhibition.
12:45pm-4pm
Level 2’s deadline is the 17th May. This afternoon i helped visual Comunication students with slow shutter speed photography. I helped students with new medias and proposed research ideas. workimg with Level 2 is really rewarding, i enjoy seeing how suggestions i and the lecturers make help and can influence a students way of thinking. Some of the class will come back next year for level three and i intend on coming back 1 day a week to build up my placement hours.

I am so happy to be apart of this charity, they asked me to go to Aston University on the 2nd May to take my photograph with my design and they want to give me a Certificate for my support and design. I think this project was a success, i created a design early in the project that was successful, i developed it further into a brand through social media and donations came through. 25 of my bags are now out there raising awareness for Birmingham homeless and the money ive raised will go towards food, clothes and shelter. I am happy that i could complete a project that i was so inversted in, that really mattered to me and i helped people in the process.

DAY 3 & 4
Timetable and Target Setting
9am-12:30pm: This morning I did target setting with a Level 3 class, some students had recently come back form Madrid on the Erasmus scheme so had fell behind slightly. So help then to explore some of their primary research from their trip. We looked at targets for the following week and how they could progress their project further in the next 3 weeks for the hand in.
12:45-5:30pm: I worked with the Level 2 class today helping some students to concentrate on there studies, we looked into lines, colour and the themes behind there work.

Displaying posters
The leaflets and posters were successful, i put them in every locker on the first and second floor to lead people to the show. The posters i placed in reception and above my stall to show the prices. I slod almost all my stock and raised £40 from the show. A volunteer from Help Birmingham Homeless charity told me to take out some for my expences, so in total I have rasied £110 total.

layouts for exhibition stall
I tried out a few different layouts for the exhibition. I thought that the floor based work did not work out when displayed as viewers would have to look down to see the work. The hanging piece did not show the bags patterns as well as i had liked. So i decided to set up a stall like a market as they were being sold.

Day 2 at BMET College
10am-11:30am
This morning i was talking to the students in the Foundation Visual Comunication class. I was getting to know each student indervidually and went through their work in a 1:1 process. Each student struggled with something different, research, ideas and processes. I gave advice where i could. I think being here i bridge the gap between staff and student and ive gained insight by being here. Im not a staff member but ive been in the same situation as most of the students so I really hope my advice has helped.
12:30pm-3:30pm
With the level 2 class I was assisting the class to keep them on track with there projects. Some of them were finding it difficult to find inspiration in their work so I tried to help some students find research books in the libary and photocoping them for their SRJs we were also photocoping there own work to work back into.

Day 1 professional practice at BMET Art and Design College.
1.15pm-4pm
Afternoon Session: This afternoon I worked with Level 3 students. This group of students are fine artists, they have to complete a final piece over 13 weeks, i joined the class in there 6th week so they had a lot of work to show me. I was told by staff that the artist research element of the students projects needed some improvements, so they asked me to talk to each student and give them some advice. They asked a lot of questions and seemed invested in what i was telling them. I suggested some ideas and references for each student and gave them a feedback sheet, my afternoon also consisted of photocopying reference books and students art work while the lecturer gave a demonstration. I’ll be working with level 2 students tomorrow.

Day 1 professional practice at BMET Art and Design College.
10am-12pm
Morning Session: For my first session I helped student with there final Foundation projects. I worked alongside staff to give advice and practical help in the 3D class. Some students were finding it hard to be analytical in their SRJ’s (Studio Reseach Journals) with artist research so I gave some advice on how i manage my research at university. The student were really interested to here how uni life differs from college and I think a small amount of insight helped. I am really enjoying working with students to support them through their studies so far. This afternoon I am helping level 1 and 2 with their SRJ’s.

Finished leaflets/posters
I love how these have turned out! The contrasting colours are so bold and the information is to the point. I will print these and paste them in the School of Art and in Birmingham. Shepard Fairey’s work inspired both my prints and these posters with his block tones and colours.

Leaflet ideas.
In photoshop i created these risograph style images, but increasing the noise and hue of the images. these i like for my posters to advertise awareness for rough sleepers. the colours i really like, they are eye-catching, bold and bright but i feel they could be more interesting. I want to incorporate the two-tone images from before.

Advertising my tote bags and screen prints.
I advertised my project on my Facebook and Instagram profile, and the response was fantastic! within two days i had sold out of tote bags and I am now having to make more. With donations I have currently raised over £100 and i will be selling more prints and tote bags when i can print more. I am so happy that my print design is this popular and is getting the message across, that is all i wanted for my project and its a success.

\the exhibition was a complete success! and wouldn’t have happened without the rest of my group, all the staff and parents loved our exhibition design and the children looked very excited. I’m glad that we had the opportunity to do this and i hope that it can open doors for us to do it again in the future. 15 hours total work experince
