GREEN BAY - When Taylor Swift sent off surprise shipments of signed copies of her "Folklore" CD to select independent record stores across the country this week, Swifties were eager to get their hands on one.

One of those fans ended up getting her hands on an entire box of them outside The Exclusive Co. — by accident — and then did something store manager Tom Smith said “makes you have faith in human beings again.”

He learned on Friday the store in downtown Green Bay would be getting 30 of the coveted CDs on Saturday morning. What Smith didn’t know was that UPS Inc. would deliver them at 9:45 a.m., 15 minutes before the store was open and an employee was available to sign for the package.

When he arrived at 9:59 a.m. to open the doors and turn on the lights, there were two Swift fans sitting on the ground out front of the shop at 423 Dousman St. The delivery driver had asked one of them to sign for the unmarked box and drove off.

She handed the box to Smith when he showed up. “Out of curiosity, do you know what’s in the box?” she asked. When he told her it was the autographed “Folklore” CDs, she said, “I thought it was!”

Smith was impressed the fans waited with the box until he arrived, especially since they had a pretty good idea of what was inside. Not everyone might have done the same.

“They could have sold those on eBay. Someone told me what they were going for. They might have gotten $9,000 for that box,” Smith said. “It totally shows the character of Taylor Swift fans. Taylor Swift, I think, does such cool things, and I think they’re taking their cue from her.”

Swift, who released “Folklore,” her eighth studio album, on July 24 without any advance promotion, sent signed copies out to indie record shops on Thursday as a show of support for small business. Smith said he was originally told only The Exclusive Co. locations in Greenfield and Milwaukee would be getting shipments.

All 30 copies in Green Bay were snatched up in less than five hours for $11.99 each, Smith said.

“I told one person, ‘You have this nice Taylor Swift fan to thank for this. The fact that she even said, ‘Taylor Swift would not want me to walk away with this,' that was the part that really got me,” Smith said.

It was a feel-good moment during times when they can sometimes feel in short supply.

“It’s encouraging," Smith said. "People, just keep doing the right thing. You’ll change the world eventually. Just keep at it.”

Bc JKR is a FuCkInG twat, I’ve come up with a much better version of Harry Potter

Harry Potter is not only a Half-blood, he is mixed. Lily Evans was obviously white, with her red hair and such, but James was definitely a person of color. Whether he was black or something else, you can decide. I personally like to think Harry is a brown skinned boy with beautiful black curls and the most vibrant green eyes imaginable. Maybe that’s why Draco loves them so much.

Hermione Jean Granger is Black and no one can tell me otherwise. Her hair was bushy, probably because she spent her teenage years at a school of Magic and most likely didn’t have time for learning how to do her hair. Maybe she did learn eventually and now she’s living her best life. Also, maybe her hair was straightened at the Yule Ball. 

Sirius Black wasn’t just “Not Ready For Marriage,” he was fucking gay. I don’t think there is anything else left to say, he is gay for Remus and Remus is gay for him. As much as I love Teddy Lupin, #Wolfstar for life.

Severus Snape was evil, no matter what JKR said. No person should ever terrify a child so much, they are that child’s biggest fear and worst nightmare. If you’re going to teach children, you might as well like them.

Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore set those poor kids up for failure. He was preparing Harry for what, death? Nothing else said.Nothing else to say. Also, he knew the Dursleys were fucked up, he knew Sirius was innocent, and he knew McGonagall was the best way to go to raise Harry.

I literally lost my favourite summer cardigan like a couple weeks ago and it’s been stressing me out for ages. I finally gave up hunting for it and managed to find the same one online and ordered it literally the day before folklore. I dunno I feel like there’s some connection there.

Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise 🤗Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; Aaron Dessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), Bon Iver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two with me) and Jack Antonoff (who is basically musical family at this point). Engineered by Laura Sisk and Jon Low, mixed by Serban Ghenea & Jon Low. The album photos were shot by the amazing Beth Garrabrant. Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much ♥️
