“Honestly, at this point in my life it’s just lucky that it’s impossible for me to lose my head – unless someone came at with me with an axe, but that’s a different thing altogether,” she laughed. She used to think these slips in memory would cost her the career that she had spent so long chasing, but thankfully it was passed off as one of her many personality quirks instead of a real problem. She hadn’t gotten to that stage yet. “Good always outweighs the bad, you just have to be willing to look for it. I learned that the hard way. In the long run, it’s saved me a lot of grief, though, so I would recommend it.”
“That is fair, thankfully I feel like the odds of that happening is fairly low.” Kathryn replied, shrugging at her once more. Things were quite a mess in this country at the moment, but she felt as though Devinstone was a fairly safe place to live. “That is a great way to look at things. I try to focus on the positive when I can. Things are always better that way. As a photographer I’ve always tried to find beauty in as many places as I could.”

It was nice to have someone to go to dinner with, he felt like the only person he knew in town was his cousin, and while he loved Noah, he really needed some other friends. “Well, fuck, what’s even the point, then.” He feigned as he was getting up to leave before sitting back down with a grin. When the waiter stopped by, he ordered a sweet tea before returning back to the menu. “Anything sparking your interest? I could probably order for us, if you wouldn’t consider that incredibly chauvinistic of me.”
“It seems as though our endless quest might not be over yet.” Kathryn replied, letting out a soft chuckle at the boy’s actions. It was nice to feel as though she was finally finding people that she seemed to get along with. Kathryn ordered a water before looking down at the menu once more. None of the things seemed to be overly familiar for her, and she was beginning to wonder how much food in the south had in common with England. “Honestly, you ordering for both of us would be great. I have no idea what on here sounds best.”

“Well school is kinda stressful, and sometimes you need to just step away, breathe deep and take a break.”

“I think I just need to sleep for a week and then I will be good.” Kathryn replied, chuckling at the woman. “I just need for there to be a holiday or something.”

“Well I’m sure that you were in for quite a shock at how drastic the change was.” While Addison never had the chance to leave the country, she had been surprised with how different California was to her life in Devinstone. UCLA had treated her a lot better and she had gotten adjusted to life there fast, where there was not enough time for her mind to think of the past. Here everything moved so slowly, there was too much time with her own thoughts and she didn’t like it. “What are you studying?”
Tumblr media
“It was a lot to handle, that is for sure.” Kathryn replied, shrugging at her once more. She didn’t mind the change though, and it was proving to be pretty good for her. It was nice to actually have the time to get to know her neighbours and such. “I’m studying photography, which has always been a passion of mine.”

Tumblr media
“It does, but I’m honestly used to it by now so I think I’m desensitised to the matter. As long as it’s not the squad car keys then I think I’m doing okay. I did find them, though. Nine times out of ten they are usually where I left them, I just have a hard time remembering where that is exactly. I have a weird brain,” Casey laughed. “I think it’s just the physics of life, to be honest. If things are bad there’s no way they can stay like that, there has to be a balance. It’s just finding that spot where the balance changes that’s hard. I’m sure it won’t take you too long to turn the tables. You could always ask for help, too. That works as well.”
“I feel like that is the case with a lot of people. There is so much going on during day to day life that things like keys seem to slip through the cracks.” Kathryn replied, knowing that she often forgot the little things. It was hard not to, especially when she is extremely busy like she is at the moment. “Yeah, that is fair. If things were good all of the time than we would forget to appreciate things. I guess it’s a matter of focusing on the good.”

“I guess you don’t really have to schedule things when you do the same thing day in and day out,” Rebekah thought out loud. “Usually my family just stalk my facebook if contact is needed, it costs too much to call Derry from here, anyway. Internet is useful… in this case,” she shrugged. She could probably live without it, but it was the easiest way to keep them content. “What if you get one of those whiteboards for your kitchen? You can’t lose what’s pinned onto your wall, and you don’t have to charge it either.”
“Yeah, that is understandable. My scheduling mainly has to do with clients that I am taking photos for.” Kathryn replied, nodding at the comment about long distance. “Calling London isn’t really cheap either, but thankfully I have a good long distance plan. Although, my family doesn’t tend to call me.” She added, knowing that her parents usually just waited until she was home to use Skype instead. “I mean, I’d be better off with a day planner. It needs to be something I can carry around.”

“Me too.” Addison said because she had fallen out of the habit of Devinstone. For a person like her who loved this small town feeling growing up had gotten used to the hustle and bustle of California. People did their own things and it was not the business of the whole town. She really preferred that. “London to Devinstone. How did that happen?”
Tumblr media
“I wanted a change.” Kathryn replied, not sure how to explain her actions. More than anything she had just needed to get as far away from home as possible. She applied to a bunch of schools, and Devinstone was one of the few communities that seemed promising for both school and general relaxing. “I am here on a student visa, and go to the community college.”

It always ended up that no matter how hard Eli tried, he was always late. This instance wasn’t that bad, only ten minutes late, he’d done much worse. He hustled into the restaurant, searching for Kathryn. When he laid eyes on her, he crossed over to her quickly, looked frazzled but still with a smile on his face. “Sorry to keep you waiting.” He sat, glancing at the menu before looking back up at her. “Anything look promising?”
@kathryngray
Kathryn stood in the corner, feeling a little awkward about waiting by herself. In a busy city being alone didn’t matter, but in a small town people seemed to judge. She couldn’t help but be incredibly thankful when she saw Eli walk into the building. “Well, there are a few different spicy options. I’m not sure if any of them will try to kill us though.” Kathryn replied, letting out a small laugh.

“I don’t think I would lose out on much even if I did,” Rebekah muttered. “I’m… not very sociable, I guess, and there’s probably less than ten numbers on that thing. It wouldn’t make a difference if I lost it or not.” It was a tragic truth but honestly? Rebekah was perfectly okay with that. “What exactly classifies as a bad week in terms of your situation?”
“My phone is my life, but mainly just because I use it to schedule things. Not to mention,I like to be able to contact my family if there is some kind of emergency.” Kathryn replied, knowing it was hard to have her family half way across the world. “I keep losing stuff, and that causes me to be behind schedule and such. I just feel stupidly stressed.”

“Well is normal to have a couple of days where you just feel out of it, at the end of the day we are only human.” Jewels said with a shrug.”

“I think I am mostly just stressed about school and such.” Kathryn replied, shrugging at the woman. “I hope that things will go back to normal soon though.”

“A group of businessmen came to the strip club over the weekend so you can say I’m a couple of hundred bucks richer so the week could definitely be considered a success,” Callie said with a shake of her head. It was controversial, she knew, because a lot of people were close-minded when it came to things like that but she was proud for what she had been able to gain with what she had been given. “You should probably put your keys with a keychain and put it in your wallet or something, just in case.”
Tumblr media
“Well, a couple of hundred dollars is always fun.” Kathryn replied, feeling that things could be a lot worse. There was a ton of things that she could do with a couple of hundred of dollars. She nodded at the woman’d comment, knowing that she was probably right about the whole thing. “That would probably be smart, because if I lost my keys I would be in a huge mess.”

“If it’s any consolation, I lost my keys twice… in the space of eighteen hours,” Casey sheepishly replied. She honestly wondered how the hell she got herself into those situations when she was trying her hardest not to lose them in the first place. “I went hiking and cycling in the space of one week and didn’t die doing either, I think that suggests a successful week, no?” she laughed. “Things will get better, though. They always do, I wouldn’t dwell on the rough stuff for too long.”
“I’m sorry, that really sucks. Did you at least find them in the end?” Kathryn replied, feeling bad for the poor woman. Things tended to be a mess in her life, but at least she hadn’t lost anything more than once at this point. Granted, with the way things were going it was only a matter of time. “Well, your week has surely been pretty exciting at least. I am sure you are right about things getting better though. I am just going to have to be patient.”

“You know my number. So if you ever need a place to crash in because you lost your keys, you can come to my apartment, I’m sure my roommate won’t mind it.” Gabrielle replied, sharing a smile with Kathryn. “Something bad happened during your week? I’ve been having an okay one. Nothing major has happened, and if I ignore the haters on internet and focus on the new good comments on my videos, I’m okay. I’m great.”
Tumblr media
“Well, hopefully it won’t come to that. Although I am sure that I will keep that in mind.” Kathryn replied, thankful for the woman’s offer. It was nice to know that if all else failed, she would at least have somewhere to go. She could surely be in a worse place. “I’ve just had some bad luck, but hopefully things will look up soon. That is the best way to do it, in most cases the haters are just jealous people with nothing else to do.”

“Oh, honey, you’re probably speaking too soon,” he said, shaking his head lightly at the other as he held the straw of his drink between his fingers and took a slurping sip. “My week hadn’t been anything too spectacular, but I’m judging by your haggard look right now, I’d say your week pales in comparison to mine.” He turned his chair so he was slightly facing her. “You wanna talk about it? I hear I’m a good listening ear.”
Tumblr media
“I am going to be on high alert with my keys. I can’t afford to have to pay to get the locks and such changed.” Kathryn replied, letting out a soft sigh. She had enough to deal with at the moment and adding money to the list would really suck. Kathryn sent him a small smile. “I’m usually really organized. But lately, everything seems to be a mess.”

“Well let’s hope you don’t miss place them, replacing keys is always such a task, and if you’re paranoid like me and you have to change the locks too, that just adds to it.” Cornelia said with a long huff remembering the last time she did that. “Its going, but its only the middle of the week things can still turn around.”
Tumblr media
“Yeah, I would surely be the changing the locks type. I guess I should make sure to be extra careful about where my keys are.” Kathryn replied, nodding at the woman. She hadn’t even thought about the whole lock situation, but surely if she had lost her keys it was something that she would remember. “That is fair. Life is unpredictable.”

“I’m not judging, lately with all the pregnancy stuff I only manage to not lose my head because is attached to my neck.” Jewels said with a chuckle. “Its been one long week if I’m being honest, I feel like its dragging and it is only wednesday.”
Tumblr media
“I’m usually pretty organized. I don’t know what is up with me.” Kathryn replied, letting out a soft sigh. She just wished that things would go back to normal. “At least we are halfway to the weekend.”

“You can get trackers for them these days,” Rebekah absently replied as she glanced up from her newspaper. “Or so I’m told, anyway. I’m not really into all of that technology stuff, but it seems to be in the realms of possibility in this day and age.” When the other woman spoke of her hope about Rebekah’s week, the Irish woman found herself shrugging. She had kept herself busy, that was for sure. “My week was like every week. I went to work.”
“I guess that is cool, as long as you don’t manage to lose your phone at the same time.” Kathryn replied, letting out a soft chuckle. Although, she was sure that she wouldn’t manage to lose her phone, since it was the first thing that she always checked to make sure that she still had. “Well, that is good at least. If it was a normal week than at least it wasn’t a bad week.”
