Ok. Kate. Her entire spiral when she was taken over was entirely based in paranoia and it is not a stretch to say that that was likely to be at least in some part caused by how she grew up and was raised. She has spent her entire life surrounded by invasions and the worry that something is out to get her- and a lot of the time it is! If you've read her story in origin stories it's right there! Even more recently in the flux when she was forced to give up her life as she knew it just to survive! She is constantly living on edge because something is always around the corner and she has to personally figure out a way to fight against it. The hug also. How many hugs do we think she gets in her life? That one was so brief and yet it said so much. She is not one to openly show weakness like that- unless it's the Doctor and even then it was around her staff- people she is meant to be a leader to. She really needed that hug. And yet it was brief, she still resisted it because she knew there was no time for comfort and honestly in her life, when has there been time for it. Anyway, what I really liked about the spiral is how it showed how easy it is for anyone to fall down that spiral of hate and in her case it is born of paranoia. Idk I think she had some really nice character moments in that episode and I really enjoyed how RTD wrote her in particular

Not Kate Stewart collecting the Doctor's former companions like they're freaking Pokémon or something!!
Kate: New freelancers. Don't be cross. (The Power of the Doctor)
Mel: But then Kate offered me a job, and here I am. (The Giggle)
Kate: If we survive this, you should think about joining UNIT. (The Giggle)
And, of course, according to Big Finish UNIT lore, Doctor Martha Jones works for UNIT North America (UNIT: The Dalek Transaction)
I just cackled last night - over both Mel being recruited already and Donna being offered a job.

My theory is that the person who picked up the golden tooth where The Master's souls is in. Is Kate Stewart. The hand had red nails . And Kate she has red nails.

Look, I know this would be a bad giftset because it's just signs, but I just think it would be very funny to put the Brig and Kate's giant U.N.I.T. signs side-by-side. Look. It runs in the family.
