as a lesbian, what you said on twitter hurt me. you can’t police labels. you can’t decide which labels are good and which aren’t. that’s not how this works. the more the community is divided and angry at each other, the more our actual oppressors hurt us. infighting is not beneficial. you can not understand a label, but you have no right to say that person isn’t valid. you do not know their experiences and identity. please understand you have a young queer audience who looks up to you. i apologize if i communicate anything wrong in this ask, and please feel no obligation to answer. just think about the implications of what you said. i’ve struggled figuring out my sexuality, and your community was one of my biggest supports. hearing this makes me feel very unwelcome. i hope you have a good day.

i’ve never once tried to decide what labels are good and what labels are not? i wasn’t aware ‘half lesbian’ was something people considered a label as it’s always been told to me from the eyes of people who identify as bisexual (which is completely awesome) in a way of joking, and my stance on that has always been one of maybe instead use the label you identify with instead of half of a different one - i feel like context isn’t being shown and i’ve received a lot of hate in the last few days for this exact thing, where people are saying i hate people who don’t use labels which makes no sense as someone who is gender queer and doesn’t have a label on my own gender. the context from a certain tweet was someone was saying they were bisexual/that bisexual people can call themselves half lesbians (as well as bisexual) and my stance was maybe we should use what labels we go by (and if you go by none that’s also epic) instead of like a “half”. i’m very open about not having to use labels, that’s basically my entire brand haha

i’ve always been very open about not using labels for my gender and so it would make no sense for me to then further want to label how other people identify, i’m not saying people *cant* be anything! i just wasn’t too comfy due to personal experiences of people who do openly and are proud of being bisexual coming up to me and saying they’re basically a half lesbian, when it’s also cool to just be bisexual! but i’m not policing anyone! labels are just labels say whatever you want as long as you aren’t hurting anyone! be you!!!
