My thoughts about Tony using AI in the Flipline April Fools joke

Ok a bit of a rant incoming but as an artist and as a flipline fan I wanna give in my two cents about this whole Tony used AI thing

On one hand, yea it was a bad mistake, a shitty mistake, and one that needed an apology. Cause AI is bad. I think we all know that.

On the other hand though, he apologized. He also owned up to it all, and pretty much cleared Matt's name by doing so. So tell me why do some ppl in this fandom act like he commited the worst humanly crimes imaginable??? If you think that content creators of any kind (that includes Tony Solary) can do no wrong, then you're off with a mile cause we are HUMAN. Tony is also a human, therefore capable of making mistakes. But acting like this over generating an AI image is an overreaction in itself. He owned up to it, let's leave it at that.

And let's be real, I do think that everyone at least tried some kind of generative AI before, it's so abundant now, that you can't really avoid it. I'll be the first to admit to have messaged chatGPT, or used status.ai before I educated myself more on the matter. I think Tony was quite the same. Ignorant to a degree? Yea. But outright malicious? No, I don't think that was his intent.

Of course if you don't forgive him for this, that's on you. I just implore everyone to think with a calm, rational mind over this, cause the backlash this man has gotten is kinda stupid.
