Hello,

summary~ you're the twin sister of Spider, and after nearly being captured with your brother you are brought to the Metkayina clan with the Sully family.

my star~
Your hands clasp the now crushed flower in your hand as you walk with the others. Your brother rushes past you, nearly knocking you down as he tries to keep up with Lo'ak.
"Come on, we're gonna leave you! if you don't hurry up!" he calls out as he runs ahead.
Sighing you smile and jog to catch up, dropping the now crushed flower to the forest floor. The sound of the insects buzzing, and animals distracts you, and you walk face-first into Lo'ak, "What is that?" he questions as Kiri walks forward.
Standing on your tip toes, you try to see past them but to no avail, "What's what? I can't see!"
Lo'ak walks forward and you follow after, your mouth opening in a gasp when you see what lies on the forest floor. A large footprint was imprinted in the mud.
"It's way too big for a human," he whispers as he crouches down to observe it.
"Avatars?" your brother questions as he joins Lo'ak.
"Maybe..." he trails off, "but they're for sure not ours."
You slowly walk after them as Kiri stands, "What are you doing?"
"Tracking," Lo'ak shushes her as his eyes flick back and forth across the ground.
After following Lo'ak and your brother for a moment he puts out his hand to stop you and Kiri.
"We are never supposed to come here," she comments as you look over his shoulder, and feel your blood run cold.
At least three Avatars were walking around the long abandoned and forgotten trailer as they talked in hushed tones.
"Dad is going to ground you," Kiri says her voice dripping with sarcasm, "For life."
"Let's go," Lo'ak whispers, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he stalks forward with your brother in tow.
Groaning you grab his arm, "No, what if they see you?"
Pushing your hand away Lo'ak ignores your plea and continues to the clearing.
Lo'ak draws his bow as he peeks through the leaves of a tree, watching as the avatars move, seeming to scout the area.
"Bro," Spider whispers, his voice full of awe, "that's where your dad and my dad..." he trails off and turns to face Lo'ak, "fought."
Lo'ak's eyes widen as he looks closer at the clearing, "That's your dad's actual suit!"
"Holy shit."
You grab the small knife from your waist and hold it in front of yourself as you move towards them, "We need to go. Now," your voice is stern and cold as you glance over at the avatars, one with a familiarity that you just can't place.
"I gotta call this in," Lo'ak whispers as he turns to follow you back to Kiri and Tuk.
Your brother rushes after him hissing under his breath not to be overheard by the intruders at the old shack, "No bro we're gonna get in trouble!"
Your hands tremble slightly as you sheathe your knife, not seeing much of use for it now as Lo'ak tapped his communicator, "Devil Dog, Devil Dog. This is Eagle Eye, over."
You can't help but giggle a bit at the code names. Sure it was supposed to be serious so that if anyone hacked the comms or got a hold of one, information wouldn't be leaked but you still found it a bit silly.
"I got eyes on some guys. They look like avatars, but they're in full camo and carrying ARs. There's six of them, over."
You can hear the frustration in Jake's voice as he asks your location and Lo'ak responds, "We're at the old shack."
You twist another flower around your finger as you zone out, not noticing the conversation was over until Lo'ak grabbed your hand tightly and began pulling you into the trees, "Keep up," he whispered, voice shaky as you stumbled over the roots of trees.
You try to keep up as Kiri whispers, "You're going to be in so much trouble."
Shushing her Lo'ak's grip on your hand tightens and he pulls you along faster, "Kiri, stop."
"It's almost eclipse, come on!" Tuk shouts before an avatar shoots out from behind the tree in front of her and grabs her.
She screams as Lo'ak and your brother both notch their bows and you grab your knife. The metal hilt is cool in your palm as you grasp it tightly, glaring at the avatars now surrounding you.
"Put it down! Put it down!" a man screams as you drop your knife.
That voice, it was so, familiar. But you still couldn't place it, and it made your head ache when you tried. Gripping your temples you groaned in pain as one of them yanked you backward. Screaming you try to pull free but they yank your hair, making you hiss in pain.
"What have we here?" interrupts a voice.
Turning your head to the voice you look up and feel another wave of pain rush through your temples. He squints at you and then turns away as the man holding Kiri holds up her hand.
"Hey Colonel, check it out, four fingers. We got a half-breed."
He looks at Kiri before turning to Lo'ak, "Show me your fingers."
Lo'ak raises his hands, flipping off the Colonel as he glares at him.
The Colonel laughs, "You're his, aren't you?"
Lo'ak only hisses in response, baring his teeth as the Colonel smiles, "You're his alright."
You shout as he grabs him by the neck and lifts him up, "Let him go!"
The woman's grip on you tightens as you snarl at the man, "If you hurt him, I'll kill you!"
He ignores you as he tightens his grip on Lo'ak's neck "Where is he?"
"Sorry, I don't speak English," he answers as the Colonel bares his teeth.
"Where is your Father?" he hisses, voice full of annoyance as he yanks Lo'aks hair.
You can feel your blood begin to boil as your foot taps against the ground in search of your knife.
"Really? This is how you wanna play it?" asks the Colonel as he tosses Lo'ak to the ground, and approaches Kiri.
The woman's grip on your arm loosens as she grabs onto Lo'ak, and you use the opportunity to dive for your knife as your brother calls out, "Hey! Don't hurt her!"
He hisses as the Colonel turns to him, "What's your name kid?"
"Spider... Socorro," he reluctantly answers.
A boot stomps down on your hand as it wraps around the metal handle of your knife. You hiss in pain, looking up at the man, whose eyes are now lit with curiosity, "And you?"
Glaring you grit out, "y/n, Socorro."
His foot leaves your hand and he waves the man away from your brother. A look of confusion washes over his face as he crouches down next to you.
"Miles, y/n?"
"Nobody calls me that," your brother says as you move to stand.
"Well, I'll be damned," he says, his voice hollow and his eyes unreadable as they move from your brother to you.
"Well, I figured they sent you back to Earth."
"You can't put babies in cryo, dipshit," he snaps as you tuck your knife back into your pocket.
He motions for the man to grab him again, and you feel the woman yank you up by the arm, her grip tight enough to bruise.
"What're we doin' boss?"
"Iron sky blue one actual," he says ignoring him.
You can feel Lo'ak's eyes on you, so you turn your head to look at him, "Are you okay?"
Your voice is quiet and hoarse from the screaming as his eyes narrow, "I should be the one asking you that. He almost broke your hand, no wait- did he?" his voice is heated as he glares at the Colonel's back, "If he did I'll-"
Shaking your head you give him a tight smile to conceal the pain in your wrist, "No, I'll be fine. I-" the sound of helicopter blades interrupts you and you look up.
Four helicopters in the distance, mere specs now, and you feel your stomach drop. Where were they planning on taking you?
You blew a stray piece of hair out of your face as you saw your father, could you really call him that though? out of the corner of your eye pick up a skull from the AMP suit on the ground. His AMP suit.
"You want us to recover these remains?" the man next to him asked as he pocketed the dog tags.
You bit back a gasp as he crushed the skull in his hands, the powder and pieces left now falling to the forest floor.
It didn't take long after that for the sun to set and for the plants to give off their bioluminescence. You flinched as the woman yanked your head back and clenched your hands into fists.
The woman communicating with the Colonel had said she would be here in three minutes, but your mind still spiraled thinking about what they would do with you once you were aboard their ships.
Hearing a small clicking noise you looked to the trees and smile, it looks like you wouldn't be leaving with them after all.
Lo'ak's eyes met yours as you heard the calling grow closer and he gave you a reassuring nod as the rain started to pick up.
You could hear Kiri pray to Eywa as the man holding onto her Tsaheylu screamed for her to shut up, "Shut u-"
His words were cut short when an arrow pierced his skull and you gasped as the woman let go of your arm. You fell to the ground as the opened fire on the trees and unsheathed your knife, burying it into her leg. Screaming she aimed her gun at you, but before she could pull the trigger a cloud of green smoke surrounded you.
Stumbling to your feet you felt a hand grab your arm and pull you forward, "Run!"
You stumbled through the forest, trying to keep up with the figure dragging you along. You couldn't see much through the thick green smoke, but you could hear the sound of gunshots and screams echoing behind you.
"Come on, you need to run faster!" Lo'ak shouted, but his voice sounded distant, as if you were in a dream, or your ears were filled with cotton.
Stumbling again, this time your feet tangled in the roots of a tree, sending you face first to the ground, a feeling of warmth spreading through your abdomen as you felt someone lift you up.
Lo'ak's blood ran cold when he felt your hand go limp in his. Turning back he saw your body laying half over a log, crimson spreading across your torso.
Cursing under his breath he quickly lifted you into his arms, "y/n?" his hand moved to take your pulse when a stray bullet flew past.
Lifting you into his arms he quickly caught up to his parents and siblings, his Father's face falling when his eyes landed on you.
"What happened?"
Lo'ak's eyes lingered on you as his grandmother began treating your wound, "If you keep staring like that, you won't be able to help," she scolded him.
Lo'ak quickly shook his head and looked away, his heart pounding in his chest. He couldn't lose you, not after everything you had been through together.
As his grandmother worked on your wound, Lo'ak took a deep breath and tried to calm himself. He needed to be strong for you, to make sure you would live.
Hours passed as you lay unconscious, your breathing shallow and weak. Lo'ak refused to leave your side, his hand holding yours tightly as he prayed to Eywa.
Finally, as the first light of dawn began to filter through the cave opening, you stirred. Lo'ak's heart leaped in his chest as he saw your eyes flutter open.
"Lo'ak?" you murmured, your voice weak and hoarse.
"I'm here," he said softly, his relief evident in his voice.
You smiled weakly at him, and Lo'ak felt tears prick at the corners of his eyes. He had never been so scared in his life.
"Where's my brother?"
His hands caught your arms as you tried to stand, "You'll tear your wound if you move too quickly."
Averting his eyes as you question where your brother is he laments and whispers, "They have him."
You looked at Lo'ak with confusion and concern in your eyes, "Who has him? What do you mean?"
Lo'ak took a deep breath, trying to steady himself before he spoke. "The RDA," he said, his voice shaking with anger. "They took him. When they had us captured, he got separated," he trails off as you stand, hobbling to the entrance.
"Hey! No, you need to rest, lay down-"
"No!" you cut him off, your voice still hoarse from the previous days' events, "I'm going after him, this is just a flesh wound, alright?"
His grip on your hand tightens when a voice clears their throat. Standing at the entrance is Neytiri and behind her Jake. You flinch as her eyes narrow at you, and take a step back.
"We need to talk," Jake says, his voice stern as you take a seat in front of the fire.
His eyes are cloudy as he regards you, "We are leaving," his voice strains as he continues, "Norm will be here in the morning to get you."
Your face twists in confusion, "Leaving? Where are you going, to get my brother back?"
You snap the last part and Neytiri hisses at you her eyes narrowed as her ears pinned back against her head, "Ignorant child."
Grumbling you snap, "I can hear you," Lo'ak coughs to cover a nervous laugh before turning to his father.
"I want to bring her with us," he laces his fingers with yours and you feel your face heat up.
Shaking his head Jake sighs, "No, it's too dangerous. And besides, the Metkayina won't accept a skyperson."
His eyes meet yours as he stands to leave, "Mo'at will tend to your wounds until Norm gets here with the chopper tomorrow," and with that, he and Neytiri leave, leaving you alone with your thoughts and Lo'ak sitting beside you.
His hand gently pushes your hair away from your face as you look up at him, "So, you're leaving," you trail off before pulling the furs closer to your body.
He frowns before exclaiming, "I'll take you with me," his hands clasp yours as you look at him, confused.
"No, Jake said-"
"Norm won't be here till' morning and we leave tonight, I'll sneak you onto my Ikran."
You hesitate, unsure of what to do. On one hand, you want to stay and find your brother, but on the other hand, you don't want to put yourself or anyone else in danger. You look into Lo'ak's eyes, searching for any doubt or hesitation, but all you see is determination and a fierce desire to help you.
"Are you sure?" you ask him, your voice barely above a whisper.
He nods, his grip on your hand tightening, "I won't leave you here alone, not after what happened. We'll find your brother together."
You take a deep breath, nodding in agreement. "Okay," you say, your voice stronger now. "Let's do it."
Lo'ak smiles at you, relief evident in his eyes. "I'll go get everything ready," he says, standing up from the fire. "Just stay here and rest."
As he leaves the cave, you settle back onto the furs, your mind racing with thoughts of what's to come. You know that this decision could be dangerous, but you also know that you have to do everything in your power to find your brother. Especially when he's in the hands of your... father.
The day flies by and in no time, it's nearing eclipse. Soon enough, Lo'ak returns, carrying a small pack on his back. "Are you ready?" he asks you.
You nod, standing up. Lo'ak leads you to the edge of the cliff, where his Ikran is perched, waiting for him.
As you approach, it lets out a low hiss, eyeing you warily. Lo'ak places a reassuring hand on its neck, whispering something in Na'vi you don't quite catch. The Ikran seems to relax at his touch, and he motions for you to climb onto its back.
You hesitate for a moment, unsure of how to do it. Lo'ak notices your hesitation and helps you climb up, settling you in front of him. He holds onto the Ikran and leans forward when he hears the sound of his family coming forward, concealing you from their view.
You hold onto Lo'ak tightly as the wind rushes past you, the stars shining brightly above. As you fly farther away from the forest, your thoughts turn to your brother and your father, wondering what he wants from you. And why you feel such pain when you see him.
You feel the cold glares of the Metkayina as you come to a stop beside Lo'ak and Kiri, your eyes on the ground.
"We seek uturu," Jake says as he greets the Tsahìk and Olo'eyktan glance at each other, their expressions unreadable.
You can feel yourself shrinking down, praying they don't
Ronal steps forward, her eyes scanning you carefully, "What is the reason for bringing a skyperson here?" she asks, her voice calm but with an edge of anger to it.
Lo'ak steps forward, his hand still clasping yours tightly, "She was injured, and we couldn't leave her behind," he explains, his voice soft.
She nods, her eyes still fixed on you, "Her wounds are severe. But that is no excuse to let a demon in our presence, let alone grant one uturu!"
You flinch at her words as the Olo'eyktan Tonowari steps forward, "We must consider the potential consequences of granting uturu to a skyperson. They have brought destruction to our world before, and we cannot risk them bringing their war here."
Kiri steps forward, her hand on your shoulder, "But she is not like the others. She has learned the way of the Omatikaya Clan, and was practically raised alongside us," she gestures to Jake, Neytiri, Tuk, Lo'ak, and Neteyam.
There is a moment of silence as Ronal and Tonowari exchange looks before the Olo'eyktan finally speaks, "Very well. We will grant her uturu, but only under strict conditions. She must remain under constant supervision and be confined to a designated area. Any breach of these conditions will result in immediate exile from our village."
You feel a sense of relief wash over you at their decision, but also a twinge of sadness at the restrictions placed upon you. However, you understand their caution and are grateful for their willingness to let you stay.
"Thank you," Lo'ak says, bowing his head in respect. "We will ensure that she follows your rules and does not cause any harm."
Ronal and Tonowari nod in unison, and you feel Lo'ak's hand squeeze yours in reassurance.
You spend the rest of the day getting settled into a mauri farthest from the rest of the village, and having your wound tended to. You flinch as Ronal finishes cleansing the wound and takes her leave without a word.
Hearing Jake sigh you look up at him, your eyes immediately falling to the floor when you catch the anger in his eyes.
"What did I tell you?" he snaps as he crosses his arms and starts to pace.
You cross your legs and rest your chin in your palm, "That Norm would be taking me back to the lab."
"And what did you do? You almost got yourself killed!"
His voice is venom laced as you cower back into your bedding, "What if they hadn't bothered asking why you were here and-"
Lo'ak clears his throat interrupting Jake, "Dad stop, please," he pleads as he steps forward his eyes glancing down at you.
"It was my idea," he whispers softly as his head falls to the floor, "I am sorry."
Jake grunts as his tail flits against the ground, then turns to you, "You will stay here and not leave under any circumstance, am I clear?"
You nod slowly, "Yes."
He grumbles as leaves, leaving Lo'ak standing in the entrance.
He folds his arms behind his back as he takes a step toward you, "How are you feeling?"
You groan, "Better, although Jake's yelling isn't exactly helping. Not that I can blame him though, I should have just gone back to the lab with Norm."
Sighing you cross your arms as he sits down next to you, his shoulder gently bumping yours as he holds out his hand, "Here, I found this in the sea when I was with Tsireya."
In his palm is a small orange shell, spiral in shape, the texture smooth in comparison. Smiling you look up and take it from him, admiring the intricate patterns on its surface.
"It's beautiful," you say, turning it over in your hand. "Thank you."
Lo'ak nods, his eyes fixed on you. "I know it's not much, but I wanted to give you something to make you feel better."
You smile at him, "It means a lot, really."
The two of you sit in comfortable silence for a while, listening to the sounds of the village outside.
After a few minutes, Lo'ak speaks up again, "I'm sorry for getting you into trouble. I should have known better."
You shake your head, "It's not your fault. I made the decision to go with you."
"I appreciate your apology, though," you add with a small smile.
Lo'ak returns the smile, but then his expression turns serious, "You know, you don't have to stay here if you don't want to. You could leave with Norm and go back to the lab."
You contemplate it for a moment, but shake your head, "I don't think that's a good idea," he looks at you, confused.
"I mean, Tonowari said he didn't want Jake bringing war here, and if Norm came, the other skypeople might be able to find us."
He nods and you watch as he stands, your arm shooting out and grabbing his pulling him back. You can feel his breath catch in his throat as he looks down at you.
"Please don't go," you whisper, feeling the weight of the past few days catching up to you. "I don't want to be alone."
Lo'ak's expression softens and he sits back down, his hand reaching out to grasp yours. "You won't be alone," he says firmly. "I'll be here with you."
You smile gratefully at him, feeling a warmth spreading through your chest. "Thank you," you say softly. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
He squeezes your hand gently, "You don't have to worry about that. I'll always be here for you."
You lean your head back against the wall, the exhaustion finally catching up to you. "Can we just stay like this for a while?" you ask, closing your eyes.
"Of course," he replies, and the two of you sit in silence, hands clasped, as the sounds of the village outside fade into the background.
Feeling his lips on your temple you drift into a dream filled with your father and brother, and you hope your brother will be alright.
"Goodnight, Ma tanhì," Lo'ak whispers as he wraps the blanket around your small frame.
i hope this was okay... i got a little carried away...
thank you for the request! please lmk if you'd like a part 2!'

Your hands grasped at the cool metal surface of the now sinking ship, but to no avail. It was slick as oil as you felt an arm yank you up. Nails dug into your skin so deeply you could feel the warmth of blood spreading down your arm.
"Let go of me!" you hiss before being cuffed to a rail.
The man laughed and then tossed Kiri down next to you, her face crestfallen when your eyes met.
"Talk to me, Corporal. This ship's goin' down and your girls with it. Your boy didn't have to die."
You flinch at that, feeling a chill run down your spine. Neteyam was-
An arrow flew by interrupting your thoughts before you were uncuffed and felt a sharp sting on your neck.
Hissing you struggle against the arm holding you down, but it only made the knife dig deeper into your throat.
"Runnin' out of time here Corporal," Quaritch said, his grip tightening.
"You already lost one kid today. You really wanna lose another?"
Jake grunted as he moved forward, his knife held out.
"Do not test me," Quaritch seethed, his eyes narrowing in anger.
"Just kill him, dad!" Kiri shouts, as you flinch.
He moves the knife closer to her throat, "Weapons down."
Hesitating Jake tosses the hatchet and knife to the ground as Kiri shouts, "Don't!"
You barely register the next words out of the man's mouth when a boy comes out from behind a pillar.
"No! No, don't hurt her!" he shouts as rushes in front of him.
"Stand there! Don't move," Quaritch shouts, his voice filled with anger as he takes the knife away from your throat.
You can already feel a warm and steady trickle flowing down your throat as Kiri looks at you and gasps, "Your nec-"
But she is interrupted as Neytiri leaps forward and grabs the boy, holding her knife to his throat.
Quaritch flinches as she speaks, "Release. Or I cut."
"What you think I care about some kid?" he laughs.
"He's not mine, we're not even the same species."
"Jus- please don't! Don't hurt her!" the boy sputters as Kiri pleads for her mother not to kill him.
Your eyes fall to the knife on your thigh, so carefully concealed they hadn't even noticed it when cuffing you. Taking advantage of the Colonel's distraction you reach down and grab it, hand shaking on the hilt.
"A son for a son," Neytiri hisses as you unsheathe the blade, the shell hilt cool in your palm.
She cuts his chest, "I cut," and you strike. Slashing upward you cut the Colonel's face.
And that's when you feel it, the cold metal of the Colonel's blade in your chest, the warm liquid sprouting forward and Kiri's hand on your arm as you fall backward.
Neteyam watched as the Metkayina emerged from the ocean, her long hair dripping wet and her eyes sparkling in the sunlight. He couldn't help but feel his heart skip a beat as she smiled nervously in his direction. Giving a small wave he took a step toward her as he waited for Tsireya and the others to join him.
"I don't think I've seen you around here before," he said as he approached her, stopping a few steps in front of her in the sand.
A look of melancholy washed over her as she smiled sadly, "I-"
Before she could answer the sound of a throat clearing interrupted him, "What are you doing here?"
Turning back, he could see Ao'nung and Tsireya standing behind him. Ao'nung's voice was cold as ice, his expression angry, while Tsireya's was twisted in a mix of confusion and concern as she reached out to the girl.
Her expression shifted to one of discomfort as she glanced at Ao'nung before turning her gaze back to Neteyam. "I was just taking a swim," she replied, her voice soft and subdued.
Neteyam could sense the tension between Ao'nung and y/n, and he felt a protective instinct kick in. "Is there a problem?" he asked, his voice firm.
Ao'nung snorted dismissively. "No problem. We were just wondering what a sänui is doing here," he said, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
She tensed beside Neteyam, but before she could respond, Tsireya stepped forward, placing a hand on Ao'nung's shoulder. "That's enough, Ao'nung. Let's go we have lessons to teach," she said firmly, her gaze flickering between Neteyam and the girl.
"Neteyam," Tsireya said, her voice strained as she walked into the waves, "Come, join us, you will learn nothing if you stay on the shore," her hand gestured for him to follow.
Glancing back in the girl's direction he gave a quick wave and leapt in with the others.
As he swam alongside Tsireya and Ao'nung, Neteyam couldn't help but wonder about the girl he had just met. He couldn't shake the feeling that there was something different about her, especially with the way Ao'nung and Tsireya had treated her. And the words Ao'nung had thrown at her stumped him too, he had called her a sänui, a failure. They seemed close, yet distant at the same time, as if they were holding her at arm's length for some reason.
The lessons that day were intense, what with it being their first day in the ocean. His arms felt sore as he followed his siblings back to their mauri.
Your hands rang the water from your hair as you stepped into your family's mauri, the room tense as your Mother set down a basket and grabbed an herb from your sister.
"Tsireya tells me that Toruk Makto's children have seen you," her voice is harsh and cold, but her gaze never meets yours as you stand in the entryway.
You feel a pang of guilt as your mother's words hit you. You knew that you shouldn't have been seen with Neteyam, or any of Toruk Makto's family, but you couldn't help it. You were curious and there was something about him in particular that drew you in, something that made you feel alive.
"I- I'm sorry, Mother," you stammer, looking down at your feet. "I didn't mean to cause any trouble."
Your mother snorts, turning to face you with a scowl on her face. "You never mean to cause trouble, but trouble always seems to find you," she says bitterly her hands now holding a mixing bowl.
You feel the weight of her words, the same words she's said to you countless times before. You know why there is malice in her voice, and her eyes every time she sees you, and it cuts your soul. Honestly, it wouldn't be half bad if she would pretend you didn't exist, but your Father put a stop to that.
"I'll be more careful in the future," you say softly, hoping to diffuse the tension in the room.
Your mother nods, but her expression remains stern. "You're getting older now, y/n, and it's time for you to start thinking about your future. You can't keep running around the clan, you need to stay out of sight, and the way. It is what Eywa has willed."
You feel a lump form in your throat at her words, knowing that she's right, but don't want to give up the feeling that deep down she's wrong. That Eywa would never will such a thing, that she would never will your Mother to cast you aside the moment you took your first breath, that there was some reason you were the way you were.
"I understand Mother," you say, your voice barely above a whisper.
She gives you a curt nod before turning back to her work, signaling that the conversation is over. You take one last look around the mauri before silently slipping out, feeling the weight of your mother's gaze as you walk.
But before you can fully exit the mauri, you bump into someone who exhales deeply. Flinching you glance up to meet your Father's eyes, full of melancholy as he gives you a tight smile, "My daughter," his hand lands on your shoulder.
Biting your lip you greet him, "Father," his eyes look down at the small basket in your hands, and they grow concerned.
"Where are you going so late?"
His eyes search yours for an explanation while you try not to frown, "Just for a swim."
He sighs in relief, "Be back before eclipse," and with that he heads inside, calling out to your mother, "Ronal," his voice trails off as you walk to the shore.
As you make your way toward the shore, you can't help but feel a sense of unease. Your mother's words still linger in your mind, and you know that she's right. You can't keep running around the clan, it's time for you to start thinking about your future. But the idea of conforming to the clan's and Eywa's expectations feels suffocating, and you can't help but wonder if there's more to life than just following the will of Eywa and listening to the people gossip in hushed tones when you pass them by.
Shaking your head you reach the shore and take a deep breath, feeling the cool breeze on your face. You can taste the salt in the air and the water is calm, as you wade in slowly, feeling the gentle waves lap against your ankles. You close your eyes and let out a sigh, feeling a sense of peace wash over you. Hearing a snap you turn to see one of the Sully children standing not too far behind you on the shore. You freeze as he waves and takes a step closer.
"Hey," he whispers as the waves pick up in pace.
Feeling a chill run down your spine you quickly dive forward, the cool water engulfing you, the taste of salt on your tongue. As you swim further out, you can hear the distant chatter of the clan behind you, but you feel a sense of freedom being out here on your own. The water is your sanctuary, your escape from your troubles, and yourself. You dive deeper, feeling the pressure in your ears as you go. You know you should surface soon, but you can't help but stay down, enjoying the weightlessness of being underwater. Suddenly, you feel something brush against your leg, and you startle, quickly kicking back up to the surface.
Gasping for air, you look around, but there's no one there. You try to shake off the feeling of being watched, but it lingers, and you can't help but feel uneasy.
Neteyam stands dumbfounded on the beach after your curls disappear in the waves, the inky blackness of the waves obscuring the fact that you had ever been there in the first place as he turns to leave. Walking through the sand he wonders what you were doing out so late, and then he stops in his tracks.
In front of him stands the Tsahìk, her eyes foreboding and cold as she steps past him and towards the sea. Greeting her he quickly heads back to his family's mauri and lays down on his bed, his head swimming with thoughts of the strange girl.
The next morning he woke early to begin lessons with the ilu. Ao'nung took the lead on lessons while Tsireya demonstrated how to make Tsaheylu with them. It was just as Neteyam was about to take off with his ilu when he saw you. Your hair was now adorned with a scattering of orange and blue seashells, matching your top, and your eyes pointedly looked at the water as you called for an ilu.
As the ilu came forward you tossed it a fish, and patted its neck gently, smiling he urged his ilu to slowly move toward you. When he was mere inches from her he opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by Ao'nung,
"Again today," he seethed as he swam forward on his ilu.
She jumped back startled at his approach, falling over her feet and taking in a mouth of seawater as she fell. Neteyam's hand shot out and pulled her up as she rubbed her eyes.
"What are you doing here again?" Ao'nung asked, his voice harsh as he regarded her.
"I-," she paused as she looked down in thought, her eyes clouding with tears.
Stepping in between the two Neteyam sent a glare at Ao'nung, "Why can't she be here?" he hissed as he helped you gather the scattered contents of your bag.
"And who is she to you any way that you care so much she's here," his voice is stern as he looks to Ao'nung for an answer.
Your face pales as your younger brother's eyes lock on you and he laughs, "Tsmuke is just as useless as you all are."
Neteyam looks at him warily, "What do you mean? Why insult your own sister?" his voice is heated and a wave of confusion washes over him as he steps towards him.
You were their sister? It didn't make any sense to him, why treat you so coldly and call you a sänui, and worthless. Ao'nung feigns surprise, "You don't know?"
Biting back a laugh, he continues, "Oh, of course, you wouldn't, you're from the forest, so it might be difficult to understand," his finger points at you in accusation, "She has no spirit sister. No Tsaheylu. No connection to Eywa. She is worthless."
Neteyam's eyes shot to you, his eyes concerned as you stumbled back in the waves, "Your sister?"
He could feel his blood boiling as Ao'nung laughed and Tsireya turned away, her eyes locked on the sand.
He couldn't believe that anyone, let alone her own brother, could treat her so cruelly just because she didn't have a Tsaheylu. He could see the hurt and pain in your eyes as Ao'nung's words sunk in.
Turning to face Ao'nung, he spoke firmly, "That doesn't give you the right to treat her that way. She's still your sister-"
He's cut off by your shout, "No, he's right," a sad look washes over your face as you mount the ilu, and dive forward, disappearing underneath the waves.
Feeling his anger rise his hand clenches into a fist as he turns to Ao'nung and punches him.

Feeling his anger rise his hand clenches into a fist as he turns to Ao'nung and punches him.

summary~ you are a member of the Metkayina clan, and are the twin sister of Tsireya.
Lo'ak watched as you gently patted the neck of your ilu, a small smile on your face as the waves played with your hair. His hands were shaky as he slowly approached you, his breath catching in his throat when the sun caught your eyes. The rays illuminating the beautiful blue specks in your green eyes.
As he approached you, you turned to him and greeted him with a warm smile. He tried to speak, but his voice caught in his throat, overwhelmed by your beauty and the tranquility of the moment.
You noticed his unease and gently asked, "Is everything alright, Lo'ak?"
He took a deep breath and finally found his voice, "I apologize for disturbing your moment of peace, but I couldn't help but notice your ilu. If you don't mind me asking, what's its name?"
Smiling you sat back in the sand, letting the waves move your hair away from your face, "It's Neni, sand."
"Is there a reason for the name?" he asked as he reached his hand out toward her.
Humming you reply, "Not in particular."
Lo'ak smiled, "Neni, that's a beautiful name."
You nodded, "Thank you."
Lo'ak looked at Neni, admiring the color of her scales and the way you seemed so in tune with each other. He turned back to you and asked, "May I pet her?"
You smiled and nodded, "Of course, she's very friendly. Just be gentle with her."
Lo'ak approached Neni slowly, extending his hand to pet her. Neni sniffed his hand before nuzzling it gently, enjoying the attention. Lo'ak smiled, feeling the rough scales of the ilu under his hand.
"I think she likes you," you whisper before standing, the water cascading down your body as you stretch.
Clearing his throat Lo'ak looked up at you before whispering, "I wanted to say thank you too."
"Hm?" you tilt your head at him, confused.
Feeling a blush rise to his cheeks, he continued, "When the others wouldn't believe me about Payakan, you did. You defended me, why?"
Shrugging you crossed your arms, "Well, I know the feeling."
Looking at you quizically he opened his mouth to speak before your ilu began to click. He watched as you mounted Neni and grabbed your arm, "Wait."
You paused, halting your ilu from leaping back into the waves, "What is it?"
"Could I come with you?"
Smiling you grabbed his hand and pulled him onto your ilu, his arms wrapped around your waist tightly, "Don't fall off," you laughed, and then dove into the sea.
The cool water surrounded you and you breathed a sigh of relief as Neni sped up, the scenery passing by so quickly you didn't notice when the reef faded away to open water.
Feeling a tap on your shoulder you turned to see Lo'ak staring at you, his yellow eyes reflecting the rays of the sun from the surface.
"You're amazing," he whispered, his eyes still fixed on you.
You chuckled, feeling a bit self-conscious under his intense gaze. "Thanks, but I'm just me."
"You're amazing," he whispered, his eyes still fixed on you.
You chuckled, feeling a bit self-conscious under his intense gaze. "Thanks, but I'm just enjoying a ride on my ilu."
Lo'ak shook his head, a small smile playing on his lips. "No, I mean it. You have such a deep connection with your ilu, and you're so free and fearless in the water. I mean, you even came to save me that time with Payakan, it's amazing."
You blushed, feeling a warmth spread through your body. "Thank you, Lo'ak. That means a lot coming from you."
The two of you rode in silence for a while, enjoying the peacefulness of the sea. The sound of the waves and the gentle breeze were the only sounds around you. You could feel Lo'ak's arms around your waist, holding you tightly as Neni carried you further out into the sea.
After a few minutes, Lo'ak leaned in closer to you, his voice barely above a whisper. "I have something to tell you."
You turned to face him, curious as you brushed a piece of seaweed out of your hair.
"What is it?"
He took a deep breath before continuing. "I've been wanting to tell you this for a long time, but I haven't had the courage to do it. I like you."
You felt your heart skip a beat at his words, and you turned to face him fully, a stunned expression on your face. "Lo'ak, I...I don't know what to say."
He looked at you with hopeful eyes, waiting for your response. You could feel the weight of his words, and you knew you needed to be honest with him.
Feeling your heart race a mile a minute you leaned forward and shut your eyes without thinking, your lips meeting in a quick kiss before your ilu rushed to the surface.
As you broke the kiss and surfaced, you looked at Lo'ak, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. He looked back at you with surprise, but then a smile slowly spread across his face.
"I take it that as a yes?" he asked, a hint of amusement in his voice.
You nodded, still feeling a bit breathless from the kiss. "Yes, Lo'ak. I like you too," you said playfully splashing him.
He let out a whoop of excitement, and hugged you tightly to his chest, laughing. He really had been overthinking things.
As you rode on your ilu back to the shore, you felt a blush creep up your face, wondering what your family would think as his lips met yours again.
sorry this was so short and if any of the characters was ooc, i haven't really wrote for Lo'ak so, it might not be accurate...
thank you for your request! lmk if you still want a human version with Lo'ak?

first, hi! and thank you so much~ i've been meaning to write a Tsu'tey x reader for a while! so here it is! i hope it's alright if i make the reader a human in an avatar body, let me know if you would prefer a Na'vi reader! 💙
masterlist~
warnings~ language, blood mentioned, some violence.
wordcount~ 2.2k+
italic dialogue is in Na'vi
also apologies if anyone is too ooc!
Gripping the bow your fingers tensed as you notched an arrow. Staring down the target you let go, the end of the arrow grazing your cheek as it flew, and missed the target by ten feet.
Grumbling you stepped to retrieve it when you felt a hand on your shoulder, "Straighten your back more, your posture is terrible."
You felt heat rush to your cheeks as Tsu'tey's foot kicked your legs apart, and his hands linger on your waist as he adjusted your posture. You couldn't deny the way your heart raced at his touch, despite the frustration at your missed shot.
"Tsu'tey, what are you doing?" you asked, trying to keep your voice steady as you felt his breath on your neck.
"Helping you," he replied, his voice low and husky. "You have potential, (Y/N), but you need to work on your technique."
His hands moved to your arms as he guided you through the proper motions of drawing the bow and releasing the arrow. You couldn't help but feel a thrill run through you as you felt his body pressed against yours, his scent filling your senses.
As you shot another arrow, you felt a hand wrap around yours, guiding your aim toward the target. "You're still awful," Tsu'tey said, his voice icy as let go of your hand.
The cool grey metal of the link lid greeted you when you opened your eyes, and you pushed it open to find Grace staring down at you.
"You alright?" she asked before turning back to say something to Norm.
"Fine, just tired," you whispered as you clambered out. It had only been a week since your transfer to the Hallelujah Mountains and you already wished you were home.
Rubbing your eyes you laid back on your cot, ignoring Grace calling out to you, "You know you have that video log due today, right?"
Groaning you flopped onto your stomach, wanting nothing more than to forget the events of the day, and how much Tsu'tey had gotten on your nerves.
Breakfast was quiet, like most days, other than Norm muttering to himself about some samples.
Stretching you cleared your plate and nodded to Jake, "I'm heading in, better hurry or you'll be late."
The second you opened your eyes you regretted it. Walking through the tree you found Neytiri and Tsu'tey waiting for you. Neytiri greeted you, and Tsu'tey simply gestured for you to follow him. You couldn't help but bristle at that, he only ever seemed to treat you with disdain, and anger that he took out on you during your training.
Following Tsu'tey, you couldn't help but feel a sense of unease settle in your stomach. You had no idea what he wanted from you this time, but you were sure it wasn't going to be pleasant.
As you walked deeper into the forest, you couldn't help but notice the way Tsu'tey moved, how every step was graceful and fluid, like he was a part of the forest itself. You, on the other hand, stumbled and tripped over roots and branches, feeling awkward and clumsy in comparison.
Finally, you arrived at a small clearing, and Tsu'tey turned to face you. "Today, we will work on your hand-to-hand combat skills," he said, his voice cold and unyielding.
You couldn't help but groan inwardly at the thought. You had never been particularly good at fighting, and Tsu'tey's training sessions were always brutal.
But you didn't have a choice. You had to become one of the people and complete your mission.
With a deep breath, you readied yourself for the training session. Tsu'tey charged at you, and you tried to dodge his attack, but he was too fast. His fist connected with your stomach, knocking the wind out of you.
You stumbled backward, trying to catch your breath, as Tsu'tey circled around you. "Come on alien," he taunted. "Is that all you've got?"
Gritting your teeth, you lunged at him, throwing a punch that he easily blocked. He retaliated with a swift kick to your side, and you crumpled to the ground.
"You're weak," he said, looking down at you with disdain. "You'll never survive and become one of the people if you can't even defend yourself."
You struggled to your feet, feeling bruised and dizzy, and threw s fist at him. This time it landed, on his chin that is. Watching as he stumbled back holding his now bloodied lip, you kicked at his side.
Grabbing your foot he threw you to the ground.
You gasped for air as he loomed over you, his expression dark and menacing. "You're a disgrace," he spat. "You'll never be one of us."
You felt a surge of anger at his words, and you pushed yourself up off the ground. "I may not be one of you, but I am not a disgrace," you said, your voice shaking.
Tsu'tey sneered at you, but you refused to back down. You had been upset before, with all the rude and snide remarks he made about you, but now, you were pissed.
Filled with anger, you charged at him, dodging his attacks and landing a few hits of your own. You could feel the adrenaline pumping through your veins, and the thrill of the fight took over.
Finally, he stumbled backward, looking surprised at your sudden burst of energy. You took advantage of his momentary distraction, and landed a final blow that sent him sprawling to the ground.
For a moment, you both lay there, panting and exhausted. Then, Tsu'tey stood up, and stalked off into the trees, leaving you alone.
You slumped down on a log next to Jake, your blood boiling as Mo'at tended to your wounds. Hissing as she cleaned a particularly nasty cut Jake raised a brow at you, "Tough day?"
Groaning in frustration you cover your face with your hands, "Tsu'tey, that skxawng! He makes me so angry!"
Standing, you storm off as Neytiri and Jake exchange glances, "So," Jake says before following Neytiri for more training.
Weeks had since then, and now Tsu'tey had decided to take you on a hunt. But not just any hunt, his goal was to see if you were ready to become one of the people. Although he already knew what the answer would be, he thought to himself as you crawled through the underbrush with him.
Putting a finger to his mouth, he gestured forward, watching as a yerik came into view. Watching as you notched an arrow, he corrected your posture, his hands lingering on your wrists before letting go.
Steadying yourself, his eyes followed the arrow as it flew forward pinning the yerik to the ground. Leaping up he followed you to its side, the beast silent as you took out your knife and began to speak.
"I see you, sister, and thank you, your spirit goes with Eywa, and your body stays behind to become part of the people."
You sheath your knife and pull the arrow from the yerik as Tsu'tey looks down at you, his eyes full of surprise, but also a hint of anger.
Shaking his head, he mutters, "You are not ready."
You freeze and look up at him, "What?"
"Let me say it in English for you, alien, you. are. not. ready," he accentuates each word with a jab at your chest before turning to leave.
Blood boiling with anger you toss your bow to the ground and grab his shoulder, turning him to face you.
"I'm not ready?" you shout, ears pinning back against your hair as you hiss angrily at him.
"How many months has it been since I started training with you? I do everything perfectly and yet all you have to say is, 'horrible, a rock sees more, and yet I'm not ready?"
Tsu'tey slaps your hand away before turning to leave again. But before he can he feels your palm against his cheek.
Laughing sardonically he sneers at you, "You will never be one of the people, alien."
And with that he leaves, leaving you standing over the dead yerik, hot tears of anger rolling down your cheeks.
The walk back to hometree is a long one, and as soon as you find Jake and Neytiri you nearly burst into tears at his words, "y/n! Neytiri said I'm ready-"
He's cut off as Neytiri walks forward, "What is wrong?" she asks, wiping a stray tear from your face.
"It's Tsu'tey-" she cuts you off with a hiss of annoyance.
"Tsu'tey," she mutters under her breath as she leaves in search of Mo'at.
Jake's eyebrows furrow in confusion when Mo'at joins you with Neytiri. And, you gasp Tsu'tey stands behind them his arms crossed his expression unreadable.
"Tsu'tey, do you not have something to say?" Mo'at says as he steps forward, head down.
"You are ready," he whispers, his voice barely audible before he turns and leaves.
"I do not wish to apologize for Tsu'tey's behavior, and actions, but to explain," Mo'at says taking a seat on a log and setting her basket down."
"Tsu'tey had let his hatred of the sky people cloud his judgment today, which led to his harsh words," she pauses as she grabs an herb out of her basket, "but even he cannot deny that you are ready."
Watching as she tosses it back into the basket, you feel a chill run down your spine.
You could feel your stomach churn as you watched Jake tackle an Ikran, struggling with it as it tried to claw its way away from him. But the second he made Tsaheylu, it was done, and he took off, flying into the mountains.
Following the other's lead, you attempted to carefully approach the Ikran before Tsu'tey grabbed your arm. Feeling annoyed at the thought of another lecture from him you reached to slap his hand away when he speaks, "Before you go, know that it will try to kill you."
You look at him, anger now rising in you as you wrench free of his grasp, "I know, Neytiri told me."
Ignoring his stare you approached the Ikran's, noticing the two other Na'vi must have already been chosen you leap at one of the Ikran. Tackling it to the ground, you wrap your legs around its neck as you tie its mouth shut.
"Now, make Tsaheylu," Tsu'tey calls out, as he walks closer to the edge of the cliff.
"I'm trying!" you scream as the Ikran tries to break free from your grasp.
Reaching for your neural link, you finally make Tsaheylu, and sigh in relief before mounting the Ikran.
"Now, you must fly! The first flight seals the bond," Tsu'tey shouts as he mounts his own Ikran.
Glancing nervously at the edge of the cliff, you take off.
As the wind whips through your hair you can't help but smile as you fly between the floating mountains. Although soon enough, your thoughts drift to Tsu'tey. You wonder why he would give you advice, especially since the last time you spoke, he hadn't been the nicest.
You were debating on thanking him when a gust of wind nearly knocked you off your Ikran. Steadying yourself you curse when you see Tsu'tey flying next to you, smirking.
"How about a race, alien?" he says, his voice oddly cheerful as he takes off leaving you in the dust.
"Let's go!" you shout as your Ikran speeds up and passes Tsu'tey.
Waving to him you start to fly toward the trees when his expression changes from one of smugness to fear as a loud screech comes from behind you.
Looking back you mutter, "Oh shit," before following Tsu'tey into the trees, diving around so that the creature behind you doesn't catch the tail of your Ikran.
"This way!" Tsu'tey calls out before you duck and follow him.
After moving through the tightly connected trees the creature screeches in annoyance and flies away. Dismounting you look over at Tsu'tey, eyes wide with concern, "What was that?"
He laughs before dismounting and shakes his head, "You do not know the toruk?"
Tilting your head in confusion, you frown, "No, it's like the Ikran, right?"
Shaking his head again his hand reaches toward you. Your eyes flutter shut at the act, a small blush creeping up your cheeks as he takes a leaf out of your hair and tosses it to the side.
Opening your eyes, you notice how close you are, your noses nearly touch as his hand lingers on your face.
Feeling your heart race and your face turn even redder, you try to back away slightly, but his hand remains on your cheek. "Tsu'tey, what are you doing?" you ask, your voice trembling slightly.
He looks at you with a serious expression, "I am sorry for how I have treated you in the past. I was wrong, and I hope you can forgive me."
Scoffing you look up at him, "I wasn't expecting that-"
But your words are silenced as his lips meet yours, caught off guard by the sudden action. Your eyes widen in surprise before you melt into the kiss, your arms wrapping around his neck as he deepens it.
When you finally pull away, both of you panting, he looks down at you, a soft smile on his lips, "I hope that makes up for it."
You nod, still slightly dazed from the kiss, "Yeah, I think it does."
As you both mount your Ikran again, he takes your hand in his, "Come, let us fly back."
You smile, but feel conflicted as to what these feelings you've developed for Tsu'tey mean.
sorry this was so short! i might write a part 2 to this, comment if you'd be interested?

You sheath your knife and pull the arrow from the yerik as Tsu'tey looks down at you, his eyes full of surprise, but also a hint of anger.

~🌊🌊🌊~
Hot tears mix with the rain as they roll down your cheeks, you take a hand away from your Ikran to push them away, and urge her to move faster. The wind whips through your hair as lightning illuminates the sky, and the sound deafens you as you take refuge in the trees. Landing, you dismount Tompìva and pat her neck, trying to find a somewhat dry place to hide when you spot a small metal building. After calming your Ikran you take refuge inside the small cramped building.
After entering the broken down door, you take note of how strange the small building is, and decide that it must be a skyperson's home. Wringing the water out of your hair you lay down on one of the soft beds at the end of the room, hoping no one will come back here anytime soon you drift off into a dream filled with your sister's shouting and look of disdain.
You feel something tap your arm and flinch, covering your face with your arm, "Five more minutes tsmuke," but the tapping doesn't stop.
Sitting up you glance around the unfamiliar surrounding before remembering the events of the last night. Standing you glance out one of the broken windows, sunlight streaming into it, nearly blinding you.
The ground is soft and muddy under your feet as you step outside, the rain is now long gone. Stepping towards the trees your feet catch on something and you fall face first into the mud, "Damn!"
Groaning, you sit up and inspect it, no damage, but notice a strange metal thing poking out of the ground. Your face contorts in confusion when you look down at it, noticing a skull inside of it.
"What is this?"
Hearing a twig snap, and movement in the leaves, a chill runs down your spine. Your tail flits against the ground nervously as you unsheathe your knife, dropping the skull. The shaking of leaves to your right makes you flinch, turning you watch as a pair of yellow eyes glare at you. And that's when you feel it. An arm throws you to the ground, and another grabs your Tsaheylu and yanks you up.
Hissing at your unseen attacker you struggle against his grip, but it's no use as your knife is knocked from your hand.
"And who might you be?" a voice asks as you flail and kick the air.
His hand grabs your chin roughly and forces you to look up at him, his eyes scanning your face for something. You hiss, baring your teeth at him before he laughs and tightens his grip.
"You don't look like him," he says and you glare.
"I don't understand," you choke out as his hand tilts your head from side to side.
"But you could be useful," dropping your face he turns to leave.
As he takes a step into the trees you watch as an arrow flies past him, landing in the dirt. The end is covered in familiar blue and yellow feathers, and your heart sinks. Why did you follow me here?
Another arrow plants itself in the person who's holding you, and they fall back choking on their own blood. With your new freedom, you snatch up your knife and slash at the two behind you before running to the trees, your legs carrying you as far away as possible before you slump to the ground.
Trying to catch your breath you hear the sound of gunshots ring through the forest. Freezing, you wait before standing and running back to the abandoned building. You can feel your blood run cold at the sight, the strangers gone, and in their place bleeding out on the forest floor is Aosìng.
Kneeling beside him you almost puke. His body is littered with at least five bullet holes, putting pressure on the wound you call for your Ikran.
"Damnit! Why did you follow me here?" you shout as you pull him onto your Ikran and take flight.
~🌊🌊🌊~
It doesn't take long before you reach the parts of the forest you'd never even attempted to go to before. And you watch as the trees begin to thicken blocking out the forest floor. You urge Tompìva to slow down when you see strange tracks parting the trees, and a train comes into view. It speeds along the rail soundlessly as you pass by, careful not to be seen. Hearing the screeching of other Ikran, you glance over to see ten others flying around the train.
Flying lower, you attempt to land when you hear an explosion and feel yourself falling through the sky. Your hold on Aosìng weakens and he slips from your hands.
The last thing you hear before your body hits the ground is the pained screeching of Tompìva as she falls with you.
~🌊🌊🌊~
Neteyam's eyes scan the area around the train as the others grab supplies when he hears the screeching of an Ikran. His head whips around scanning the sky when he spots it, a blue and purple Ikran falling through the sky and into the trees, its rider not far behind. He glances over at Lo'ak before heading off to the forest.
He rushes past the trees trying to find it, hoping it isn't too serious when he spots it. The now dead Ikran laying atop its rider. He rushes to their side slowly lifting the Ikran off of them and gasps. A girl who couldn't be much older than him is lying on the forest floor covered in her own blood.
After lifting her up his face falls once he recognizes her, "y/n?"
There are two bullet holes scattered across your torso, and one almost on your neck. He carefully lifts her into his arms when your eyes shoot open, "Tompìva!"
You leap forward, your hands cradling your Ikran's head in your lap as you sob. He watches as you turn and look around, muttering something he can't hear through your cries before you collapse.
~🌊🌊🌊~
Your head pounds and your eyes flutter open, the glow of fire greeting you. You stand, wincing in pain when you notice someone standing at the entrance, looking in at you. You realize you don't recognize them when a hand forces you to sit.
"Your wounds will reopen if you do not sit and rest," you glance up to see an older woman now checking your wounds.
Slowly scanning the room, your eyes land on your small bag, once filled with flowers and herbs, now laying empty by the fire, and the memories come flooding back.
"Tompìva! Where is she?!? Is she hurt?!?" you shout, your breathing ragged as you frantically reach for your bag, only for a voice to stop you in your tracks.
"Who are you?"
Your hands tightly grip your bag as you look up to see the man in the entrance speaking. He looks familiar, you think to yourself before you clear your throat, answering his question, ""My name is - te Tsyuäval Ìe'ite. I am the Tsak-" you pause, deciding on whether to tell them the truth or not, but decide against it, "Who are you?"
His face is unreadable as he steps closer to the fire, a woman walking in behind him, her eyes with suspicion as she looks you over.
"What were you doing in the forest? And where are you from?"
You glare at him, repeating yourself, "My name is - te Tsyuäval Ìe'ite. Who are you?"
He groans in frustration as the woman next to him puts a hand on his shoulder, whispering something in his ear.
You cross your arms and watch as they argue, before he turns to you again, "I am Jake Sully, Toruk Makto, and Olo'eyktan of the Omatikaya Clan. Now, what were you doing in the forest and where are you from?"
You cover your mouth, concealing a gasp as you realize where it is you recognize him from.
"Ikeyni," you cough and wince before continuing, "I am Ikeyni's sister, Tsakarem of the Tayrangi Clan of the Eastern Sea."
He looks at you in confusion, looking to the woman before she speaks, "Ikeyni?."
A look of surprise washes over Jake's face as he turns to you, "Then what were you doing in the forest?"
You can feel tears pricking at your eyes when you recall the last conversation you had with your sister, and how you stormed off in the middle of the night.
"I was gathering herbs," you lie, your voice cracking at the end, and you can already feel the hot tears spilling down your cheeks.
His voice is solemn when asks his next question, "And where is your Ikran?"
A sob escapes you as you wipe away your tears, "She is with Eywa now," your hands wipe furiously at your eyes as your body is wracked with sobs.
Neytiri turns to Jake, her eyes full of concern, "We should let her rest, for now."
He nods in agreement before leaving, thinking about what to do next.
~🌊🌊🌊~
You wake in a cold sweat, your dreams filled with the screeching of Tompìva, and your sister's words, "You are the Tsakarem, future Tsahìk of our Clan. What would I do if you had-"
You shake your head, pushing the thoughts away when you hear someone clear their throat. You turn to see Kiri standing in the entrance, a plate of food in her hands. She gives you a small smile as she walks towards you, taking a seat in front of you.
"Hi," you take the plate from her, careful not to spill its contents on the floor.
"Hi Kiri, right?" you whisper, your voice still hoarse from the screaming.
"I didn't think I'd see you so soon again," she says as you take a small bite of the fruit on the plate, cringing when the sour taste envelopes your mouth.
You thank her and push your hair out of your face, dreading what will happen when your sister finds out where you are.
"If it's okay, can I ask more about the Eastern Sea?"
Her voice is cautious, as she looks down at the floor. Setting your bowl down you nod, grateful for a brief reprieve from the events of the day.
"There's sand everywhere, and the ocean is always so pretty-"
You're cut off when you hear someone clear their throat. Looking up you see Jake standing with his arms crossed as he nods to Kiri.
She gives you another smile and grabs your plate, "I hope you recover soon."
You return her smile and thank her again before Jake walks closer to the fire, his brow twisted in contemplation.
Your eyes stare at the floor as you wait for him to speak, your hands twisting the ends of your hair. And you wonder where you lost your hairclip when he finally speaks, "So, you won't be able to leave right now," he gestures to your wounds, "But once you're all healed up, we'll take you back, okay?"
You frown, "What of my sister?"
Head spinning you jumped to your feet, nearly doubling over in pain as you hobbled to the entrance, "I swear I saw her Ikran before..."
He sighs as he rubs his eyes, "Ikeyni is fine, your friend however," he trails off as if trying to find the right words to say before continuing, "He'll live, but it will take longer for him to recover."
"My friend?" you question as you sit up, trying to remember more of what had happened before you blacked out.
That's when it hits you, Aosìng, that stupid skxawng! He had somehow managed to find you and from the looks of it, abandoned the raid. Which shouldn't have been for another two days...
"Was that, the raid?" you ask quietly crossing your arms.
Jake nods as Mo'at leaves, "It was moved forward after a change of plans."
But before he can you grab his arm, "Does she know where I am?"
Jake takes a deep breath before answering, "No, she doesn't know where you are."
You feel a mixture of relief and guilt wash over you. Relief that your sister is safe, but guilt for how you left things with her.
"When can I leave?" you ask, looking up at him.
"We'll take care of you until you're healed enough to travel, and then we'll take you back," he replies, his voice steady.
You nod slowly, taking in his words. You know that you owe gratitude to the Omatikaya for saving your life, but you can't help but feel like you were worsening things with your sister by staying.
Laying down as he leaves you let yourself drift off to an uncomfortable sleep.
~🌊🌊🌊~
Neteyam's eyes glanced over at Kiri as she filled a bowl with more fruit. His tail flicked about impatiently as she started to leave. Crossing his arms he gently grabbed her shoulder, "Do you mind if I take it to her?"
Kiri glanced up at him and smiled, "Sure," she said before handing him the bowl.
Carefully walking to the end of the caves, Neteyam entered your hut to see you sitting in front of the fire arms crossed.
"Kiri, I'm not really-"
Clearing his throat, Neteyam interrupted you, "Here."
Watching as you accepted the bowl from him he sat across from the fire.
"Are you, okay?" he asks and then immediately bites his tongue.
Your expression is one of worry mixed with guilt as you set the bowl down.
"Sorry, I shouldn't have-"
"It's okay," you reassure, giving him a small smile before continuing, "I feel guilty," you pause at the feeling of warm tears rolling down your face.
Feeling a warmth on your face you blink, and see Neteyam's hand wiping away the falling tears.
"Guilt over what?" he asks his voice low.
"I got into a fight, with my sister," a sob wracks your body as you remember the look on her face as you left.
She had been so disappointed.
Netetyam's mouth opened and closed, trying to think of what to say, before a sob wracked your body. He quickly wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you close, resting his chin on top of your head.
A few moments of silence had passed, Neteyam's chest now wet with your tears before you heard something clatter to the floor.
Looking over Neteyam's shoulder you flinched, Aosìng was standing in the entrance, gripping it so hard his hand shook.

The warm ocean water surrounds you as you dive in, a smile forming on your lips as you and your ilu swim forward. The colorful fish and plants flew past as you sped up and then stopped spotting one of your favorite spots on the sea floor. A circle of small grey algae-covered rocks. Sitting atop your ilu you contemplated what to do next, and feel a tap on your shoulder. You flail forward, falling from your ilu as it swims behind the rocks, and turn to see Kiri smiling at you.
Breathing a sigh of relief you smile back as she signs "Mind if I join you?"
Feeling your face heat up, you agree and take a seat on one of the rocks, Kiri taking a seat next to you.
You and Kiri sit in comfortable silence for a moment, both just enjoying the peacefulness of the underwater world. You steal glances at her every now and then, admiring the way the water plays with her hair and the way her eyes light up when she spots a particularly interesting creature.
Suddenly, a school of colorful fish swims by and Kiri points them out to you, signing excitedly. You nod in agreement, and she takes your hand in hers, as a particularly large orange fish swims between the two of you.
You steal another glance at her, and this time she catches your eye. She smiles at you, a knowing look in her eye, and you feel your cheeks flush with embarrassment.
Looking down at the sand you sign, "If it's okay, can I ask what the Omatikaya Clan is like? I've never left the village before."
She nods, "It's okay, I was the same way when I heard we were coming here."
"The Omatikaya Clan is in the forest, well now it's in the Mountains," her eyes light up when the word 'Mountains' leaves her lips.
"The floating Mountains, I think you would really like them," she smiles, and her nose crinkles, which you find quite cute.
Wait- What? You found it cute? You could already feel the blood rushing to your face, now covered in blush as you buried your face in your hands. Although, if Kiri noticed, she didn't mention it.
She looks back out into the water, a serene expression on her face. "I hope one day you can come to our clan and see it for yourself. I think you would love it there."
You nod in agreement, feeling a sense of longing to see the Omatikaya Clan and the floating Mountains she described. It sounded like a magical place, unlike anything you had ever seen before.
Watching as another school of fish swims by you feel a hand in your hair, flinching you watch as Kiri untangles a piece of kelp from your hair. Her hand just slightly brushes your cheek as she tosses it to the side.
Watching as her eyes follow the next school of fish, you wonder why you had never noticed the pretty gold flecks in her yellow eyes, and how they reminded you of the setting sun. Suddenly, you felt panic rising in you as she met your gaze. You tried to look away, but she gently lifted your chin, forcing you to meet her gaze.
"Is everything okay?" she signed, her eyes full of concern.
You tried to speak, but your throat was tight. You felt like you were suffocating, unable to express the overwhelming emotions that were flooding your body. You tried to pull away, but Kiri held firmly, refusing to let you go.
"Please, talk to me," she signed.
Finally, you found your voice, the words tumbling out of your mouth before you could stop them.
"I'm sorry, Kiri. I'm just..." you trail off, your hands falling by your side.
"It's okay," she reassures as her hand brushes past yours.
Feeling a shiver run down your spine at her touch, you can't help but wonder why you find her so pretty as the sun shines down on her from the surface. But before you can dwell on it further, Kiri looks up at you with a mischievous glint in her eye.
"Race you back to the village?" she signs, a playful grin on her face.
"But you didn't bring an ilu, did you?" you sign standing and helping her up from the rock.
She frowns before signing back, "I guess not, would you mind if I rode back with you?"
You shake your head, feeling the rush of excitement course through you once again. You couldn't help but wonder if this was Kiri's way of trying to distract you from your earlier panic attack. But you push those thoughts aside and focus on the present, eager to race back to the village with her.
You both climb onto your ilu, Kiri sitting behind you, her arms wrapped around your waist. You can feel her breath on the back of your neck, and your heart races as your ilu takes off, speeding towards the village.
The wind rushes past you, and you feel alive, the adrenaline pumping through your veins. You glance back at Kiri, and she catches your eye, a smile on her face. You can't help but smile back, feeling a warmth spreading throughout your body.
As you reach the village, you slow down, coming to a stop near the shore. Kiri hops off your ilu, and you turn to face her, feeling a sense of sadness wash over you. You didn't want this moment to end.
"Thanks for the ride," she says, a smile on her face.
You nod, feeling a lump form in your throat. "Anytime," you reply, hoping that she could see the sincerity in your eyes.
You watch as she joins her brothers, feeling a strange pang of longing. You couldn't help but wonder when you would see her next, but for now, you were content with the memories of talking with her and the rush of racing back to the village.

And now I know, now I know It's time to go, it's time to go...
~➳➳➳~
The days seemed to go by in the blink of an eye, and suddenly it was time for you to leave the lab. You quickly packed your things when you heard a knock on the door. You turned to see Norm standing in the threshold of your room, a plain wooden box in his hand.
"Can I come in?" he asks as you nod slowly.
He takes a seat at the end of your bed next to your bag and sighs, his mouth opening and closing, trying to think of the words to say when you purse your lips and take a seat next to him.
"What's that?" you ask crossing your legs and resting your chin in the palm of your hand.
He sighs again, "Grace kept this for you," he opened the box, revealing a beaded necklace resting atop a faded leather journal.
You glance up at him curiously as you grab the necklace, the beads cold as ice as you set it on your nightstand. He cautiously hands you the journal and you frown, "What's this?" you ask as you run your fingers over the faded cover.
"It was your Mother's journal," he says as he stands to leave, but you stand, nearly tripping over your own feet.
"Why did she have this? My mom's never even set foot here before," you say.
And it was true. Your Mother had been a professor at Harvard, her course mainly consisting of the ecology of Pandora. She had always lamented that she never got the chance to visit.
"I think you'll find more questions than answers if you read it," he says with a sad smile as he leaves you standing there holding the journal.
Don't know what kind of answer that is, you think to yourself as you quickly flip until you find your Mother's handwriting, and begin to read.
"I'm not sure what to write in this notebook, but I feel like I have to. I guess this isn't a diary, but more of a field log.
"I was so happy when I got the assignment here, I jumped out of my chair in joy. I never thought I'd get the chance to visit Pandora.
"It's so, beautiful here, and so different from our dying planet. I hope I can share this when I return home.
"They say the fauna here is dangerous, but I haven't seen anything that scares me yet. When I last went out with Grace I saw a herd of angtsìk as we took samples. They were rather intimidating, but we lived."
It was dated March, 14th, 2129.
You turn the page to find a sketch of a herd of angtsìk heading out towards the plains, "Aris" written under your mother's signature.
You flip to the next page and find a journal entry dated June, 25th, 2129.
", was my friend, my mentor, and my sister. I know I'm just a scientist and not a soldier, so there was nothing I could do to save her, but I can't stop that memory from playing over and over in my head. Grace tells me not to blame myself, but who else is there to blame but me?"
The next part was scratched through with pen to the point of it being unreadable, leading to the last sentence on the page,
"I can't bring myself to leave. I just keep thinking that the next time I leave he'll be next."
After noticing the name at the beginning had been scratched out, you carefully tuck the journal into your bag, and lie back on your bed, taking out your hair clip and placing it on the nightstand beside you. You turn over and turn off the lamp, your eyes fluttering closed.

The bag of clothes you had packed was now sitting discarded with Norm in front of the lab, and you groaned in frustration as you tried to find a good hiding spot for your communicator in it, burying it under your favorite sweatshirt, praying to Eywa or whoever was out there that it didn't ring when you were gone.
Seeing that your two weeks were up, you cautiously walked up to Jake and his Ikran, his gaze stern as he regarded you, and then helped you up climbing on behind you.
You gave a quick wave to Norm and Max as you took off and hoped that it would be over soon.
You clenched your eyes as the wind blows across your face, making it hard to breathe when you could feel the Ikran land. Your eyes fluttered open and you gasped as you looked around, the caves were dense and cold, with water dripping down the stone making them up. It was strangely beautiful, you thought as Jake helped you down and led you to a small fire. You sat down and warmed your hands by the fire you realized your hair clip was slipping out of your braid, so you quickly fixed it.
Your eyes lingered on the fire as Jake spoke, "First thing in the morning we'll begin," he says his hands tying a bag shut as the smell of smoke and the crackling of the fire lulled you into a deep sleep.

Your fingers twist a strand of your hair nervously as Neytiri looks you over. Her eyes narrow as your eyes fall to the floor, hands twisting your hair again.
She turns to Jake, "I told you not to bring her here, and yet here she is."
Her tail flicks back and forth impatiently as he places a hand on her shoulder, "I know I said she wouldn't be back, but she needs help," he said his voice pleading with her.
She grumbles as she turns, "Bring her to Mother then," she says as she turns to leave.
You feel a blush creeping up your face as Mo'at looks you over, grabbing your Tsaheylu and then your face, staring into your eyes before releasing you.
She cups her face in her hand, "It is strange, the girl," she pauses to grab a piece of bone from her necklace and prick you with it, bringing it to her mouth.
"She has Tsaheylu, and her eyes have changed, but there have been no other changes to her?"
She asks as she turns to Jake, her eyes narrowing at him.
He sighs before answering, "No, there haven't been any other confirmed changes to her," he gestures to you.
You frown as Mo'at closes her eyes in thought before she looks to you, "You will learn from Jake Sully, and you best learn well."
You gulp nervously as she leaves the three of you alone. Neytiri huffs as she leaves, crossing her arms. Jake looks over to you and gestures for you to follow him.
After getting changed you watch as Jake walks over to his Ikran, motioning for you to join him. You carefully step closer to it and try not to fall off the edge of the cave opening.
"Where are we going?" you ask as he helps you up.
"To your first lesson, on Tsaheylu."

Standing at the edge of a clearing, you watch as Jake leads over a direhorse and smile. This shouldn't be too bad, you think to yourself as you gently pat its neck, remembering the time Neteyam took you to see the direhorses, and how you fell flat on your face the first time you rode one.
~➳➳➳~
Neteyam's hand gripped yours gently as he lead you through the forest, the bioluminescent plants lighting your way. The air was warm and sticky, making your hair stick to your face as you wiped away sweat, still not used to the climate on Pandora.
You hummed as you felt his grip on your hand tightens, "So, where are we going again? You ask as you adjust your hair clip with your free hand, trying to keep it from falling out.
"You'll see soon, we're almost there," he says and you can hear the excitement in his voice as he helps you up onto a log that acts as a sort of bridge. You look down nervously and realize how far the drop-off is when a piece of wood you had carelessly kicked fell off the side.
It feels like an eternity when you finally make it to the direhorses. Well, one direhorse to be specific. You watch as Neteyam guides it toward you, and you gasp. It has to be at least ten feet tall. You wonder if there happens to be a step stool around when you feel Neteyam lift you up and onto the direhorse.
"This is Aknìä," he says as you wrap your legs around the direhorse, "she is a pa’li."
Aknìä snorts as Neteyam grabs your hand and helps you up, but it's a gentle snort, not one of annoyance, and you feel yourself relaxing. Neteyam gently places your hands on Aknìä's neck, and your hair clip slips, falling to the ground. You gasp, but watch as Neteyam catches it, gently working it back into your hair.
Your hands shake as Neteya, directs you on how to make Tsaheylu with Aknìä. You make Tsaheyl si and feel a shiver run down your spine, as his hand steadies you.
"You can tell her what to do through your thoughts, but for now tell her where to go."
You nod nervously before you whisper, "Go?"
And with that Aknìä takes off, and you feel yourself fall to the ground.
Neteyam rushes over when he sees you fall face-first into the mud, as concern rises in him. He gently grabs your hand a helps you up as you cough, smearing the mud across your face.
"Are you alright?" he asks as you approach Aknìä again.
You turn to him and smile, "Yeah. So, let's try this one more time."
Neteyam laughs, a small smile curling on his lips as he helps you up again.

You listen as Jake explains Tsaheylu and how to connect with the direhorse, whose name is Pale, and you carefully mount. You steady yourself, your legs gripping tightly so you don't fall as you grab your Tsaheylu and make Tsaheyl si with Pale.
"Now, tell it where to go," he says pointing forward, as you take a deep breath, and say "Forward."
Pale takes off, galloping through the clearing, the wind whips past your face as you smile, and urge her to go faster.
That is until you hear Jake yelling for you to stop, and you realize you've already made it to the other side of the clearing, and are on the precipice of stepping into the other side of the forest. You quickly turn around and gallop back to him, watching him shake his head in annoyance, and then rub his eyes.
"Okay, so it looks like you already know how the Tsaheylu works, let's move on, "he says as you dismount patting Pale's neck gently as he grabs a bow and a quiver full of colorfully feathered arrows and hands them to you.
You quickly string the bow as Jake walks over and corrects your posture. "Now, shoot the target," he says as he points at a rock a few yards away.
You quickly turn to face the target and pull the string back and let it go, feeling the bow shudder in your hands as you miss the target entirely.
Jake shakes his head as you run over to retrieve the arrow.
"You need to pull the string back more, kid," he says as he hands you another arrow, "Again."
You nod taking in his words as you feel your face turn red in frustration, and you notch the arrow, this time pulling it back farther. You feel it shudder in your hands, and your face stings from where you held the string too close to your face. Then you watch in disappointment as it misses the target yet again.
Jake hands you another arrow wordlessly and you take it, your hands shaking as you notch it.

You wince as your hands reach out to grab your dinner, the newly forming blisters hurting every time you move them. You sit across from the small bonfire and glance over Jake's shoulder, where everyone else is sat together, talking and laughing. You sigh and begin to eat.
Your eyes look up to the opening in the cave, the stars shining down at you. A chill runs down your spine when you recall your Mother's journal, the one you'd left behind. You really should have read the rest before you left, for a year no less. Well, depending on how much and how long it took you to learn the way of the Omatikaya people.
"We'll start early tomorrow, more practice with the bow," Jake says interrupting your thoughts.
Your eyes glance over at him and you bite your lip before asking, "You knew Grace, right?"
You see his mouth visibly clamp shut when the question leaves your mouth. You rest your chin in your hand before continuing, "So, did she ever say anything about, my mom?"
He sighs heavily before he stands, "She didn't, not to me at least," and turns to leave, reminding you to be ready in the morning.
A sigh leaves your lips before you put out the small fire, wondering if your aunt had never mentioned your mother, why she'd kept her journal after all those years.

Jake walks past the other's still eating and stands by the entrance of his home. He sits down in front of the fire, Neytiri sitting down next to him resting her head on his shoulder, "What have you taught her?"
Jake's eyes meet hers as he kisses her softly, "She already knows how Tsaheylu works, I can only imagine who taught her that," his voice is dripping with sarcasm as Kiri walks past them.
Neytiri sighs and Jake picks up on the slight annoyance in her tone, "You still don't trust her, do you?"
"No, but the children have taken a liking to her, so I will giver her a chance," she whispers before her eyes flutter close.

Neteyam carefully creeps outside of the hut, making sure to not wake anyone as he carefully walks around the other tents. After reaching the farthest end of the cave, he lifted the flap of the tent entrance.
His lips curled into a smile as he whisper shouted your name, making you jump and nearly fall face first into the fire.
Hearing laughter you look up at him a groan, "You're not supposed to be here!" you hiss through your teeth as you feel his lips on yours.
Pushing him away you sit back by the fire again. Wrapping your furs around you, you feel him move closer to lean his head against your shoulder. You smile and place a kiss on his temple.
"Tell me about it," he whispers, his yellow eyes, shining in the firelight gazing up at you.
"About what?"
"Earth, what's it like?"
Your smile drops and not even the flames of the fire can warm you. Earth. What was it like? You had been gone for half a year already, and in one and a half, you'd be gone. And there it was, the guilt twisting in your stomach again. Feeling Neteyam's head fall into your lap, you wondered what he would think of you when you left Pandora. The betrayal, was one that was understandable to yourself, but not to him or any of his family. You had been pondering how to broach the subject, but with the General constantly holding your Mother's cure over your head, you had no choice but to wait it out and bite your tongue.
At least, that's what you wanted to say, but you knew that you couldn't go through with it. And you had a feeling you knew when that uncertainty started to consume you.
Watching as Neteyam patiently waited for an answer, his tail wrapping around your waist loosely, you smiled, "Well, when I left it was pretty bad. They don't call it a 'dying planet' for no reason."
"What was your favorite thing about it?"
Humming to yourself you push a loose piece of hair away from his face, "I want to say, the beach, or the snow. I'm tied between the two," you laughed under your breath at his expression when the word 'snow' left your lips.
"Snow?" He questioned as his tail tightened its grip on your waist, making you blush, heat racing up from your neck.
Nodding you whispered, "Herwì in Na'vi, small flakes of snow float around the sky, and sometimes they stick to the ground," you pause, smiling at the last memory you had of the snow.
He laughed before giving you a quick kiss, then returned to lay his head on your lap.
"It's kind of hard to describe okay!"
You chew on your lip, wondering how to explain it better, "It makes things colder, like really cold. The last time I saw it snow, me and my mom were stuck inside for three days," you trail off, your smile falling at the thought of your Mother.
Biting your lip your eyes meet Neteyam's, the gold flecks in his yellow eyes entrancing, you speak, "Can I tell you something?"
His expression falters at your nervousness, you sounded worried and maybe even scared?
Grabbing your hand in his he brings it to his lips, "You can tell me anything, ma Sky girl."
You turn away, biting your lip hard enough to draw blood, the anxiousness and guilt rising again. Taking a deep breath, you decided you'd wait just a bit longer before saying anything. Things were too... complicated now, you would wait until after your time with Omatikaya was up and meet with the General.
"Is something wrong?"
Neteyam cups your face in his hands before his lips meet yours, and you sigh, before laying down next to him, the sound of the fire lulling you to sleep.
~➳➳➳~
The first thing that greets you when you wake is a field of white, and icy cold wind. Rubbing your eyes you turn to see a small and familiar cabin sitting in the clearing behind you. Smoke pours out of the chimney as you hear a low growl, turning you see nothing. Pulling your scarf closer to your chest you run into the house, the warmth blasting you as the door swings open. Pulling off your snow boots, and putting away your scarve and jacket you look into the living room to see your Mother sitting on the couch, her hand clenching her auburn hair so tightly you fear she may tear it out when you notice the phone to her ear.
Careful not to knock any of the many stacks of books on the floor over, you try to listen to her conversation, her voice tense and icy as she talks.
"You don't understand Grace, this is my life's work we're talking about here. I can't just let them take-"
You feel a pit in your stomach at the name Grace, she had to be talking to your aunt. Leaning closer, your nails dig into the wooden corner.
"I know, I know. But I can't let them do that to her, she's my daughter Grace," her voice is tired and quiet now as you strain to hear what your aunt is saying.
"The contract clearly states you cannot run off with lab materials, I know what she means to you but they'll never stop coming after you, you know that. I can't keep them away any longer," she pauses and your Mother's frantic voice interrupts.
"Can't you just keep it up a bit longer? I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere right now, we'll be gone soon I promise."
Grace sighs, her voice filled with annoyance, "I can't, I'm leaving."
"Leaving? Where?"
"Selene, I'm going back to Pandora. I don't know how long I'll be gone, but I-"
Cutting her off your Mother stands and starts to pace around the living room, "No, no, you can't leave-"
She freezes when your eyes meet, dropping the phone as she runs to your side, her arms wrapping around you tightly.
You can feel her lips moving against your temple as something sharp pricks your side, and everything goes dark.
