this is going to sound like such a little sibling ass take but i genuinely believe that being a little bit annoying is actually a greater sign of maturity and self awareness than being universally likeable and on good terms with everyone

MANNY JACINTO for the New York Times (2024)
Was this a success for you? Absolutely. Not that it’s been a battle, but a lot of people have resonated with my character on “The Good Place.” Whenever they see me, they see Jason Mendoza. At least in my inner circles, people have been very complimentary [about “The Acolyte”]. Like, “I never knew you were able to do something like that. I never knew that you could tap into a character like this.” This is coming even from people I worked with on “The Good Place.” So, that in itself is a huge win for me.

i don’t know if this is the withdrawal setting in but I really need a deadloch lady parts crossover because just imagine.. lady parts world tour gets booked for this tiny town in Tasmania and they’re completely baffled by it until they show up and realize the town is 90% lesbians having booked them for an avante garde sapphic art festival because they “play in the space” with their “satire of patriarchy”. Ayesha suddenly surrounded by lesbians with zero filter, Bisma being able to commune with her fellow artists, Amina trying her best to have a beach day in the frigid weather. Most importantly
do we think they would fucking hate each other

I constantly think about the quote (literally no idea what it’s from) I read once about how teenage girls want to fuck their band guy idols because it’s the closest they can get to wanting to BE their band guy idols. Like damn… way to recontextualize my entire adolescence with 1 sentence

the assurance "nobody is judging you" is straight up false... people ARE judging you and you have to find a way to be ok w it
