it's very funny every time i see the illiterate ogre image being edited by people with surface level comprehension of their media of choice to poke fun at their own surface level comprehension, because inevitably what they fill in as the deeper ideas that ogre will never understand are also surface level. because the person casting themselves as ogre indeed cannot actually identify anything beyond surface level themes. this is not a mean spirited post i think there's something very compelling about this humoristic framework for identifying and acknowledging one's own limitations having this problem of its punchlines inevitably being not as good as they could be, because by nature of the joke the actual best punchline is beyond the poster's understanding. and yet, in this, a new punchline is created. ogre would do well to ruminate on this.
