Fireworks really hit different when you’ve been watching innocent people be bombed and slaughtered relentlessly for well over a year while your own fucking government supplies the weapons that are doing it...

Like I sit here well aware that I live with the safety and privilege of being able to know that that is Just a firework going off outside meanwhile in places like Gaza whole families have been getting wiped out, and hospitals, mosques, schools and the like have been attacked repeatedly.

What is used as a celebration marker here to mark Guy Fawkes Night or New Year for example, means death and destruction there. It’s impossible to not be reminded of Gaza whenever I hear a big boom bc that sort of sound has been the backdrop of every Palestinian’s videos coming out of there over the last year.

They're implementing a new rule where if you discuss "sensitive social issues" at all you have to flag your streams as such, these issues include things like war and political unrest but also any lgbtq topics (once again our existence is political).

Essentially a streamer will have to choose between never ever mentioning anything queer (or even just discussing their own life if they're queer themselves) or flagging every stream with "sensitive social issues" and scaring away 90% of viewers.
