The characters looked wierd here. I liked paper and colored pencils better, but with the Sketch App, I was able to make special effects like a lightsaber and other useful things. I got better by Season 4.

These were the final episodes to Season 3. In the beginning, as crazy as it sounds, I used my phone to draw. Big Mistake! The characters looked ugly as hell and then I started to use my old tablet. It was easier to draw there than on the phone! You can see the difference a little with the bottom ones. It was the first time I used digital art and it was pretty new territory for me.

This scene is the most emotional and powerful in season 3. My only regret is the stupid picture quality. I might be able to remake this scene in a future episode. Like a special! A recap! Maybe. Here, Matt and Lucy finally share their first kiss and one that will ignite a powerful bond in the future. Matt and Lucy's love story goes beyond season 3, since in Season 4, they continue to stay together despite a dark and heavy trial that goes against them. (No spoilers). Season 5 and finally 6 will continue with them staying together. No, I refuse to have them break up. They will stay together, until the series comes to a close. One fo the biggest challenges for me when making these characters was the character development. Matt had the advantage of being a regular character since season 1. Lucy was a brand new character, so I took a lot of time trying to mold her into someone powerful and not a damsel in distress. Lucy was originally going to be like that, however Lucy was created during the Me Too movement. After hearing about how women were treated in the media and beyond, I realized that Lucy had to be stonger and more powerful. So, I created a backstory for her, facing against her own arch nemesis, The Bryan Man, who will eventually fight Lucy for the final time in Season 5, and when she shared that kiss with Matt in this episode, It felt so rewarding and satisfying. I have no regrest. Lucy is by far one of my strongest characters to date.

About the Screenshots

The art that was posted over and over were screen shots from the youtube fan series "The Mystery Bros" Season 3. You see, this started out as a Gravity Falls fan fiction video series in Youtube, but I used fan art from a ton of different artists. In the end, I decided to draw the characters myself for season 3. Sorry for the picture quality. I had to rush to get them all in. Well most of it. These were on paper and others were in sketch books. Now the following art that will be posted on top is art that I created using the new tool, Sketch App. I don't use fancy programs to make my art and I'm actually happy with the results.
