every day i think about Stacker referring to Hermann as “my experts”. it’s just easier to talk like he still has a full K-sci team than it would be to disclose the full, concerning truth about the skeleton crew he’s operating. not to mention the fact that he has full fucking faith in this one man, that he has no need for anyone else and certainly no need to justify his faith because Hermann’s work speaks for itself. idk i’m severely sleep deprived

you receive an invitation to a zoom call from an unknown contact and when you open the link i’m already there waiting for you. on my screen you see an 80 slide powerpoint presentation on the Godzilla franchise. you can’t hang up.

what’s funniest about the pacific rim scientists is like. when newt geiszler says he’s a scientist he means an old-timey 1910s entomologist wearing khaki shorts and a comically oversized pair of binoculars traipsing through the jungle capturing endangered species of butterfly and murmuring “egads!! fascinating…..” and scribbling it in his journal. when hermann gottlieb is being a scientist it’s literally the fucking manhattan project. tortured chainsmoking physicist. pawn of a war. repressed homosexual all his life. gets executed for being a communist. And they have to do each other’s peer review

i feel like we don’t talk enough about how smart Mako is? i mean if i can make an assumption based on the influences she has on Danger’s rebuild, i.e the chain swords, she has definitely studied enough specifics to be a weapons specialist. and judging by the influence she has on Raleigh’s recruitment/testing she could either also be a neural bridge operator or at least has studied the science behind the drift enough to be able to act as one in the case of Lady Danger. and she’s also in charge of the M.3 restoration program, so she’s also just straight up a prodigious jaeger engineer. this woman is canonically like 25 years old at the most ?? and she is basically the entire j-tech department. i would die for her.

drew my friends’ d&d characters and finally learned how digital art is supposed to work, expect reposts of better versions of my pacrim art plus new definitely kaiju related stuff!

newmann are autistic for sure like if you say that about a character online people want you to prove it in the battle arena or w/e but they just are. any person irl can see that theyre clearly intended to be so whats with demanding proof like just watch the movie. proof about this is only ever asked when its said by someone not using it in a negative way.

like whenever a character has no filter and takes too long to realize other people think theyre rude everyone knows what that means. and a character that doesnt talk to others & is overly formal when they do you get whats up. both characters having no social skills and self isolating and the audience + other characters + even the tone of the movie saying theres something different about them compared to everyone else. also every single time theres genius characters talented in their specific topic but terrible socially WE KNOW
