"Yeah I get that, I mean, I do now, but if you asked me like a year or two ago, I would have been crazy enough to tell you that Mississippi was still my home."

"Oh wow, that's very ambitious, no wonder you've been busy," Jenny says with a nod and polite smile. " What brings me back to Manhattan? My plan was always to come back, I just didn't know when" She explained," I can curse it all I want, but Manhattan is home, you know?"

"Yeah that is very true." Kai looked at Luna. "It could always be worse though, right? Or is that just the delusion talking?"

"Don't think too much about it, Kai. People just suck and want someone to blame for whatever is going wrong in their day."

"Yeah, true." Kai looked at her. "Hopefully people just pull the sticks out of their ass soon though, that would be great."

"That is true. But that is people for you."

"Yeah I guess, but still people shouldn't get mad if I don't know something, you know?"

"I don't think it's you. I think it's just this city!"

"They're...going." Kai answered with a laugh and looked at her. "I'm studying to be a biochemist so it's a lot of science and math." He said. "That's pretty cool though, what brings you back to Manhattan?"

"Oh, alright, well in that case, how are your studies going? and what are you studying?" she wondered curiously."I'm great, been traveling the world for a year, can't exactly complain about that can I? " she chuckled a little bit.

"I'm in college, I'm used to cheap and crappy drinks, that's how."

"Oh my God that is so strong." Sarah made a face and put her drink down. "How do you drink that?" She laughed. @ggstarterblog

Kai had just gotten out of his last class for the day when he nearly ran into Jenny and chuckled. "I...I honestly don't know. I try to just focus on my college studies and that's it." He admitted. "How are you doing though, Jenny? Welcome back, by the way."

Jenny adjusted the straps of her well-worn backpack and took a deep breath as she stepped out into the crisp New York air. The buzz of taxi horns and chatter felt both overwhelming and comforting, like stepping into a song she used to know by heart. A faint smile tugged at her lips—it was strange how familiar it all still felt.

She turned, scanning the crowd for the rideshare she had booked, but instead, her gaze landed on a face she recognized. Her heart skipped, and she froze for a moment before she broke into a soft laugh. “Well, look who it is. I wasn’t expecting to run into you here of all places.”

The breeze caught her hair as she tilted her head, curiosity lighting up her expression. “So, what’s the story? Still the same old New York—or have I missed something big?”

"Aren't you like a huge movie buff or a ciniphile? I have no clue what the actual word for that would be." Kai laughed. "I take it that you don't know how you feel about it, probably means it was bad."

"I do what I can when I'm not too busy with my own studies at school. Hell, I've even invited him to come spend some time at the dorms with me." Kai said. "And thank you, I think it helps that I was the oldest out of the friend group." He joked.

" The best option is to try and keep him out of trouble...maybe be around him more often, you're not a bad influence on him, Kai."

"Oh come on Stella, don't give me the cold shoulder and treat me like shit." Kai looked at Stella. "You don't get to treat me like shit just because Gossip Girl broke the news about you being adopted."

Stella pursed her lips and looked at Kai. "You think that just because we've been hanging out, you have a right to my feelings?" She asked. She knew she was being unfair to Kai, he had always been kind to her and he wasn't a bad guy, but she needed to let her anger out on someone. "News flash, this isn't a Disney movie, so you can't."

"While I was away on my surf trip, Elise and I apparently got married."

"I know and I'm not gonna push her on anything, she knows I'm here or her if she needs to talk." Kai looked at Hal. "How are things with Amber? Doesn't her tour start soon?"

"Ah, I thought so. Just give her some time, Kai. Maybe she needs time to sort through our family thing, she's not really used to everything yet. Neither am I but we just have to stick it out until it comes back to normalcy." Hal told his friend and looked at him. "Once everything has settled down, that's when you should go and confront her about it."

Kai laughed. "Not all beer is bad, but then again, I like the taste of beer and most people don't." He shrugged.

"They like beer, Kia, it's all bad." Kiara looed at him and laughed. "It won't piss them off, they'll just be happy that they have beer."
