Jaguar E-Type 9600HP, 77RW & chassis number 885005, 1961. To mark the 60th anniversary of their Geneva debut in 1961 the three original Jaguar E-Type launch cars have been reunited for the first time at Wappenbury Hall, the home Jaguar founder, Sir William Lyons. Their presentation marks what would have been Lyons’ 120th birthday on the September 4. Of the three cars, 9600HP, 77RW were used for the Geneva Motor Show press drives, and chassis number 885005 was the original static car displayed on the Motor Show stand. The black & white photos show Sir William Lyons presenting E-type ’9600HP’ to invited media at the Parc des Eaux Vives, Geneva in 1961 and Jaguar E-type 77 RW on a demonstration run with test driver and development engineer Norman Dewis.
