Miso~ Hungry Me eat at Miso~ Situated in World Square in the CBD this restraunt has some of the best Pork Katsu in Sydney at very reasonable prices. While Katsu is their speciality, they do offer a range of other dishes, why you would forgo the Juicy, crunchy, soft and scrumptious Pork Cutlet for anything else is beyond me hahaha. I recommend getting there before they open at 530pm or prepare for a wait since they're so popular. Miso 20/123 Liverpool St Sydney Kai-rating: 4.5/5

Brunch @ Cafe Oratnek 4 Pitt St, Redfern. The Cafe was a 5-10min walk from refers station, decided to go there because I wanted ochazuke and it was the first on the list given to me by almighty Google. The ochazuke was a good meal, bit different from usual where the dashi here was chilled. Was definitely good after the walk from the station. The iced matcha was a bit on the weaker side use to a stronger taste. The tiramisu looks great, was soft, sweet and fluffy as well, but again missing abit of the stronger matcha taste I'm use to. Afternoon tea, Haven't had something like this for afternoon tea since I was in highschool. Here we have Hong Kong style milk tea and a egg amd corm beef sandwich. Sandwich was freshly made, wish I could say the same for the milktea. Simple and keeps the nibbles away. @ Sun Ming 145-149 Church Street Parramatta. Lunch with Family, One perk as a teacher, school holidays are a great time to catch up with family. Today we had lunch @ Phoenix in Parramatta. Yum cha is best in a group this way you get to try all the options coming around in the carts. Protip: try to make sure the food is fresh, try not to order if it's the last on the trolley wait for the refills. You can really tell the different in taste. Phoenix Parramatta 159-175 Church St Parramatta Kai-rating: 3.5 (not bad, just had better) Here we have a large range of options. Pic1: beef tripe, stuffed eggplants and phoenix claws (chicken feet) Pic2: water chestnut, radish and taro cakes Pic3. Prawns in rice noodle. Pic4: prawn dumplings and bbq pork buns Pic5: fried rice noodle with huisin and peanut sauce Pic6: vegies Pic7: sesame prawnrolls Pic8: suimai (pork dumplings of sorts) Pic9: salt water dumplings (more savoury dumplings with pork)

Dinner time! Been a while since I had it so made an okonomiyaki. Osakan Street food, sometimes known as Japanese pizza. Make from cabbage and anything you want! Tonights okonomiyaki included soba and pork belly. And you can never go wrong with extra Mayo and the okonomiyaki sauce! The side dish is just chilled silken tofu, sadly I was missing the toppings for it, needed spring onions or some ginger. But iced tea goes with everything! Hope everyone is having a good night!

Lunch time! It's good when you get to follow your stomach to find the lunch you want. Some reason I was just craving bimbimbab today, so I ended up in Strathfield for lunch. Here is the lunch special, egg and beef bimbimbab in stone pot from Won Jo in Strathfield. Like all other Korean restraunts you get a myriad of side dishes with your order. Nice pickles, potato salad and of course Kimchi. There's a joy in peeping the bimbimbab to eat, adding the sauce and mixing it all together~ somewhat therapeutic, for me anyhow haha. Food was good, but it's what you'd expect the bimbimbab to be. With the pricing of $12.50 + free side dishes its an offer too good to pass up! Won Jo 33A The Boulevarde, Strathfield.

Dinner last night @ The Silk Road Uyghur Restraunt 190 Liverpool Rd Ashfield. Always loved the Polo Rice, simple yet satisfying dish. Rice cooked with stock, carrots and mutton. Can eat it allll day~ Had a side dish of Fried Sheep Kidneys, not for everyone but I quite enjoy the taste. I do recommend giving everything a try atleast once. Aryan, that's the traditional yoghurt drink they make. To describe the flavour I would say... A slightly bubbly Yakult. Prices are fair for good portion sizes, I would recommend going with a group to be able to try all their options. They also do roast lamb legs and entire lambs if you book early enough hahaha. What to do when the day is 32 degrees? Korean cold noodles! Great food when it's hot and you don't want to cook. Easy to eat and the sourness increases your appetite. This particular cold noodles is from The Mandoo 12A The Boulevard, Strathfield. This was their spicy cold noodle soup. While not that spicy (which I personally prefer) but I'm sure they'll make it as hot as you need. Kai-rating: 4.5/5

Dinner out since I was picking up stuff from my parents. Visited an old haunt Ambi's 138 Pendle Way, Pendle Hill. Had their Mango chicken, garlic naan and mango lassie. Can never go wrong with a mango lassie. But maybe it was the nostalgia but the curry just didn't live up to what I remembered it to be. Still good but I think it is to be better. That naan was still good and still a decent feed, but a tad pricey for me these days with the curry @ 15.50 with out the drink or the naan. Kai-rating: in my memory 4.5/5 Reality 3.5/5 #food #Indian #localeats #sydney

Winding down a long day with a bowl of beef noodle soup. Eating at Xinjiang noodle house 205 Liverpool Rd, Ashfield. One of my favourite local eats. The noodles here are hand made, soups always light but flavourful. They also have a range of fried and chopped noodles, always good for something different. Xinjiang in China is populated by the ethnic Turkic Uyghur people, mainly Muslims so the food here is generally halal and uses mainly lamb or beef as their meat. Back to the noodles, the bowl in the picture was only $9.80. Hard to find food these days sub $10. Kai-rating: 5/5 #food #localeats #cheap #noodles

Excelsior Jones, Had their Ribwich and strawberry milkshake. The Cafe had a nice setting and was quite ideal for nice relaxing Sunday lunch. The Ribwich was very good, however the chip were normal. While crunchy were abit cool by the time they came out. Strawberry milkshake was very nice. Kai-rating: 4/5 (at Excelsior Jones)

What do you do after having a hard day at work? Well I don’t know what you do, but Kai goes to roast some meat.  Hitting up one of my all time favorite restaurants in Sydney, Wakana.
1/2A Broughton Rd, Artarmon NSW 2064 From each row left to right,  Creme Croquettes, basically Japanese style hash browns.  The Wakana Salad Negi Shio Tongue (This is Cow Tongue with a salt and Japanese leek paste) Karubi (A nice fatty cut of Japanese meat) Now the cooking, for Waygu beef you get at Japanese BBQ places or Waygu in general it is important to cook them Medium-Rare to Medium, this appears to go against how most people like their steaks, usually Rare to Medium-Rare.  The reasoning here is the composition of the meat. Wagyu has a much higher fat content this requires longer cooking to allow the fat to melt and add flavour and juiciness to the meat. Undercooking Wagyu means you will eat unmelted fat, this would give a similar texture as a stick of butter.  Oh whats that in the bottom corner? The shop owner calls it medicine for after work, other people call it Sake (Japanese Rice Wine) For anyone interested in this restaurant, the owners going on Holidays and the shop will be closed from 8th April until May.
Kai-Rating: 4.5/5 PS: They also have the best Japanese Curry in Sydney however wasn’t in the mood for it today, will do another post for it another day.  Curry Rating: 11/10  < Actually True

Linner or Dinch?  When Kai has a busy day at work and doesn’t have lunch, but its too early for dinner~ Eating out at my favorite local dumpling restaurant of New Shanghai.  Soy Bean Milk with Shao Long Bao (Steam pork bao) followed by a row of Pot Stickers. Wish I could make those stickers at home.... but mine stick to the pot and not each other.... I like the food here and the value for their dumplings are nice, however their other dishes are usually a tad pricier and service isn’t the best when they get overly busy.  Kai-Rating: 4 271/273 Liverpool Rd, Ashfield NSW 2131
