All doubt and confusion finally ended when they revealed the true purpose of the two signs which means “YES to LIFE…NO to KILLING”.
The campaign was inspired from the book of Matthew 5:44 in the bible, “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
The advocacy was related to the immoderate killing of people that is currently exercised in the country.
Many people, including the students of Holy Angel University who are currently taking up CLE 4, joined the campaign in front of the church to show their disapproval on the excessive killing of people (i.e. extra judicial killing) and also to show their support to life.

Alvarez cracked the whip earlier, and warned the member of the anti-death penalty majority and committee chairs that their position is risked should they oppose to revive death penalty.

NPA Accepts All-Out War Against Government
by Maria Amelia Murla
ANGELESCITY - The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) slammed President Rodrigo Duterte for "arbitrarily terminating" the formal peace negotiations last Sunday. It is said the New People's Army is "ever ready to face the all-out war" threatened by the government.
The CPP said Duterte had "gone berserk" and wasted the achievements attained in peace talks over the past few months.
The group described the President as a "double-speaking thug who only recognizes his own rules."
They reiterated on their statement to the press that the revolutionary forces will not accept pacification or surrender especially to a "charlatan who does not know the true meaning of just and lasting peace."
The two sides failed to reach an agreement on the communists' demand to free about 400 rebel leaders, the same issue that jeopardized the peace talks during the previous administration.

DUTERTE NIXES CLAMOR TO FREE POLITICAL PRISONERS
by Marian Murla
ANGELES CITY – Duterte on Sunday said he has rejected the request of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) to release more than 400 jailed political prisoners as part of the confidence-building measures in the peace negotiations between the communists and the government.
On many talks in the past, the president insisted that he cannot grant the demand of the communist rebel because this will compromise the integrity of the government.
The President, however, said he was ready to free sickly convicts and those who are 70 years old and above.
“There’s really no point in detaining a person who are old and sickly. It’s a very awkward feeling. I’m uncomfortable with that,” said Duterte to reporters during his visit on February 6 in Davao City.
Meanwhile, the government has lifted ceasefire due to hostilities and ungranted demands of the communist group.

by Joana Rose Coronel
ANGELES CITY – The Alliance of Yokohama Employees (AYE) and Alliance of Yokohama Supervisors (AYS) expressed their support to the workers during their first joint general assembly at the Bayanihan Park Salakot area last February 1.
Despite the YTPI’s effort against the assembly, almost 1000 workers joined the assembly to receive updates and plans of the organizations, the AYE and AYS stated.
The two labor unions guaranteed the workers of their continuous effort with regard to the issue.
Atty. Arnel Z. Dolendo, national president of the Philippine Trade and General Workers Organization (PTGWO), also advised the workers to further exercise their rights.
According to him, as pillars of the company, workers should be treated well.
YTPI Vice President – Juanito C. Arona was questioned regarding their disapproval of holding the assembly inside the manufacturing plant.
Roel B. Padilla, president of AYE, said that the decision is “personal and not objectively driven.” After a discussion between the union workers and YTPI management were uploaded in media days before the activity.
He stated that at first the management permitted the two worker unions to gather inside the company, but withdrew their approval because the officers open their communications to the media.
“Parang pinersonal nila ‘yung mga ginawa namin. Hindi naman kami ang pinagdamutan nila, kung hindi ang mga manggagawa ng kumpanya,” he added.
