Rip to Klokateer #47914 but at least his death indirectly revealed that there's a bunch of Deaddy Bears in Skwisgaar's room. Of a variety of colors too!

This piece of lore fascinates me to no end because either:

A. Toki has left them there on his countless visits to Skwisgaar's room.

Either forgotten or planted them there strategically so he can have a friend to cuddle on his next visit. Because, if there's something we take away from Prankklok, is that Toki feels very comfortable in Skwisgaar's room. He's probably hanging in there there often.

B. Skwisgaar keeps a few Deaddy Bears in his room to cheer up or bribe Toki depending on the mood.

We know Skwisgaar isn't exactly the best at communication so maybe when Toki is sad he can wordlessly toss him a Deaddy Bear and hope it helps. Or, in his quest for trying to get Toki to practice again, he commissions/collects Deaddy Bears to encourage Toki to play guitar, saying he can earn a new version of his stuffed friend if he does.

Either way, it's absolutely amazing.

Toki Jackoff AU 【 METALOCALYPSE 】

A/N: I had to take a small break from the sketch request to draw my own thing bcs I was feeling a bit under the weather and sick so I drew something to treat myself to an au idea I came up on the go pretty much. Basically in this au Toki arrived too late for the audition, actually too late doors closed and band gone so they never got to hear him play the sick duel with Skwisgaar, so he basically had his dreams crushed by himself and got a regular jackoff job, got an apartment and now lives with his four kittens that always brings him joy after his long shifts of work. Of course he’s still a Detklok fan and has a bunch of posters, mostly from Skwisgaar, no matter what he’s forever a fan of the blondie. I’m still working on a couple more details but this is what I have so far, I plan on posting more about this raw idea in the future but I hope you guys are interested!

Also the design of Toki was based off this unused art from the show, I just loved it so much, he’s so silly and cute with that underwear :)

Role reversal: before & after The Duel

Noticed a little something while thinking of DSR so of course I'm making a post about it.

So, we're right at the end of Some Time Ago, when Toki arrives. He's late for the auditions and he knows it but he asks for a chance regardless. He's convinced that it was fated for all of them to be together and he wants to prove it.

Nathan, Pickles and Murderface don't seem to be too impressed. They just watched their lead guitarist destroy a bunch of people that attempted to join their band, it's clear they don't think this guy will be any different.

Meanwhile, Skwisgaar isn't even directly portrayed. He's merely a dark silhouette in the back, representing both his unavailability and the apparent gap there seems to be between him and Toki.

Regardless, Skwisgaar decides to humor him, maybe out of pity or maybe as the last effort to assert himself as the only guitarist Dethklok needs. Snd that's how the Duel starts, which I've also analyzed in case you're interested…

Anyhow, Toki gets nervous and loses, not even willing to contest his defeat. As he vacates the premises, the band agrees that it's over, regardless of how well he did.

It's only when Toki is outside that Skwisgaar finally intervenes. And, instead of reaffirming his place as Dethklok's sole guitarist once again, he does the opposite. He offers Toki a place in the band.

So, you see, when Toki asks for an audition, he has this utter conviction that he's meant to be part of the band, despite having only just met these people. There's no foundation for this belief, just a feeling he has, just the electricity he's sensing in the air. Nobody else seems to share that vision.

It's interesting, in a way, because one could theorize that because of his religious (cult-like?) upbringing, Toki is familiar with this kind of blind faith. That some things are meant to be and that things happen for a reason. And that maybe he feels like everything he's gone through was leading him to this one, crucial moment.

When Toki's audition finishes, they all agree, including Toki, that he lost his chance at being part of this dream. Despite having witnessed how well Toki plays, Nathan, Pickles and Murderface fail to see that It component that Toki possesses, that's exactly what Dethklok needs to truly rise to stardom. And Toki feels like he failed, so he's walking away in shame.

But Skwisgaar sees it. Ignoring everyone else's pessimism, he's glimpsed it. The potential, the greatness, the new heights that Toki will bring to him (and Dethklok) if he comes along. And so, Skwisgaar wants him to join them to fulfill that vision.

And dare I say how, despite the whole band being there, it's really up to just them? When Toki begs for a chance he bows, and it seems like he's requesting the whole band to hear him out, but really he's bowing to Skwisgaar alone.

Similarly, Skwisgaar waits for Toki to be outside to give his verdict. Over the course of the show Skwisgaar shows to be very agreeable with what Nathan (or Pickles) decide, but here his decision is final. He needs to make no consultation before inviting Toki to the band and he also only cares about Toki hearing it, too.

Not to mention the Duel is, in addition to being musically exclusive between them, it is also visually. Nathan, Pickles and Murderface disappear as Skwisgaar and Toki overtake the skies in mythical forms. They’re simultaneously putting on a show while also sharing an intimate moment.

Like that, Toki and Skwisgaar essentially switch places in here. Toki, as a naive boy that thinks destiny wanted to put him in Dethklok's path. Skwisgaar, a knowledgeable musician that, through the evidence of Toki's playing, comprehends that Toki needs to be part of Dethklok's story.

They take turns in having the same belief: they should be together. Regardless of what the rest thinks, they're convinced of that, in their own respective moments. Whether is hope or wisdom, they know this union was fated to be.

Toki starts the idea and Skwisgaar finishes it. And, to me, that’s what being soulmates is all about.

While on him I really wanna ask like, what do you think they really were up to when they hung out? I personally want to believe Toki got to mess around with him and nearly got himself killed in many instances but at least Magnus exerted self control most times
