every time a magical girl fan hates madoka magica because it’s somehow just another “edgy” magical girl anime and somehow killed the entire light-hearted magical girl anime genre an angel loses its wings and a pretty cure, sailor moon and revolutionary girl utena character lose a braincell

This morning there was a nation-wide text spam campaign targeting Black Americans (largely students) telling them that they’ve been selected to pick cotton and will be picked up to be sent to a plantation after Trump’s inauguration.
People online are making jokes about it, but it’s genuinely a disturbing sign. Someone was emboldened enough to intentionally run a background on thousands of young Black people and send them racist messages the day after a very exhausting and stressful election.

I am never gonna forget how in the magia record anime sayaka got her arm blown off before quickly regenerating it like it was nothing but a scratch in trying to defend two random magical girls she did not know shit about (iroha and yachiyo) from a giant bullet that exploded into a mushroom cloud shot by her former mentor gone crazy (mami) in a gun that shattered the moment it was fired due to the sheer power of the bullet.
look, the magia record anime might have gotten a lot of things wrong but it certainly did do well in giving sayaka all the credit she rightfully deserved

"Alive but Forgotten"
We live today in a world of silence, a heavy silence that is slowly killing us. I see my younger siblings, their ages ranging from 3 to 7 years old, passing by with innocent eyes filled with questions I cannot answer. They hide behind me when they see a stranger, afraid of the unknown. My mother, who suffers from chronic illnesses, cannot even stand without help. She has not found anyone to extend a hand, and each time her condition worsens, I feel helpless.
My father, who was once a symbol of strength, is now a shadow of a man, broken and unable to bear the burdens after losing everything. He worked his whole life to provide us with a decent life, but today, we have nothing but rubble and the camps we move between, with memories that grow darker each day.
What I ask for is not money, nor material help, but something simpler. I just want someone to feel our existence, to remember us with even a word, a small gesture that revives hope in us that we are still a part of this world. Our messages are met with silence, as if we no longer exist, as if we are no longer part of life.
Every day, we live in the shadow of devastation, inside a room in a school that has turned into a shelter, its walls insufficient to provide privacy and fresh air to breathe life into us. We now share this space with other families, each carrying their own pain and worries. As for the children, they do not know what it means to have a home, nor do they understand what loss is. Whenever they look at my mother, they run to her, asking her to tell them a story about the future, not realizing that all my mother has left to tell them is sorrow.
Friends, our pain is not in the loss of things, but in the loss of existence, in becoming unheard. Sometimes, I stop to wonder: Are we still alive? Are we still part of this world? Our messages are met with silence, and our dreams have faded along with the ruins of the homes that no longer exist.
I no longer ask for anything except for someone to feel our presence, to ask about us, to remember us, even with a word. If our words touch your hearts, all we need is for you to share with us, to show the world that we are still here.
We ask for nothing except for you to raise our voices, to bring hope back to us, and to be a part of our story that we are trying to write with our trembling hands and souls still holding on to a thread of hope.
Sharing this story could be the difference between life and death for us.
If you help spread our story, you will be giving us hope to survive, hope for life amidst all this destruction. We’re not asking for more than to be remembered, to be reminded that we’re still here.

Support My Family Journey to Safety and Peace
🚨Urgent Appeal 🚨
My name is Jaber Al-Haj. I am from Gaza, married to my wife, Menna, and we have a little son named Hashim, who is less than two years old. Like any Palestinian family, we dreamed of a simple and stable life. But the recent war turned our lives upside down. The sounds of explosions never left us, and fear has become part of our daily existence. My son Hashim suffers from health problems that urgently require treatment, but the war has destroyed everything, including the healthcare system, making access to necessary medical care nearly impossible. With each passing day, our suffering deepens, and the fear for Hashim’s health and future consumes me.
Alongside my small family, I used to work with my brothers, Aboud and Bilal, on our joint project—a small lab for producing essential household cleaning products. We started this project with modest resources, dreaming that it would become a source of income to support us and provide job opportunities for our community. But the war left us with nothing. Our lab, which was once filled with life and hard work, was reduced to rubble under the bombardment. We lost our equipment, our livelihood, and with it, a part of our dreams for the future.
Even our home, our only refuge, did not escape the destruction. It was severely damaged and is now uninhabitable. We were forced to flee and live in a tent under harsh conditions unfit for human life. The cold, the heat, the lack of resources, and the absence of privacy have made life nearly unbearable. We try to cope, but every day brings new challenges and suffering.
Today, what worries me the most is my son Hashim's condition. His health is deteriorating, and he desperately needs treatment abroad. However, under the circumstances we’re living in, I lack the means to secure his travel and medical expenses. As a father, there is nothing more heartbreaking than watching my child suffer while being unable to help him.
This campaign is a lifeline for my family in our darkest hour. With your generosity, we can bring hope back into our lives and secure a better future for my son, Hashim. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a world of difference.

Thank you for standing with us and helping us through this difficult time. Your kindness means more than words can express.
With heartfelt gratitude, Jaber AlHaj

🚨 !! DONT SKIP !! donations urgently needed 🚨
✅ Verified campaign – please check the end of the story 🔍📌
I'm Anas Basil, a recent high school graduate with dreams of pursuing a degree in e-business management and building a career. However, due to my family's financial hardships, I enrolled at Khan Younis Training College (KYTC), affiliated with UNRWA. Sadly, the war has turned the college, once a beacon of hope and education, into a shelter for displaced families, stripping it of its educational purpose.
I completed high school with a 93% average, filled with excitement about continuing my education and securing a job to support my family. But like so many others, the war has shattered those dreams.
My younger brother, Ahmad, is 14 years old and currently in the third grade of preparatory school. We’ve always called him "Doctor of the Future" because of his intelligence and natural talent in mathematics. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing war, he has been deprived of schooling for the second consecutive year. In addition to his academic abilities, Ahmad has a passion for football and used to win tournaments.
Our Life in Displacement: The war forced our family to flee to Rafah, where we lived in a tent for several months. Each day, my brother and I would wake up to fetch water, gather wood, and light a fire to prepare food. Survival became our daily task, but we never gave up hope. The conflict affected us deeply, but it did not extinguish our dreams of education and a better future.
🚀 How Your Donation will Help us:
We are seeking €29,000 to help Ahmed and me leave Gaza, continue our education. More importantly, it will allow us to support our family, who have been deeply affected by the harsh conditions and skyrocketing costs of living due to the ongoing war in Gaza.
We've outlined how your donations will make this possible. You can find all the details in the campaign link below.
👉 Donation link: 🔗https://gofund.me/32e5e95e
Your contribution will not only help us escape the war-torn reality we live in but also give us the opportunity to rebuild our futures.
Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to our goal.
With deepest gratitude, Anas & Ahmed

Please help Monis' family!
Rabah has asked me to attach this message from him:
I will keep this short since I think more people will read it in full if I do. I am making this post on behalf of Rabah to highlight the fundraiser campaign raising money for medical treatment for his father Monis, who has cancer and needs medication, medical exams, and radiotherapy urgently (more info here on Rabah's blog). These funds will first and foremost go to Monis' treatment, and also to buying food, shelter, and supplies for the winter. If you are able to donate, please do. This fundraiser was reblogged by @90-ghost.
Please help them!
