kim    frowns.    she'd    never    been    in    a    relationship    where    she'd    missed    the    other    person    once    they'd    broken    up.    she    didn't    really    know    what    that    felt    like.    her    short-lived    romances    had    always    been    ones    that,    when    they    ended,    she'd    never    wanted    to    see    the    guy    again.    ❝    if    you    miss    her,    why    don't    you    just    call    her?    she    probably    misses    you,    too.    ❞    she's    not    sure    what    she's    supposed    to    say    to    that,    but    if    he's    missing    his    ex    as    much    as    he    seems,    a    call    couldn't    hurt,    right?    she    blushes    at    the    compliment,    but    shakes    her    head,    hair    cascading    down    her    back    like    a    molten    waterfall.    ❝    ron    had    a    naco    emergency.    i    didn't    ask.    ❞    she    says,    waving    a    hand.

he should be here with nini. that's all he could think about as he made his way around the dance. he'd danced with a girl from his ap psych class, he'd gotten some of the punch that he's pretty sure wasn't actually spiked like big red claimed it was, and he'd seen kim standing alone. so he may have taken it upon himself to come see her. maybe he could offer some company.     ❝     i don't think ditched is quite the right word... more like not over my ex girlfriend and couldn't bring myself to ask someone else...     ❞     he sighs, running a hand through his hair.    ❝     sorry to hear about you getting ditched though- that sucks. pretty, confident girl like you it's kinda crazy you ended up by yourself here.     ❞

she    settles    in    next    to    him,    head    resting    on    his    shoulder,    as    they    wind    down    from    a    long    day    of    saving    the    world.    ❝    didn't    anyone    ever    tell    drakken    that    it's    not    polite    to    interrupt    dinner    with    evil    schemes?    ❞    she    asks,    sighing    dramatically.    she    was    exhausted    and    she    could    only    imagine    that    ron    was,    too.    this    saving    the    world    thing    was    hard    work.    sometimes    she    wondered    why    she    kept    doing    it    —    and    then    she    remembered    that    she    loved    helping    people.
