Made a list of verbs to do with water and used Indian ink and different tools to make responses to the words.

We scanned the pieces we made on Monday with the letter press and experimented with them in photoshop.

We tried letterpress using the words from my concept. I experimented with different size letters and placement and how heavily I pressed the ink down, also used paper cut outs to create a wave effect on the word flow.

Today we looked at typography, I picked words that represented my concept and sketched out and used different type to show the words. I also tried collaging different fonts to represent the words for my concept

Jessica Walsh is an American designer, art director, illustrator and educator. I liked her use of lines and colour. The psychedelic look to some of her work creates the illusion of movement in the photos.

For the second time round we were able to use more shapes to make visuals for the words. I then used the boxes to create thumbnails using my own words that related more to my project.

We used black squares cut out of paper to make designs for the words we were given, it was quite restrictive trying to convey the words with just one shape and colour.

Matthew Cusick

Matthew Cusick is a multimedia artist who works with collage, painting and map art. He is best know for his map collages of landscapes and portraits.

His work I’m most interested in is his collages of waves using only cutouts of maps, I like the movement and texture the different colours from the maps give the waves.
