Time for some walk cycle analysis.
Here we see a mother in her natural environment, the back yard. Observe how she walks, her arms move forward as she strides but they stop straight on the backswing instead of following on in a pendulum motion. She also puts her forward fut ahead of herself diagonally, causing her to sway more than normal as she walks.

Our animation class had an outing to Fota where we were told to draw some of the animals there as we go about our day. Here's the sketches I've done.

Another thing we did this week was mess about with creating symbols with separate animations that overlap. In this example, I made a pentagon that had a path mapped in the main animation but I turned the shape into a symbol and made a tween of it rotating and changing shape. The final result is the two overlapping and playing at the same time.

This week, my class and I tried out hand at lipsyncing audio in Animate. We were given a pre-made set of mouths to map to different sounds from audio clips we could find on the internet and had to make sure the system matched the sounds properly.

A few weeks ago, our class were given the task of selecting an image and selectively erasing it piece by piece to reverse the footage. This gave the effect of the image looking like it was being drawn in a time-lapse. I took a particularly detailed image for mine. I also succeeded where the Inquisition failed, I erased the last Celestial Lion on Armageddon.

A follow up from the post before. I have successfully dissected the poster image, backfilled a lot of the background and slapped it together in Adobe Animate using motion tweens.

This is my piece based on the theme “Movement” in which I interoperated as the movement of the body from pose to pose, stance to stance and from there, sword stance to sword stance. With all the lever action in the arms, the sword moves about frequently and can make interesting back and forths between you and your opponent.

For my artist research I decided I'd write on 2 artists that inspire me with their subject matter, visual styles and motivate me to pick animation as my course of study. Karl Kopinski and Yutaka Nakamura.

These are some of the animation tasks we have received throughout the weeks. One of our tasks was to take a scene from an existing piece of media and to make a storyboard of said scene. I chose to do mine from a scene from Arcane of Vi and Jayce arguing and nearly coming to blows.
One of our other tasks was to write a paragraph and storyboard a scene based on that paragraph, then design a character for that scene. So here's Zack.

Our project theme this semester is "Motion". I've decided that I'd do my project on sword play since it has a lot of movement and is something I'm very interested in.
