From the video Sylvia made of some artist we may like, I really took a liking to Amy Sillman. Amy Sillman is a New York based artist, known for process-based paintings that move between abstraction and figuration, and engage nontraditional media including animation, zines and installation.
Amy was born in 1955, Michigan, in the Us. I enjoy her work as it abstract, the way she uses her materials, radical shifts in palette, brushwork, scale. Her quality of work is playful, colourful. I feel like her paintings tell short stories, if you really engage in the brushstrokes, colours etc. Looking forward to looking into Sillman more!

Katherine Plumb;
Katherine Plumb is a Swedish printer, she has an abstract style which caught my eye while browsing online. I followed her on Instagram and quickly fell in love with her art! Her work resonated with my project as I felt my prints had a similar style.

Another form of human imprint- Newgrange!
Newgrange is a 5,200 year old passage tomb located in the Boyne Valley in Ireland's Ancient East. It was was built by Stone Age farmers, the mound is 85m (279ft) in diameter and 13m (43ft) high, an area of about 1 acre. A passage measuring 19m (62ft) leads into a chamber with 3 alcoves. The passage and chamber are aligned with the rising sun on the mornings around the Winter Solstice. It is surrounded by 97 large stones called kerbstones some of which are engraved with megalithic art; the most striking is the entrance stone.

Found this interesting in a pub, the owner collected bits and bobs and created this sort of display. I feel it could be a way of leaving an imprint as the pub could be passed down or sold, but the display may still remain. This could teach a future generation what was around before and now!
