“ mhm , amazing . better than any food i’m used to . i survive off cheap takeout and scraps , so i’ve never eaten better than right now . i’m not even onto the mains yet . and y’know what , i’ll take some of that bubbly if it’s goin’ . “ the two looked rather strange in the middle of ceremony but woody was there , and he would’ve never forgiven himself if he hadn’t dragged himself to the event even though he felt horribly out of place . a tattooed hand took hold of kieran’s , walking to the dance floor and shimmying his body in his own attempt at a move . “ you might need to teach me how , “
“You’ll have to come over for dinner more often then when we get back. Tereik is a surprisingly good cook.” Kieran didn’t care that he wasn’t dressed for the part or that he stuck out compared to the other guests, she was just happy to have him there. “Go wild, there’s an entire bar there,” she chuckled. “Just promise me you won’t puke in the venue. If we weren’t leaving right away I’d be taking shots.” Leading him onto the dance floor, Kieran kept Woody’s hand in hers. “Here,” she smiled, placing her other hand on his shoulder. “It’s really easy, just lead me, one-two-three, one-two-three.”

t-aldamiri:
Tereik remembered coming to this market when he was young, his parents loved all seven of their children, but he’d been pretty special to them as their youngest child and their only son. If you added his very precarious health at the time into the mix, he probably got more attention than even his oldest sister when she was young. His parents or grandparents would take him here to people watch and keep him entertained with all the different stalls, and he was thrilled that he and Kieran were in the same place with their daughter. The only other thing he wanted was for his father to still be alive and to see their family and get to know his granddaughter.
Smiling, he nodded at her, “Look at you, your Arabic is getting so much better!” Stepping up to the cart, Tereik set Itani on the ground in front of the toys and let her take in the sight. “Pick whatever you want,” Tereik said, when the two year old looked back at them, clearly not believing that she was actually going to be able to take something home. He gave Kieran a quick kiss, “Why don’t you help her pick something? You two should have your moment now.”
She’d been to a few markets in Cairo, but this one felt special. Maybe it was because she was with her little family, but everything felt brighter and more alive than it had in the past. It reminded her of the markets in New York, only bigger and with more people. Looking around at the other families, Kieran couldn’t wait to introduce Itani to her parents and siblings. The little girl would be so surrounded by love. “I’ve been practicing,” she chuckled, kissing him back. Reaching for her daughter, she took her in her arms, inhaling her sweet scent for a moment, then moving towards the toys. “'arnab?” Kieran picked up a stuffed bunny and held it out to Itani, making it dance a little. “Bunny?” she said in English, already picking up the habit. “Or jaru kalib? Puppy dog?” she picked up the other toy.

t-aldamiri:
After picking up Itani from the orphanage and dropping all their things at his mother’s home, Tereik had suggest take a walk to the small market near the building. The orphanage they’d adopted her from was a highly regarded one, but the kids didn’t have many possessions and he felt like it was okay for them to spoil her a little, since it was such a special day for all of them. He had Itani in one arm, with Meeko’s leash around his wrist and was holding Kieran’s hand on the other side, it wasn’t a large space, but there were a lot of people milling around and he didn’t want any of them to get separated.
It shocked him to realize how quickly this all felt right. He’d been expecting an adjustment period where he’d need to get used to the idea that he was a parent and that this little girl was his daughter, but the second she walked into the room she was his. She was theirs, and this was better than he ever could have imagined.
They came to a stop in front of a stall with all kinds of stuffed animals and Tereik couldn’t hold back a smile when he saw how the little girl’s eyes lit up. “I think now much be a good time to pick out a new friend for the trip home, what do you think, Mama?” he said, nudging Kieran with his elbow.
@k-s-horowitz
Kieran’s heart was full, fuller than it had been when Tereik proposed, fuller than it was the day they got married. Everything felt so complete and whole with Itani finally in their arms. Walking through the market with her fingers linked between her husband’s, she couldn’t help but smile. The sun was shining, she had her little family, and they were in the country she’d called home for so long. “I think that’s a good idea!” Kieran nodded. Looking at Itani she tried to remember the Arabic phrase for stuffed animal. “Hayawan mahshi?” she managed, then looked to Tereik for confirmation. Seeing him with their daughter was surreal, how quickly he’d fallen into the father role and how easily Itani had accepted him. She could only hope that as her Arabic improved and Itani got a grasp of English they’d grow closer. But even with the barrier Kieran was completely in love with the little girl.

if they hadn’t known who woody was they’d have assumed he was an intruder , someone that had broken into the crowd to steal some wedding cake and the expensive decorations , but he was somebody that wouldn’t miss this wedding for the world . his attire wasn’t exactly a suit or anything close to formal but as least he’d shown up to support two people that had provided a roof over his head in the darker times , never giving up even when things seemed bleak . “ mhm . i’ve stuffed myself full of those fancy little olives , think you’re gonna have to roll me home . have you had a chance to try everything , too ?? “
Kieran was beyond pleased to have Woody there. He was an honourary part of their family and she would have missed him had he decided not to come. “Are they good? I haven’t tried them yet. I’ve been mostly sticking to the bubbly, though I did have the cake that Tereik fed me. I really should get over to the food before it’s gone,” she chuckled. “But first, you must dance with the bride!”

“Aren’t you excited?” Tony asked with a chuckle. “Yeah, I am actually. Thanks for the invite. I have to admit, weddings aren’t usually my scene but this one wasn’t so bad. You guys even kept most of your audience awake during the vows.” He smiled. “I did, thanks. How about you? You doing good?”
“I am. And I’m glad you could make it!” Kieran grinned, taking a sip from her glass. “Oh the speeches, yeah I made sure it was nice and sweet so we didn’t have any dozers.” The pair had done their official wedding a few weeks prior when they’d shared their real vows, the speeches were just little summaries. “I’m great! I’ve never been better. I’m living off of champagne right now, but I’ll get some food eventually.”

Will smiled at the girl before nodding. “Hey, , of course. I wouldn’t miss it, and I am so happy for you.” He told her before nodding. “I did, and I am. It’s not as bad as I thought it would be. Not saying that your wedding would be bad, of course. I just wasn’t really a happy person, but this thing has turned it around. Plus, how can you be sad at a wedding, right?”
“I’m glad! We wanted it to be a fun time. It helps that you didn’t have to sit through a ceremony,” Kieran smiled. The pair had chosen to get married earlier in New York so her family could be there. “I mean I’m sure someone could be sad, but I sure can’t be, surrounded by all these flowers and music. This is like my personal heaven right now,” she chuckled.

“You’re oh so welcome!” Alexis said with huge smile. She had to come to the wedding reception-she wouldn’t miss it for the world. “I’m having a great time,” she assured her. “And I haven’t ate anything yet, but I’m going to soon.” she assured her with a smile.
“Oh you definitely have to get some of the food!” Kieran urged her. “It’s amazing. And the lavender lemonade is my favourite, though I’ve been drinking champagne most of the night,” she giggled. “We also have cotton candy, and some snacks on the table over there. I hope it all gets eaten because we leave on Monday so it would just go to waste.”

“Oh my gosh no, thank you for inviting me, so lovely to witness your love, babe” Korra hugged Kieran back, she was so happy for her friend and seeing her so happy and exited made her smile brighter. The young woman took Keiran by both hands after pulling back, “Look at you you look amazing! And the evening has been magical, how long have you been planning this?¨
“Oh thank you. I know it’s cliche but I’ve never been so in love.” Hugging her tight, Kieran couldn’t stop grinning. “Oh this old thing?” she laughed. “I’m so happy I got to wear it twice, I love this dress so much. Honestly, we really only had a month or two to plan. We got lucky with Tereik working here and were able to score this date. The rest was just a lot of Pinterest and calling around. I’m so happy with the way it turned out though.”

there were certain festivities that mariella couldn’t really partake in and getting drunk was one of them , but she was holding a glass of orange juice and had broken away from her own husband to go and speak to some of the other faces at the reception . hearing the excitable voice of the bride herself she turned and let out her own little squeal , nodding , reaching one arm out to wrap around the girl in front of her . “ i think i’ve single-handedly cleaned you out of snacks . i’m having a great time , i can’t believe you guys have finally made things official . congratulations , angel . this is huge , “
Hugging Mari, Kieran continued to grin. She was beyond happy to hear that she was having a good time. All Kieran had wanted for the event was for people to enjoy themselves. Sure it looked pretty, catalogue worthy really, but that meant nothing if she wasn’t surrounded by her friends. “Oh good!” she nodded. “I’m sure they’ll be bringing out more, I requested all the snacks. I know! It feels so surreal. Thank you! You look great by the way, is it cliche if I say you’re glowing? I don’t think I looked nearly that good when I was pregnant,” she laughed.

Tereik hadn’t been as involved with the planning of the reception as he would have liked, but Kieran had doing such an amazing job of putting it all together, and he’d been busy organizing their trip to Egypt, so things were going great. They would pick her up on Monday, spend the night at his childhood home where his mother was living and then fly back the next day with Itani and start the process of getting her used to her new home and her new family. There was likely going to be a lot of work involved between the language barrier, though Tereik was a native Arabic speaker, he’d likely have to act as a translator between her and Kieran for a while, and the time change would be brutal on a two year old, plus they were strangers to her, taking her to a place she’d never seen before. It was going to be a struggle at first, but he wasn’t worried about it, he knew it was going to be wonderful.
He pulled her in closer for a hug and then leaned down to kiss her, not bothering to make any kind of a move toward the statues he mentioned earlier. This was their party and they were going to make out in the middle of it if they wanted to. “You’ve been a hard woman to pin down yourself. You did an amazing job putting this all together, are you happy?”
Kieran hadn’t realized how much she loved event planning until it came to their wedding. Every detail brought her joy and with the help of the staff at Swan House she was able to put together something she was very proud of and everyone seemed to be enjoying. With their trip to pick up Itani only days away, the excitement was building. Kieran had been working on her Arabic, having learned a fair amount while travelling and living in Cairo but needing to freshen her skills. She was grateful Tereik would be there to help her along the way. It was going to be quite the adjustment at first, but she was confident that they’d be a happy family sooner than later. Kissing him back, Kieran felt her body melt into his. Normally not one for PDA, she was more than happy to kiss him with the whole world watching. Her hands rest on his lower back and she nuzzled her face into his neck when they broke apart. “Thank you,” she smiled. “I don’t think i’ve ever been so happy. I thought the epitome of happy was our wedding day but knowing we leave in two days and having everyone here, it’s just so much better.”

Kiara gasps the moment she hears her friends voice, covering her mouth as her eyes scan the other up and down contemplating the beautiful bride. “Kieran, you are the most gorgeous bride I’ve ever seen..” She admits, then offering her friend a smile blended in with a giggle. “This place is beautiful and I was telling Teirek earlier on that you must have stolen all my dream wedding ideas, it’s absolutely beautiful!” She comments as she returns the hug. “Thank you, I wanted to look good for your reception but not as good as you, seems like I did a great job!”
Blushing, Kieran pulled her friend into a warm hug. “Thank you!” she giggled. “I can’t wait to show you the pictures from the real wedding. I had flowers in my hair and everything,” she gushed. “Isn’t it amazing? We had a hard time deciding between this and the main space, but I fell in love with the windows. When you get married I give you full permission to steal all of it,” she laughed. “You look awesome. Have you hit the dance floor yet?”

“Thank you so much for coming!” Kieran gushed as she approached her guest. She was drunk, a happy drunk thankfully, and bursting with affection for everyone who had joined them on their day. “Are you having a good time? Did you get enough to eat?” @atlanta-rpgstarters

It was a almost a relief to tell everyone about Itani. She’d been keeping the secret for weeks and now talking about her made it all seem more real, though Kieran knew it wouldn’t feel really real until they were all home. Beaming the entire night, a constant glass of champagne in her hand, she’d made her way around the party and ended up with her sisters in law and her mother in law, all laughing and chatting at a table. “Hi!” Kieran grinned hugging her back and reaching for Liyana immediately. She was drunk, which only made her need baby snuggles more. “Thank you,” she giggled. “I wish I could wear this dress everyday. I am! Isn’t this amazing? I can’t believe we had such a good turn out,” smiling, she held her niece close, kissing the top of her head.
Kami had been bursting with excitement about the news that she was going to be an aunt again and not telling anyone about the adoption had been maddening, but it was all worth it when she saw how thrilled everyone was when Kieran and Tereik made the announcement to all their friends. She’d never seen either of them happier and she couldn’t have been happier for them, this reception was exactly what they deserved after everything they’d been through, the only thing she wished is that her father had been there to see his son thriving with the love of his life.
When there was a break in the action, Kami took Liyana from Emmett and settled at a table with Kieran, a few of her sisters, and her mother, “Hey you,” she said, giving Kieran a quick hug and sat next to her, “you look amazing, are you having as good of a time as it looks like you are?”

Wedding Speech
Hi everyone, I want to start in the most cliche way possible, by thanking you all for joining us tonight. Though Tereik and I have been married for a few weeks now, we are so grateful to get to celebrate with all our friends. We chose to get married in New York due to my mother’s health conditions and my craving for real pizza and bagels, but we’re greedy and also wanted to make sure we got to celebrate with all of you, so here we are. Truthfully though, I just wanted an excuse to wear this amazing dress for a second time, and get to look at Tereik in his suit for more than one night.
Now for the mushy stuff. Tereik and I met seven or so years ago in Egypt when I was sent to photograph one of his archeological digs. I was out of my element that day, used to being in heavy conflict zones where you spend as much time dodging harm as you do taking photos. But there was a calmness to Tereik’s dig, something I hadn’t realized I’d been missing. I spent about a week following T and his team around, and by the end of it, I was so smitten that I called my boss and asked to extend my trip. Over the next year I spent as much time as I could in Egypt, often flying in for short stays between assignments instead of coming home to America, much to my parents’ dismay. But I was falling in love, I mean who could blame me, look at him. It took a while, but eventually Cairo became my home base, and the next thing I knew I was completely in love with a man whose favourite thing to do is dig up dead bodies. Today I’m still completely in love with him, and he still likes digging up dead bodies, though not as often because in Atlanta it’s not quite the same. I’ve been on a lot of adventures, and visited a lot of places, but this adventure and our home will forever be my favourite. I can’t wait to bring our little girl home and be a parent with you. I love you beyond words, Tereik. And I love all of you who have taken the time to join us. Mazel Tov!

“Are you having fun?” Kieran asked as she approached Kiara with a silly grin on her face. She was a few glasses of champagne in and the night was going so beautifully. “You look great, by the way.” She hugged her friend when she finally reached her. @kiaradmarco

Everything was going so well and Kieran could hardly believe it was really real. The music was good and everyone seemed to be in high spirits. Her conversation with a group of people tapered off and she excused herself, spotting Tereik and feeling her heartbeat a little faster. His arm around her was warm and she grinned. “Oh hell yes I do,” she laughed, wrapping her arms around him. “I’ve been trying to get a moment alone with you all night but you’re so popular.”
It had been official for a little while already, but now that they were in the middle of their reception and they’d finally told everyone about their daughter, it finally felt real. Once all the speeches were finished and everyone was getting into dancing, Tereik had barely even seen Kieran, they were so busy mingling with their friends, families and coworkers, they were swamped. After breaking away from the group of interns he oversaw while he was at work, he saw Kieran splitting off from a group as well and made his way to her, avoiding making eye contact with the huge number of people they’d invited and wrapped an arm around her waist from behind to get her attention and pulled her into a hug.
“Hey,” he whispered in her ear, “this is amazing, but do you want sneak out for a bit and go make out behind one of the statues? I know all the good spots where the security cameras can’t see us.”
