can we all just appreciate the fact that Lucien’s life could literally be falling apart at the seams and this man’s first priority is his clothing?

Gwyn is not the only sa acotar character.
So stop pretending to give a shit.
Nesta, rhys, and lucien are sa survivors to but I don't see you opposing them on having sex.
Just because you hate the ship and the female character you just give out fake concers to avoid the art, which is disgusting.
So stop ruining it for others.

Never seen anybody say Elain needs to redeem herself for being the reason why Nesta went into the Cauldron.
Never seen anybody say Feyre needs to redeem herself for telling Ianthe everything about her sisters.
Never seen anybody say Papa Archeron needs to redeem himself for being a neglectful parent.
Never seen anybody say Rhys needs to redeem himself for what he did for Amarantha.
Never seen anybody say Cassian needs to redeem himself for slaughtering a whole village.
It’s almost as if Nesta will forever be a villain 🤔

inner circle facing years worth of trauma and then being mad at Nesta for living hers
Rhys: selling himself to amarantha to protect his friends and velaris for 50 years
Amren: being trapped in the prison for centuries and away from her people
Mor: literally being thrown into the woods naked and hiding in the closet for 500 years
so really, all of them get to live their deepest darkest realities and being revered for being so strong
meanwhile IC: NESTA YOU CAN EITHER GET OKAY RIGHT NOW, RIGHT THIS SECOND OR WE'RE THROWING YOU TO THE WOLVES
the literal audacity to threaten her, i cannot-

I find it funny when e/riels are like "gwynriels are ridiculous and misogynistic for thinking a woman's ability to give birth is what makes her worthy of a man" because yeah it's a dumb and misogynistic reason but it's crearly a good enough reason for SJM. We're talking about a person who made two women change their anatomy so they could get pregnant, so don't tell me that this is not the kind of shit Sarah would write and then call it true love, 'cause she already did. Acotar is full of problematic, homophobic, biphobic, racist and sexist stuff, but you guys really think PREGNANCY is where she'd draw the line???? the same woman who made feyre's happy ending be her getting pregnant at 20?????? Plsss

Back on my Blodeuwedd / Elain has Goddess Like Powers Theory
(based on SJM’s pinterest tag of Blodeuwedd under Elain and skipping how Lucien and Az easily fit into the retelling this time)
Lucien to Feyre in ACOFAS:
“You will need Tamlin as an ally before the dust has settled. Tread carefully.”
Eris to Nesta while in Spring:
“And though he roams these lands, he does not see or care for the neglect he passes, the lawlessness, the vulnerability. Even his manor has fallen into disrepair, half-eaten by thorns, though rumors fly that he himself destroyed it”
Nesta while in Spring:
“Elain would love this place.”
“But Elain…The Spring Court had been made for someone like her
Blodeuwedd is considered by some to be the Welsh Goddess of Spring bringing warmth and new life, in the form of flowers, after the cold and barrenness of winter.
Nesta tells us Spring has been MADE for someone like Elain. Spring which has fallen into disrepair and neglected by it’s High Lord. Spring which Lucien tells Feyre they will need as an ally. Spring made for someone like Elain who also was tagged under Blodeuwedd by the author. Blodeuwedd who is the Welsh Goddess of Spring bringing "warmth and new life, in the form of flowers”. Flowers desperately needed considering “The pink roses that had once climbed the pale stone walls of the sweeping manor house were nothing but tangled webs of thorns.” New life desperately needed for a neglected court fallen into disrepair.
“Her gaze shifted to the carved wooden rose she’d placed upon the mantel,” “beside a figurine of a supple-bodied female, her upraised arms clasping a full moon between them. Some sort of primal goddess-perhaps even the Mother herself. Nesta hadn’t let herself dwell on why she’d felt the need to set the ROSE there. Why she hadn’t just thrown it in the drawer.”
Nesta takes the carved rose her father made for Elain and didn’t let herself dwell on why she felt the need to place it next to a figure of the Goddess. Elain is often represented by roses, was tagged under Blodewudd a Goddess of Spring, and we know the Cauldron found her so lovely that it gifted her with powers (plural).
Elain’s scent: “Jasmine and honey:
"Jasmine has long been associated with femininity”
“Because it’s a symbol of feminine power, jasmine is often used to honor goddess figures”
Honey is associated with Spring.
Blodewudd is also turned into an owl at the end of the fairytale. The “stealthy hunting hypothesis” holds that owls fly inaudibly so that prey CAN’T HEAR THEM coming”
Owls are known as SILENT predators of the night, capable of flying just inches from their prey WITHOUT BEING DETECTED.
Mercifully, Elain QUIETLY approached me at breakfast.
Elain was again at my side. I HADN’T HEARD HER steps.
Elain PERCHED SILENTLY on the couch nearby.
Elain spoke from the doorway, having appeared so SILENTLY that they all twisted toward her, “Using me.”
“You came,” Elain said behind her, and Nesta started, NOT HAVING HEARD HER sister approach. She scanned Elain from head to toe, wondering if she’d been taking lessons in STEALTH either from Azriel or the two half-wraiths she called friends.
“Could you have done it? Decided to take a male form?”
“Then why did you pick this body?” Elain asked.Elain asked, “And once you were in this body, you couldn’t change?”
It’s so easy to assume Elain is going to be a spy because she hangs out with the wraiths but I think her moving silently is suggestive that she can shift into an owl form (the power of Spring is shape shifting). It could also be the reason Cassian noted a “tightness” to Elain’s face when she said she headed out early in the morning to “tend to an elderly faerie’s garden”. Because she’s not comfortable with the change’s she’s experiencing, that her body demands of her.
I think the Cauldron has gifted Elain with Goddess like powers that will help her restore the destruction that has befallen Spring, bring life back into it. Lucien warns Feyre that before the dust settles (meaning before the end of the war that is on their horizon), they are going to NEED Spring to be up and running and right now that isn’t happening with Tamlin. Gifted her with the ability to shift into an owl form, a shifter ability that is a marker belonging to the High Lords of the Spring Court.
This is not to say Elain will end up living there forever, but I do think she will be instrumental in restoring it to its former place of beauty and strength.
……………
Lucien is also tied to the Spring lands. As far as we know, he is the last to perform in the Great Rite in Tamlin’s stead and there’s no mention of it being performed since.
Not canon but I am so ready for my Elucien Great Rite scene. I think she’s going to be the one to restore Spring but I think she’s going to need a willing male partner for some of that 😉

In a nutshell, this conversation is everything wrong with ACOTAR:
"You still can barely talk to Nesta," I said. "Yet Elain you can talk to nicely."
"Elain is Elain.”
Which means what, exactly? That Elain should be forgiven for letting her little sister go hunting because she's an oblivious flower girl?
“If you blame one, you have to blame the other.”
“No, I don't. Elain is Elain," he repeated. “Nesta is ... she's Illyrian. I mean that as a compliment, but she's an Illyrian at heart. So there is no excuse for her behavior.”
Yes, Rhys, you do. This is the single greatest thing that pisses me off about SJM: she always has one character who is the scapegoat. In ToG, it was Lorcan. In ACOTAR, it's Nesta. They get blamed for everything, even when other characters should be held equally accountable.
“She more than made up for it this summer, Rhys.”
“I cannot forgive anyone who made you suffer."
Interesting, considering how much Nesta has had to suffer because of Feyre.
"They're my family. You have to forgive Nesta at some point.”
“Should that be my Solstice gift to you?” he murmured. “Forgiving Nesta for letting her fourteen-year-old sister go into those woods?”
Yes, dear 500-year-old male. You should forgive a CHILD for letting another child go hunting. Hate Papa Archeron for letting his DAUGHTER go hunting, but don't hate a child who's 500 years younger than you and has already suffered more than any child should.
Rhys hated Nesta before he even met her because Feyre told him to. Neither Rhys nor Feyre care about what Nesta might have gone through when Feyre was too young to remember. Feyre talks a lot about how Nesta is cold, but she never stops to ponder why. She talks a lot about how Nesta doesn't like being touched, but isn't the least bit curious as to why.
Nesta deserves better. She deserves Emerie and Gwyn.

Friendly Reminder
Elain gave Nesta a grand total of two weeks to overcome her depression, self-loathing, and trauma before crying to Rhysand about how Nesta wasn't even trying, knowing full well that Rhysand wanted to throw Nesta in the human lands.
This is also after Elain didn't even try for months while Nesta sat by her side, taking care of her, and making sure she was eating and drinking. Nesta didn't go crying to Rhysand about how Elain wasn't trying. Nesta didn't pack up all of Elain's belongings behind her back. Nesta didn't let the IC lock Elain up in a house. Nesta would have never even let the IC threaten to throw Elain in the human lands or lock up her in a CoN dungeon cell.
Elain tooks months to recover from her trauma, and she still hasn't even recovered. Why couldn't she have given the same courtesy to Nesta?

In the first third of ACOWAR, Feyre wonders why Elain and Az were not mated because she doesn't understand what determines the bond.
Since that moment however, once Rhys explains some of it, Feyre never makes mention of Az and Elain being a match again. In Silver Flames, Nesta notes that she's aware of Az's secret but does not have any thoughts on Az and Elain being together. Cassian notes Az acting a bit odd but does not make note of anything between Elain and Az.
We do have the following though.
Feyre to Elain about Lucien:
“No.” I blinked. “But he is a good male.”
“He cares for you.”
“You don’t give him the chance to even try to do so.”
We also have her mention how maybe Elain prefers getting her hands dirty after Elain receives the enchanted gloves but..... a book later she says:
"I didn't dare mention that if she had been wearing the gloves Lucien had gotten her last Solstice, nothing would have pierced them at all".
Mor's opinion on Elain and Lucien
“Stay out of it. She’s not ready, and neither is he, no matter how many presents he brings.”
“Let him live with his Band of Exiles. Let him deal with Tamlin in his own way. Let him figure out where he wants to be. Who he wants to be. The same goes with her.”
Nesta's thoughts about Elain and Lucien:
Elain, the wretch, had taken the seat between Feyre and Varian, about as far from Lucien as she could get.
Cassians thoughts about Lucien and Elain:
Cassian’s heart strained at the pain etching deep into Lucien’s face as he tried to hide his disappointment and longing.
Rhys regarding Elain / Lucien / Az
To sum it up, Rhys is not a fan of the idea of Az using Elain to get his rocks off especially when Az can't admit to what his feelings for Mor currently are. Rhys also expects Az to have a little more respect for Lucien who is currently under his roof.
I'm seeing a lot of Elucien support from the IC.

Are there still people who are talking about Feyre vs Nesta as if both characters aren’t severely limited by a plot that favors the male narrative???

4. 0/10 - Women empowerment is great until they're actively ruining the lives of other innocent people
5. 12/10 - fit
He’s a 10 but he locks you in a magical house and won’t let you put any sugar in your fucking oatmeal.
He’s a 10 but he twists the exposed bone in your broken wrist until you agree to live with him for one week every month.
He’s a 10 but he has spoken 7 words total ever in history and 6 of them were about a dagger.
She’s a 10 but she burns entire political systems to the ground with no succession plan because her ex-boyfriend is a dick.
She’s a 10 but she hates herself so much she refuses to accept any type of love or positive affirmation and uses insults as foreplay.

just saw a post saying that Lucien has the most beautiful smile, an theyre totally right. his smile makes ppl feel as though the sun has finally come out🌻
Hi anon!
This statement is now canon and I will not be taking any feedback or comments.
Lucien is one of those people who lights up a room with just a greeting or a flash of his blinding smile. You can tell just from the smirk that sits upon his handsome face that when you’re in his presence you’ll have a good time for a long time. He has a sense of humour that brings out just the right amount of edge and relaxation in you and when he laughs because of a joke you make? that gold of eye of his seems to glow even brighter, catching any light in the room, and driving any bad mood away merely with it’s image

Important things that happened in one scene between Gwyn and Azriel:
1. His shadows not warning him that someone was in the ring. That someone is Gwyn. Azriel left the River House to go there by choice so claiming her was lured there is nonsense. The behavior of his shadows throughout this scene gives some clues and I think it's intentional on Sarah's part especially after mentioning how the shadows skitter back from Elain "the only thing we saw they skitter or recoil from is the Cauldron in ACOWAR". The fact that they didn't tell Gwyn was there is something new.
2. His shadows looking at her with curiosity and Azriel thought she was smiling back at them. Sarah went out of her way to highlight that fact she rarely addresses the reactions of his shadows and that Gwyn was acknowledging the presence of his shadows by smiling at them, the same shadows that intimidate others around them and others barely acknowledge their presence or just vaguely mention they're floating around Az.
3. Gwyn gave an opening for Az to leave by saying "Happy Solstice" in dismissal and he chose to continue the conversation by teasing her back.
4. Gwyn gets a bit flustered when Az teases her about kicking him out but tells him she knows he likes to be alone. Two important things here: she is aware enough of Azriel to know he likes being on his own and asks him if he came up to the House of Wind to be alone on Solstice night. She's indirectly getting to know him.
5. Azriel lies to her about coming up to the ring because he forgot his favorite dagger and Gwyn immediately catches his lie and indirectly calls him out on it. She's compeltely amused by him at this scene and he offers her a crooked smile back. Azriel, who was in the shittiest mood, bothered to offer a smile back.
6. She teases him about him not being able to sleep with his dagger and his lips twitch as if he's about to smile again. Icy raged Azriel? Smiling when not an hour passed since his conversation with Rhys? That's big coming from him. He even refrains from actually letting her know that he actually does sleep with daggers in every corner of his room.
7. She asks him about the party and her breath clouded in front of her since it's cold and it one of his shadows dart out to dance with it as if it's heard some silent music. Two things here: the reaction of Azriel's shadows and a hint about some silent music. That's a big clue for the reader here.
8. Azriel's awkward attempt at being social with Gwyn. His ice is starting to melt during this conversation and we have seen multiple times throughout the books that when Az is in a shitty mood he barely manages a polite hello or even a smile. The fact he is interacting with Gwyn, instead of leaving to brood somewhere else is not something insignificant. He even notes his answers are not socially acceptable and tries to give a more polite answer.
9. This is one of the highlights of the scene: Gwyn asks Azriel if he sings. That's a personal question and one Azriel even says caught him off guard and he mentions that it wasn't everyday that people took him by surprise. But Gwyn did didn't she? And it's an important question for Gwyn because she loves singing. She connects that to him being a Shadowsinger but that also means she wants to know who he is and being a Shadowsinger is part of his identity. Remember, we started out this scene with a pissed off Azriel but now we have Azriel answering Gwyn either a chuckle about him singing.
10. She almost asks him to demonstrate his singing but Az being good at deflection asks her to cut the ribbon instead. He thinks of it a good distraction but he still helped Gwyn.
11. Gwyn jokes about Cassian being too focused at Nesta to not realize the mistakes she's making while training and Az laughs at that. He. Laughed.
12. Gwyn thanks him with a smile and Azriel dips his head in a sketch of a bow and notes something restless in him settling and even his shadows have calmed down and were content to lounge on his shoulders and watch. This scene started out with Az being depressed and angry and ended with him laughing and feeling calmed down enough to remember to actually get some sleep. We rarely or even have never saw Azriel's mood change in a span of an hour let alone a day. Sarah doesn't only highlight Azriel is feeling settled down, she also mentions that his shadows have calmed down and were content to watch Gwyn.
13. Azriel wishes Gwyn a happy solstice and leaves. As he was walking down the stairs he swore he can hear a faint beautiful singing following him and his shadows sang back in answer. This is another big clue here, you know why? Because Sarah used almost the same line for Bryce and Hunt in HOSAB: “His lightning flowed into her like a river, and he could have sworn he heard a beautiful sort of music between their souls”. She wrote HOSAB after ACOSF so the fact she used music yet again for mates, it wasn't the kind of music anyone could hear but it's music only mates could hear. Azriel being a Shadowsinger gives him a better chance of detecting it but I wouldn't put it past him to not realize what it is.
All of this is packed in one scene. You can clearly tell or I personally think those are the crumbs SJM scattered all over his bonus chapter. There quite a few emotions and reactions Gwyn is bringing out of Az in one scene. It's significant because Azriel keeps his emotions locked in and barely shows emotions especially when he is pissed. He just keeps an icy exterior but it crumbled quickly around Gwyn. The scene started with him feeling shitty to him and his shadows feeling calmed down.
