i swear, i knew it

almost always with these types of books. its always too good to be true. 

thats why books like ACOTAR and Crescent city are such refreshers. because you actually feel satisfied and awed by things going right. and wrong everywhere else. not predictable. This is twisty bullshit is an obvious predicable. an annoying one. 

of course cardan betrayed her. what did i expect. even if the author figures out how to turn it back around i still feel like stabbing the character because of laughing with other bullies. fuck this series forreal lol 

there were short stories at the end of the book. and i didnt even bother to read it. i should read cardan’s point of view. maybe ill feel better. but i really feel like its the red queen series all over again. i didnt even really bother with broken throne because i was uninterested with the other characters and i could care less what happened to the main characters in the other story on the side lines along with the main story. mehhhh. maybe if i have time. if im bored. if a quote gets brought up in the near future. ill go back and read the novellas. but id prefer no. the new book i preordered from this series. i will be very very happy to just sell it off for more than i paid for it. as soon as i can. who knows if ill eve read it

i know wicked king ends in a cliff hanger what that cliff hanger is, i have no idea

ive been dying for more love in this love story and the impromtu wedding is hitting the right spots but im weary.. during the exchange of vows in eldred’s room.. is it even cardan? what if its balekin in disguise! what if the cliff hanger is that cardan tries to kill jude the moment she frees him from the agreement?

I. am. literally. at. the. moment. jude speaks and releases him from the agreement. what happens next.. im scared. theres still a few pages left of the book.

does madoc come back out of nowhere and kill cardan?

does nicasia bear witness and shoots another arrow towards cardan and kills him? does she really become “queen of nothing” with no cardan?

is the wedding fake? I swear. if cardan dies at this cliffhanger.. i will legit speed read the rest of the series just to finally knock it off my tbr list and forget about it forever. 

dammit. please please please dont betray jude cardan! pleaseeeeee. she finally let go of the agreement. let it be happy for them both from here on out. no more betrayal please!

i never once spelled cardan’s name wrong. 

- but forreals.. i just really want to love this story. cardan’s character is exactly the type i love to read about.. but there just ISNT enough of him in the first 500 pages of the series for me to grow attached to his character. its just not there. dammit. -

october wrap up: Absolutely gushed over crescent city. Finished that the first week of the month. Had a major book hang over but heard so many good things about the from the blood and ashes series. it was hard to get into it at first but then fell absolutely in love with cas and poppy. and just the whole world. cant wait for the new books for both series. have it marked on my calendar; no doubt about that. 

i knew it was gonna be hard to recover after those two series.  so i went for a popular recommendation. the cruel prince series. the covers were gorgeous and i bought the box set from barnes and nobles one night when i needed some alone time after work. i loved cardan’s and jude’s fan art and ive always loved an enemys turned lovers story.  but i gotta admit. im not that impressed. maybe its because i read such an stories before it? idk. i feel like the way i felt when i read the red queen series. still a good series but it isnt satisfying what i need a book series to satisfy. 

i just finished the selection series when i read the red queen. still good reads but didnt fufill that need. i was hoping for more of a development from cardan and jude’s stories. i thought it would get better after the first book. in my experience.. the second book of the series is usually always better. ACOMAF; kindgom of flesh and fire; etc. 

im almost done with wicked king. and i know theres a cliffhanger and i still hate cardan. hell, id rather have balekin take jude at this point. im not loving the series. and i JUST pre-ordered king of elfhame. 

i might be speaking too soon though. who knows. there IS still queen of nothing. it got its own exclusive box on fairyloot so we’ll see. CROSS FINGERS PLEASE.

it was hard to enjoy this at first because i was still so obsessed with ACOTAR when i read it. it didnt help that the beginning felt a lot like information overload BUUUUUUUUUUUT this one had me crying and laughing and living for every moment. i have never cried so hard for a “first book of a series” 

i cant even imagine how book 2 is going to make me feel. im worried and im excited. i WILL be rereading my favorite parts before the new book next year. 

i have come to learn that sarah j maas can do no wrong.

🐍 A sneaky, schemey papercraft inspired by the Hewn City scene from #ACOMAF. When Daphne (@illumicrate) approached me with the request for a Hewn City inspired mug, she and I both agreed that the ‘throne scene’ was a bit overdone. (and honestly, I don’t think I’d be able to keep my beverage down drinking from a mug like that. I’d snort-choke every time.) But what else was our power couple doing at the Hewn City OTHER than enjoying a complimentary chair massage? Why, the chin hold of course! 🐍

a little book obsession

i guess i have stephanie meyer to thank for this. what was just supposed to be a moment of reminiscing, turned into a new full blown obsession. 

After 12 years, a new addition to one of my favorite series pops up on tiktok. Found out it just released the day before. first thing i did during my luck break was call the closes barnes and noble and asked if they had it in stock.  Went online and ordered it for pick up. 

That same night, i just couldnt put it down, and when it was over i was on such a high that i was not ready to get down from it. i went on to finding new stories and new addictions.
